Good morning all,

First day that I feel like my head is starting to clear up....Maybe on the road to recovery...finally!

Agility class was good, I took Kylee. She's a trip...

Valerie, nice workout..9 miles with a lot of elevation is great! WOW...maybe we can get the bikes out this weekend...if I keep feeling better...I also like a "no pressure" weekend...just do what feels like fun. Or sleep!

Hi to all...still no word from Lynda...:(

Good morning ladies!

I went back and looked at our threads. 8/16 was the last time Lynda posted. This is more than 2 weeks ago. She was going to Jacob's Pillow and her husband was having surgery in January. No mention of going away. Hoping all is well as I am worried also.

Yesterday I did T25 Speed 2. I like this one a lot. Gets my heart rate up. I then continued on with Turbo Fire, Fire 30. What fun! Turbo Fire is pretty much a really fast cardio Kickbox style workout. Not sure what I am going to do today. My son surprised me and came home for the weekend. We went to lunch yesterday and hung for the afternoon. Today he is visiting with his girlfriend.

Deb..I am sure Kylee had a great time!

I'll check in later today ladies! Have a great day.

took yesterday totally off. my legs were fried. that particular hike is always hard for me. the route is straightforward but for some reason I always get sore no matter what else I've been doing. so we did some garden stuff, baked a bunch of things for our upcoming trips. it's handy to have some frozen muffins, brownies, cookies, bars so I can just grab whatever number I need of each and pack them. DH is trying to be a good kitchen helper but it's a mixed blessing so far. he wants me to tell him what to do, but I'm so used to doing it myself that he feels more underfoot than anything.

Lori, thanks for looking back at the old thread.... I was going to but you beat me to it.... I have no clue how we can follow up on her unless she checks back in. at one time I knew her last name, could probably find it because of that article she'd published. but what good would that do? maybe she's had some kind of family emergency...

Hi,

I have her last name, and even her address because of the things I have gotten for her on Ebay and had them shipped directly to her. Could probably get her phone number, but feel a little intrusive? what do you think?

I do not think we are being intrusive as I feel we all genuinely care about each other. Even though we have never personally met I consider you all friends as we have shared so many things with each other from our day to day lives. She is very active in our circle and gave no indication that she was going on vacation or anything. It is out of character and we are all very concerned.

I am very sad today too. About an hour ago I learned one of the kids that died yesterday at the zoo concert in NY was my coworkers youngest daughter. She was only 20 years old and was born shortly after I started working at my company. We are like family in my office as most of us have worked together for 10plus years. So heartbreaking.

Just a quick post-I'm so sorry about your friend's daugher Lori :( That is so sad

I agree about calling Lynda, it's not intrusive at all. I hope that all is well with her.

I spent Friday night in the ER with my husband. He was having stomach and chest discomfort and I took him to the hospital around 10 pm. They did lots of tests and found nothing wrong. I think he was having an anxiety/stress reaction. We didn't get home until 3:30 am.

I'll check in again later,

Judy

Deb, I don't think it would be too intrusive. could you try a middle ground and send her a note via snail mail? unfortunately if there's something going on preventing her from responding via computer, it's not likely a note in the mail would be any better. There is so much that can happen ...both good things and bad things... that could take someone out of their normal routine. and of course, we all think of the worst things! You could put all of our names on it so it wouldn't all be on you....
Is it just how we're raised that we all think of hundreds of disastrous things that could have happened?

Lori so sorry about you co workers daughter...
Judy, hope DH is feeling better.

Happy Labor Day!

We went down to Canal Side ( a place down near the harbor where they have concerts etc), walked around a bit and had lunch there. It was a nice relaxing time. Then I came home and crashed. I may try a workout today, I'll see how I feel.

Lori, so sorry about your friend's daughter...I see that they cancelled the last day of that festival.

Judy, scary about your DH, glad it was not anything heart related, but still, stress can do a lot of things to you...I fully understand with FIL etc, and it sounds like he has a stressful job. Hope is better today. Is he off from work today?

John may go fishing, I have lots of HouseMax that has been ignored.

Later...

Hi Ladies,

It has been very hot and humid in LA for a couple of weeks. I will be doing my workout at the pool today.

Deb, I agree with the rest of the ladies about sending Garance a note to see how she is doing. I pray that everything is ok. Deb, I'm glad that you are feeling better.

Judy, I'm glad your DH is ok. It sounds like he is stresses with work and taking care of his dad. He needs to take some time off for himself.

Lory, sorry to hear about your co-workers DD. I read the article and can't imagine what she is going through.

Hi to Valerie!

Josie

we did a 25 mile ride yesterday. had a dinner to go to in the evening and so of course, our cat decided to play hide and seek until the last minute. he does it maybe once a year... but showed up at the last minute like he hadn't been ignoring us for 2 hours. he usually is easily findable so when I can't find him, I get worried.

so sad about that young woman dying at the concert. kids just don't realize that bad things can happen and in that kind of atmosphere.... you need to protect yourself no one is looking out for your wellbeing except maybe your closest friends. a terrible price to pay. so sad for her family.

Deb, are you going to try and reach Lynda? this really has been a long stretch so something unexpected must have happened. I do hope she ( and her family) are okay. let us know what you decide and include all our names ....

Hi Everyone,

Last night I did Butts & Guts Leg Blast premix with Core 2 from Xtrain. Today I ran/walked 4 miles.

DH is feeling much better now. He has the day off and is working around the condo, nothing stressful, just things he likes to do. We have tomorrow off too, and he can have the day to himself. I'm trying to help him have time to himself so I am keeping myself busy with workouts, housemax, etc. I'm also trying to schedule some of his father's medical appointments to take that stress off of him. SIL will be back in October to take FIL to 2 appointments. It looks like his macular degeneration is getting worse and he is probably going to lose his ability to drive soon. That has been a huge stress for DH, as he is afraid he will have to do everything for FIL after that. SIL is serious about taking FIL to Colorado, and that upsets DH even more as he doesn't want to be so far away from his father... Lots going on here and if I didn't have my workouts I'd probably lose it. I wish I could get DH back into exercise mode, he really needs that for stress relief.

Valerie-whenever we leave we always look for the cats too. Sometimes they hide and I get worried when I can't find them. One time I couldn't find Misty, our black cat, and DH and I were searching everywhere. All of a sudden I hear DH yelling "you put her in the dresser!", apparently she jumped in a dresser drawer that I had open and buried herself under some clothes. I had shut the drawer with her in it  No more leaving drawers open..

I really hope Lynda is ok.

Judy

Hi,

I heard from Lynda!

She is ok...she said she just needs a break from the forums for a while....she is fine and no one should worry, she is busy with her writing, t all is ok.

I am so glad that nothing happened...hope she is able to drop back in soon.

Deb

Hi Deb,

Thank you for the information, I'm glad she is ok :)
Regarding the DVD the answer is yes.

Josie

Deb...thanks for the good news. Glad all is well.

Valerie...I am sending my spin dvd to you correct?

Yes Lori. I am going to be traveling a bit for the next 6-8 weeks but I will be checking in before then. I can send you my address in a pm or you can send the disk with your return address on the envelope or inside and I'll send a check when I'm here. If i'm not posting, I'm gone somewhere.

so many areas have been very smoky out west... the plume from the California fire and a fire closer to home nave messed up a lot of geography, plus it's been hot and a lot of smaller fires spread out all around haven't helped. with the fires we haven't gone far afield. western WA has been the best place to be so we've stayed here.
we have a wedding in lake Tahoe soon .... can't believe I bought tickets for 9/11.... so will be gone for that, then back for a bit and then testing out what retirement is really like.

Good morning,

Well it's the start of a new week, and good news...it's only 4 days! Spent the afternoon at the hospital yesterday with my cousin. My aunt was taken in late Sunday...she is not doing well at all. They did a chest x-ray and found a mass on her lung....CT scan is supposed to be done today. The poor lady has suffered for 15 years. If it is cancer, my cousins are going to have to make a decision on what care to do, how aggressive etc. :(

Judy, Glad your DH feels better and took some time for himself yesterday. LOL about the cat in the drawer....I bet it wasn't funny when it happened though.

Josie, retirement sounds heavenly.

Lori, so sad about the DD of your co-worker. I didn't even know what they were talking about...shows how out of it I am.

Valerie, the fire out west is very scary...SIL lives about 100 miles from Yosemite. What tickets for 9/11 are you referring to? I must have missed something.

Work, then home to relax..
