Hi all,

The trial is going well. I showed Kylee yesterday in one of the beginner title levels and we scored 199.5 out of 200! I was so proud of her! :D.

It was a very long day, we were all exhausted.

Josie, hope your trip to see your MIL goes well.

Valerie, I have so many workout DVD's like everyone else it seems  did sell about 8 recently on Ebay, but need to cull out some more.

Hi to Lori, Judy and Lynda,

Have a great rest of the weekend!

Good morning ladies!

Had fun at the restaurant yesterday. Was nice to see the cooks learning and making all the new dishes. Plus we got to eat everything afterwards! Yum!

Did some errands on the way home and once settled in I did Lower Body Blast. First time doing this one. Bought the DVD in the winter. Very similar to cardio legs and sts plyo legs. Had some floor work at the end using bands which was great. Total workout was about an hour. Really liked this one and will be going back to it. Later I took Chester for a 3.5 mile walk.

Came home after our walk and noticed freezer part of refrigerator completely died! We knew it was on it's way out so not surprised. Just the other day I took most of frozen food out and put in large freezer in basement. Glad I did this. It is about 13 years old. Went immediately to sears and bought another. They were having a sale that ended last night so off I went!!!! Last thing I wanted to do on a Saturday night.

Hope everyone has a great Sunday! Relaxing today and looking forward to it.

Hi all,

Well another Obedience trial over with! whew! It's a lot of work for our club, but since we are an AKC Obedience club, we feel that we should put one on each year. Our club has been around doing this since 1958!

Kylee took second place today with a score of 198. I am really happy with her performance, especially since she was not happy being in the crate most of the day.

Lori, I did not get LBB workout, I think I remember Valerie doing it a lot and really liking it too. Nice that you get to eat all the food the chefs make :D

Off to see what we can have for dinner, nothing really done this weekend, no food bought ( I did make Keegan's food of course ;))..

Hi to all,

Take care,

congrats Deb on you and Kylee scoring so high! seems right, you've been working hard with her for quite a while. time to get rewarded.

you're right... I have LBB ....used it a lot last winter and spring. it was my favorite lower body workout though I haven't done it in months now. with hiking and cycling, it doesn't seem necessary. once fall rains start up, I'll go back to it. for reasons I don't remember right now, there wasn't a dread factor for me on that one and, like Lori mentioned, the floor work is good too. do-able and not easy but not impossible.

just got back from a ride. we'd intended to go longer today but it started out very foggy so didn't leave early. I don't feel good being less visible. then we got all mixed up with a bunch of events going on...at least 3 distance rides with lots of people, fund raiser for MS, with 3 different distance loops, and also some kind of "running" road event as well. all kind of bike and vehicle traffic plus support vehicles and sheriffs on motorcycles going mostly opposite of us on the route. and loads of runners also. I worry about distracted drivers as it is, and with all these obstacles I think drivers could get annoyed. too many people passing big bunches of bikes going opposite of us, which put them in our lane. so we did our regular loop of about 22 miles and called it a day. will hike tomorrow.

Refrigerators don't last 30 years anymore, do they? what style did you get? Lucky you noticed it failing and moved the food. I love the French door ones with freezer on the bottom. weren't available when I bought my last one, a side by side. my space would probably accommodate a French door and I'd love to have wider space on top.

Good evening ladies!

Today I did Kick,Punch and Crunch followed by crossfire firewalker and plyo tabatas. Great workout! This evening walked Chester. Was a great walk too. I listen to audio books while I walk and I have been listening to Helter Skelter and boy was I moving while listening to this book! I was 8 years old when the Manson Murders took place and remember them well. Still creepy to read about Manson all these years later.

Valerie...LBB will be one I will do over and over. Felt it really worked every muscle.

We bought a kenmore with top freezer. When we moved here 13 years ago we bought all frigidare appliances. I feel they have not held up at all. So decided to try kenmore and see what happens. I have never been a fan of double doors or bottom freezers. Everyone I know loves them. I just like basic I guess!

Deb...Kylee is on a role! Good job. How long have you been envolved in your club? Sounds like a lot of work but at the same time very rewarding too.

Have a great night!

Hi to Judy, Josie and Lynda!

Lori, my kitchen has a big island. no room for a conventional frig door. I've had side by sides forever. ever since I saw the French door ones, I thought how much nicer to have the wide top part all frig. mine (whirlpool) the shelves don't go all the way to the sides/ back. air gap for circulation & efficiency. especially in the freezer, things are ALWAYS sliding off the shelves and down the back wall of the freezer. in the frig .... containers tip easily ( gap from shelf edges to back/side walls) and spill. this was the only style that fit so it was not really much of a choice. this is the appliance I wish would fail but no..... everything else did, but the frig goes on and on. shelves are narrow right to left. no way would even a pizza fit.

DH is having some grief with his insurance. supposed to all be the same (Cobra) but a prescription that cost $70 a couple months ago now is showing $400. need to find out what is happening! his BP meds were all free before because of being preventive and they're all generic and now look like they''ll be $200 or some such. his previous employer was very slow at processing paperwork so maybe that's the problem.

Good afternoon ladies!

Slept in this morning. All the cardio I have done the past few days my legs needed to rest. When I get home I will do a quick walk with Chester then P90X upper body.

Valerie...that is terrible with the price of your DH's meds. Hoping you can get this resolved and the cost of those will be substantially reduced. That is insane.

I'll check in later to see what is going on! Getting excited about the new workouts!

Hi Ladies,

I did the T-25 cardio DVD following the modifier. I till got a good sweat, tomorrow I will be going to spin class and a 30 minute stretch class right after.

Deb, congratulations!!

I will be back later, have to go grocery shopping and want to avoid the crowd :)

Josie

Good evening! Back again.

Been so crazy busy at work and working later than usual. Boss is out today so I was out of there at 5:00 sharp!! Walked chester then p90x back and bicep. I always feel so strong after this workout.

My son started with T25 today and loved it. Hoping he sticks with it. I feel young kids do not get enough exercise now a days with all the technology and video games.

Judy, how are things going with your FIL?

Deb, how is your aunt?

Josie! Great job on T25. I told my son to go with the modifier when he needs to then switch back when he can or stay with modifier You get a good workout either way.

Ho to Valerie and Lynda!

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did a 4 mile run/walk and this morning I did Muscle Max with Core 2 and Medicine Ball Abs. I upped my weights in a few of the exercises and I feel like I am getting a little stronger.

Lori-FIL is doing pretty well but his vision is getting worse :( DH has him scheduled to see his Opthalmologist on the 24th, the soonest he could get in. FIL has macular degeneration and it must be getting worse as he is complaining about his vision.

Kick, Punch, and Crunch is one of the DVDs I have that I haven't done yet. It's on my list to do soon though. It looks like a lot of fun!

Josie-Great that you can spin again!

Valerie-That is awful about the cost of the medicine, I hope it gets resolved.

Deb-Congratulations!

Hi to Lynda,

Judy

Good morning,

I could have sworn that I posted here yesterday, but do not see the post...huh? strange.

Nothing much going on here....work, classes, visiting the hospital. etc.

Valerie, awful about the medical coverage stuff with your DH. Is he not 65 yet?

Lori, kind of getting excited about the new workouts, I have not done anything for about 3+ weeks now. Is this the son that is away that is doing those workouts? My aunt is about the same. She sleeps a lot, and we can hardly understand her when she speaks...:(

Judy, you should ask the DR to tell your FIL that he should not drive. Sometimes they take it better and listen when it is a DR..

Josie, nice workout! Retired people should be going grocery shopping at 10:00 am!! LOL

Time to get ready....take care,

Good morning,

Going to be hot here, in the 90's today and tomorrow. I'm going to get outside early and enjoy it while it lasts! I probably mentioned before, I prefer warmer weather and really enjoy being outside.

Deb-We are going to talk to the Dr. about FIL driving. DH said that he will take FIL's keys away if the Dr. says he shouldn't drive. Apparently, at the last eye dr. visit (Aug 2012) the Dr. said FIL was just barely able to see well enough to drive. SIL had taken him to that visit and I hadn't heard that part of the report until last week  I'm guessing that this next exam will be worse so I think his driving days are almost over. At this point, I think he is afraid to drive, probably because he can't see well. His primary doctor had already told him he couldn't drive more than 3 miles from his house, just to go to the grocery store.

I'll check back later,

Hope everyone has a great day!

Judy

Good morning ladies!

This morning I sub Insanity Plyo Cardio Circuit for the scheduled T25. The insanity w/o was longer but by not doing the warm up stretches it cut it down to just about 35 minutes. We don't stretch in T25 so figured I would do the same. Worked out well.

Deb...so sad about your aunt. Prayers and hugs to you. Yes it is my son that just moved away. He and I started P90x together last year. He never finished! He stopped about mid way through. So hoping he sticks with this.
That has happened to me a few times where I know I typed out a reply and then hours later nothing. Very frustrating!

Judy... I agree and he should not be driving. This is so difficult, once the driving is taking away you are so dependent on others. This must be so hard on him. It had been a while since I had done KPC in it's entirety. Forgot how much I liked it.

Have a great afternoon. I'll try and check in later!

went to yoga this morning, and then did a 32 mile bike ride. then did major pharmacy stops. I can't believe how much has gone wrong with this prescription. FU's ( excuse me) x 100! settled on different meds, but still expensive. the plan inserted a clause last year that makes users responsible for $1500 before coveraqe kicks in. and this is a big hospital that is making so much money that like other nonprofits, they don't know what to do with all the money they're making except pay their CEO 6 mil a year. Has anyone read the Steven Brill article that Time mag ran a few months ago??? we are being screwed over BIG time. massively. If you haven't, you should make a point to do so. it is an eye opener and I thought I was pretty informed.

I will be gone for a couple days. Hang in there everyone. I will probably not be connected from lake Tahoe.

Good morning all,

It's very hot here, already 79 degrees and it's only 5:23 am! It is supposed to break a record high today. Strange weather for September here at least.

Judy, it will be a relief for you and DH if /when your FIL is off the road. I know when my MIL voluntarily stopped driving we were relieved. She had the same thing your FIL has, and had a few "fender bender" prior to stopping driving. She not only stopped driving on her own, she signed up for an assisted living place about 2 years before she had to, because she wanted to get into a certain place and there was a 2 year waiting list. She was a care giver for my FIL who had a stroke and needed a lot of care etc. She did that for over 25 years. I think she made up her mind that she was not going to put that on any of her kids. This was a lady that went on a 3 week tour of China at 84 years old, by herself! She was such a wonderful, person, and a fine lady. I miss her a lot.

Lori, you are doing so well with your workouts!

Valerie, sorry about your medical coverage woes. Don't get me started, I know we do not get political here so I will refrain from voicing my displeasure and opinions of what has happened to this country, but I can say, this is just the beginning. Wait until January when Obama Care starts. **jumps off soap box**. Have a great trip! We'll be here when you get back LOL...

Hi to Josie, & Garance,

Take care,

Deb I'm talking about the current system which is incredibly unfair to those without insurance and often to those that do, and rigged to bankrupt this country. we priced these meds in Canada $40 including shipping and not $400+ . this is a little tube of cream.... that didnt' work very well not some wonder drug. without the plan change it would have been $60 but basically the plan now has a $1500 deductible we have to pay before the medication coverage kicks in. without insurance it's $400? no wonder poor people or those without good coverage can't afford their BP meds. Honestly, the Time magazine article is a long one but it's worth reading. the author did his research and it's not political but focused on the current system and how dysfunctional it is. it works well for some people but not for most.
DH is not 65, he's 58 so will be looking for a private plan after cobra coverage expires. the company he worked for is a catholic "nonprofit " paying their CEO between 6-8 mil a year salary. you need to "follow the money"... I'm on medicare now. so far so good.

judy hope you can get those keys willingly. it must be difficult to give them up but things happen too fast in a car for him to be driving. scary for everyone.

Talk to you all in a few days.

Good morning ladies!

Today is my Bday so I decided to sleep in!! YEAH!!! 52 today and still can't believe it. I have no problem being this age it just seems weird to me to say I am 52 because I certainly do not feel it!

I may or may not work out tonight. Depends on what DH has planned. He usually does something really sweet like balloons and a cake.

Valerie...I am going to look up that article. It is disgusting what the price of meds and medical care is in this country. I have friends that live in England and they were shocked to hear how much I paid for a root canal! have fun in Lake Tahoe!

Deb...they way I workout you would think I was a size 2 and 100lbs! Unfortunately, I work for an Italian restaurant company...need I say more?

Going to be in the 90's today!! Perhaps I will meet DH at the pool for one last swim!

Have a great afternoon all!!!!

Hi Ladies,

I will be spinning today and abs. My foot was hurting after T-25 on Monday, so I decided to wait another month to start that again. I will be doing muscle max and muscle endurance instead 2-3 times per week plus the spinning for cardio.

Lori, Happy Birthday!!! Have a wonderful day.

Valerie, have fun at the wedding.

Hi to Deb, Judy and Garance!

Josie

It's bizarre... there's a big move for "medical travel?". some one can fly to ?? (Belgium for example). first class, including all costs including airfare and get a hip replacement for less than they can at home. and the charges are all over the map! the same procedure can many times more or less depending on insurance, hospital, coverage, location. and the pre existing condition baloney! what people need the most is often unavailable thru insurance because they had 'whatever" before they got the policy. so they get charged full bore. the poorest people get charged the most. oh sorry, I shouldn't get started. happy birthday Lori!
