Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 9/6

Good morning ladies!

I feel better. I must just have been overly tired between the weekend festivities and working long hours. Going out tonight with my brother to celebrate my birthday. We are also meeting up with a cousin we haven't seen in years so should be fun. My brother leaves tomorrow for a road trip home to Arizona. He plans to visit with Madeline then friends in Florida before ending in Arizona. He used to be a long distance truck driver so he loves to drive. Good for him becuase I could never do that!

Valerie, same here I have my doggies dewormed when they are puppies but not since. Hopeyou knee is ok. Coming down steep inclines I would imagine could hurt you very easily.

Deb..glad Kylee's tooth seems to be ok.

Lynda...boy did it rain yesterday and hard too! We needed the rain here. I can imagine what it was like on Greylock when it came in.

Judy...I never did the 1 rep max either. I need to look up catastrophe also. No clue!

Hi to Josie.

No plans for the weekend other than taking chester. We need a quite weekend. I leave for my conference on the 19th. Can't wait for this to be over!

Hi Ladies,

My physical went well, my BP was 123/58 which made me very happy now I just have to wait for the rest of my labs. I will be going to Fresno today to visit the peanuts and don't know if I will have a chance to workout, but I'm taking some workout clothes just in case. I want to apologize for my typo on my ALC letter. I caught it after I sent it out :(

Deb, thank you so much for your donation to ALC, you are my first one :)

Lori, Happy Birthday! Glad that you get to spend it with your brother. Looks like you are working crazy hours and that makes your immune system a bit week. Get some good rest over the weekend and I hope Chester does not have a serious injury.

Valerie, I got so sick of the gels, that I no longer use them. I use Nunn also .
I won $840 at the casino this time :)$$$.

Judy and Garance I was lucky to participate in the New York Marathon 3 times. It is by far my favorite one.

It looks like I'm going from 90 degree weather to 102 in Fresno :(. At least they have an AC.

Josie

Hi everyone--

This morning I did KCM's Cardio Quick Fix both workouts (44:39).

Josie, you are a real dynamo to have done the NY Marathon 3 times. My son's girlfriend was a long distance runner in high school and wanted to try the NY Marathon, which is pretty flat, before trying the Boston Marathon, which has some pretty steep hills. Have fun with your peanuts even if it is hot. You are so lucky with the gambling.

Judy, I really think it takes perseverance to get through meso 3 without speeding through the rest periods. DH would sometimes look at me and say, sarcastically, "So, do you want a book to read while you wait?" He always thought it was funny that I am never without something to read, even when standing in lines. Just my way of dealing with impatience.

Valerie, I know what you mean about going down hill and the knees. There are some hikes around here that are okay for me going up, but I have to be extra careful coming down.

Happy birthday, Lori! Yes, we had a quarter inch of rain on Wed. and another inch last night. Much needed.

A quiet weekend for me, Deb, unless I decide to see a film. Just Housemax and no houseguests for a change.

Did a 26 mile ride today and now need to pack some stuff so we can leave sunday.
Lori, hope the sore throat resolved itself and that it wasn't leading into another upper respiratory infection. seems like it wasn't very long ago you were dealing with one.
Deb, our plan is to pack up everything today &tomorrow and head off early sunday morning. we avoid the weekday morning commute traffic. no way to leave early enough to avoid on a weekday anymore. we are heading to Wyoming and maybe thru Yellowstone on the way back. only plan on being gone a week.
I don't think it's being cynical about dental issues either. It seems with dental issues, there's almost always something that can be done if someone wants to spend the money.
ETA this is so strange...I thought no one had posted after Deb, and immediately after I posted this, both Lynda & Josie's posts appeared.
Josie those are good numbers! your BP AND your winnings!

Hi Everyone,

This morning I did a 90 minute Spinerval. It felt good to do a longer ride again. Hopefully we'll be able to get some outdoor riding in soon too.
This weekend is the fall festival in Plymouth so we will probably go downtown for that. It's usually a good time and close to home:

Deb-that's good news about Kylee's tooth. I don't blame you for being cynical. I know some vets do things like that.

Lori-Happy Birthday!

Josie-I bet the NY Marathon was awesome! It sounds like you will have a warm weekend.

Lynda-I do that too, with my phone. I usually start checking my email or reading something. Before I smart phones, I always had a book or magazine with me.

Valerie-Nice ride! Hope you have a great trip!

Have a great weekend!

Judy

Happy Weekend!

It rained some last night, and boy we really needed it. The leaves are dropping on some of the trees due to the stress of no water.

Lori, glad you are feeling better. How was your birthday dinner? I'm with you, I don't know how people drive those distances. You mentioned taking Chester....is that the vet visit to see what is happening to him?

Josie, wow the NY Marathon 3 times! That is awesome. Have fun with the Peanuts. :).

Lynda, sometimes you just need a quiet weekend with no commitments, and no company! Even if it means filling the time with HouseMax. The Kindle or Nook were made for people like us.....I take my Nook anytime I think I may have to wait for something.

Valerie, have a great trip!

Judy, that festival sounds like a lot of fun. How far from your place is it?

Agility class today, then lots of inside HouseMax for me.

Take care,

Happy birthday Lori.. hope you didn't get a URI to celebrate with.

we rode again this morning, just a a short one 15 miles. even on those I'm trying to push my speed to 16-17 as much as possible. a lot more work than rolling along at 12 or 13 mph. we bought a new odometer for my bike. it's working better. I was losing a mileage as the old one kept stopping intermittently. new battery didn't help. so I got a new wireless one and it's more accurate.

Lynda, I don't understand why I have so many issues with downhill. some people just fly down. DH could go twice as fast as I can but no matter what, I brake with my thighs and lose footing easily. something about how my feet and ankles are put together.... not a new thing. my feet get tangled up the same as when I try to dance. not going to happen. there's a certain angle beyond which I have difficulty.

we are off in the morning. I'll try to check in when we have service. Hope everyone has a good week.

Good morning & Happy Sunday.

It's really cold and still raining. It has been raining since Friday night...non-stop. OK, we needed rain, but it can stop now!

Lots of HousMax today, since it is not a great day for outdoor stuff,

Valerie, have a safe and fun trip,

Judy, I hope the weather is good where you are so you can go to the festival.

Hi to Josie, Lynda & Lori,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend,

Take care,
