Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B June 8th!

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did Ellen Barrett's Slim Sculpt (45 min.).

I watched So You Think . . . Dance last night. It was really good. At the start, they perform in couples and they basically choose a choreographing style (everything from Hip-Hop to Tango) at random and a choreographer creates a dance for them. Some of the couples were HOT! Puts Dancing with the Stars to shame in terms of skill, which is probably why Dancing with the Stars is so interesting--to see how much the stars improve.

Nice, Deb, that you have a little time off from Keegan. Has he bonded as closely to your DH as he has to you? Is Kelsey jealous of all the attention?

Josie, don't get me started on gasoline prices. It's because the dollar isn't worth much and the price of a barrel of oil is specifically tied to the dollar. My husband has to raise his prices on wood and hay because of the diesel he uses in all of his trucks, tractors, bucket loader, etc. People seem so shocked until he tells them how much diesel is going for.

Linny, the STS series is a 3X per week program. Does that sound do-able?

Big shock yesterday. My scale is off by 5 pounds (went for my annual pap smear and got weighed), so I suddenly went from 137 to 142. Yikes! I want to get down to 135--which I have been saying to myself for months. Now it looks even harder to do. Time for action!

Enjoy the rest of this gorgeous (here, anyway) day!

Good Afternoon!

I can't believe I am posting at 4:30 pm! My schedule is upside down for sure. I did MM upper body split today. It felt really good. One of these days I am going to try the upper body pre-mix of 4DS. I heard it's a killer.}(

Linny:
Oh that poor man. I can;t even imagine what he must have been going through. Yes...Keegan sleeps in a crate at night, and takes "time outs" in one during the day. STS is a 3 day per week series, around an hour a workout.

Josie:
Hope you had a good workout yesterday!

Garance:
I think I am going to stick to Dancing With the Stars, not wanting to get "sucked in" to another series! I too like to see the stars get better each week. Keegan loves Kelsey..she is still tolerating him. She is so gentle with him, and really needs to put him in his place more than she does. Are you sure about the scale? If you did not weigh yourself in the nude, first thing in the morning ( after using the bathroom) on each scale, when doing the comparision, I would not put much into it. My weight can fluctuate up to 5 pounds at different times of the day.

Have a great day!

Deb

Hi Deb,Garance and Josie:

Josie:Wow 4.55 a gallon, thats crazy.I quess thats one good thing about living on the east coast, our prices are a little cheaper.

Garance:That SYTYCD show sounds like fun.I'll have to see if DH can tape it sometime for me.I didn't realize that STS was only q 3 day program.I think that is do-able.Can you do 3 in a row? You must have freaked when you saw the scale.I'm still 150-152 pds,I need to crack the whip.

Deb:I hope you are finding time for yourself during this vacation.Hopefully Keegan will grow on Kelsey. My scale fluctuates daily too_One day a pound up then next a pound down.I wish I could run.My sister does and see is nice and thin.My shins hurt and I break out in hives:(
Lat night wasn't too bad, very busy.I did have a float nurse which helped alot.I di have to start my med pass at 5:15am and some of the patient weren't too happy about that.Tonight is my friday nite,Yippee! Then it will be the lake for the weekend, depending on weather.Heard we may have rain saturday nite and cooler on sunday.
Have a good night ladies~Linny~

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did Leslie's 4 Fast Miles with the 5 intervals of "boosted walking" (approx. 50 min.), and audio only.

Another gorgeous day here. Had lunch with friends to discuss our Jacob's Pillow plans and catch up (one of them spends her winters in San Diego). It was so lovely sitting outside that we ended up with a 2 hour lunch.

Hmm--so maybe the scale was wrong because I weighed in in the afternoon? I guess it should be heavier than my morning weigh-ins, but by 5 lbs.? I am still going to try harder to lose some lbs. Only ate half my lunch today.

My wisteria is blooming like crazy this year. It has taken 4 years for it to really get going. I love this fragrance.

I wish I could run, too, Linny. My knees just won't take the pounding. I did jog in my 20s and 30s, and you're right, it keeps the weight down and is especially good on the legs.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good Morning and Happy Saturday!

Yesterday I took Keegan to DH's office to meet him for lunch. He got to meet all the office staff and a big scary dog in the fenced yard next door! The dog was about 50 pounds, barking and growling at my poor baby, who proceeded to take a stand and barked back! }( ..the little pipsqueak! We went to an outside hotdog stand ( I know, I know not good!), ate outside at a picnic table. Then I took him to my brother's so they could see him.. He loved everybody, which is not unusual for puppies.

Linny:

I am sure you are at the lake by now. I hope you are having good weather and No Hives! Yes..I think STS can be done 3 days in a row, if you had to do it that way. It's supposed to be different body parts each day. I would probably put the "leg" workout between the other 2 upper body. Are you able to do 4 workouts a week? Will you be able to get some cardio in?

Garance:
Your lunch sounds lovely!..Yes..the rule of weighing in: first thing in the am, after bathroom, no liquid and stark naked! This sometimes even fluctuates if I have had a lot of salty food the day before and drank lots of water.. I can be up, then the next day I am down 2 pounds! I love wisteria! We had one that had to be moved because we were expanding our driveway. We tried to replant it but it died. It never did have flowers and we had it about 4 years.

Josie:
I hope you are having a fun weekend!

Deb

Hi Deb and Linny-lady-of-the-lake, and Josie--

I cleaned house this morning--my day off from exercise. My duster was absolutely yellow with pollen when I was done. Unbelievable! Everything seems coated with this stuff. Maybe this rain will settle things down--we're getting a few showers at the moment.

Deb: Sounds like Keegan had a real adventure, and I bet it was fun for you to show him off. Is there anybody who doesn't go all mushy when they see a puppy? You were right about the weigh in. This morning I was back down to 137. I still want to try harder to lose some weight, though, so I am really being careful.

Linny: I hope all is well with you at the lake--no hives, no hot flashes, no Aunt Flo!

Love my wisteria, Deb, but it did take 4 years for it to bloom like this. The last two years, one bloom showed up. I thought, "Oh great--all this climbing foliage for one little bloom each year!" Last year DH pruned it according to these instructions I found, and in the process he scratched his cornea. I think he was ready to kill the plant for the pain. So glad he didn't--I think his pruning did the final trick.

I am now trying to persuade DH that I need a weeping cherry tree. I just love their early spring blooms.

Enjoy the weekend everyone!

Hi Deb, Linny, and Josie--

This morning I did 4ds Kickbox with legs and abs (70 min.).

Happy Father's Day! We're having a cookout with FIL and MIL. I made a blueberry cobbler and will make some macaroni and cheese and a salad to go with our burgers and brats. Older son may show up later with his fiancee.

Don't feel bad, Deb. I don't know how to post pictures at all.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!
