Good morning. Yesterday I did my usual total body weight workout. I was moving kind of slow, so it took a bit longer than usual. Therefore, I decided to skip abs. That didn’t break my heart. Too bad the core is so important, or I’d just ditch abs totally, LOL.
Cathy – You sure did jump back into the workouts! Good job! I wish I could do pushups, but they totally kill my right shoulder. I’m telling you, if there are real people handling those insurance claims, they don’t have brains! One cent? Really?
Carolyn – Nice work on Stacked Sets Upper Body. Oh my, the wheatberry bread sounds scrumptious! I used to bake bread but got tired of spending forever in the kitchen. Maybe I should get a bread machine.
Valerie – LOL, I agree. Dark chocolate is in a class by itself. Yeah, the cheap stuff is nasty, Hershey’s especially.
Judy – I’m sure glad your hip pain is better and that your PT appointment went well.
Okay, the walking thing. First, thank you ladies for your suggestions. I appreciate it. I love to walk anywhere and everywhere. I’m always walking around the property and I love to hike (but don’t do it often enough), so I walk on uneven surfaces all the time at a normal pace. That doesn’t bother me. Oh and I do wear hiking boots. My current ones are mid-height. My feet prefer the firm soles, so I wear them all the time, no matter what I’m doing.
The problem arises because now walking is the only form of cardio I can do. My normal pace isn’t enough to get my heart rate up where I want it, so that’s why I power walk. I got the treadmill because I wanted to make use of the incline to really get the heart pumping, but too many hills gave me hamstring tendonitis. So then I went out on the road for recovery, and to remove the temptation of increasing incline. Then I nearly got hit by a car. That’s why I shifted to trying to power walk on our property, but the increased speed on the uneven terrain doesn’t really work well. So it looks like I’m back on the treadmill. It’s boring and I don’t like it, but I don’t know what else to do to get an adequate cardio workout.
Sorry for all this …
