Cathlete
Good morning,

Today I did LIVE Metabolic 300. 48 minutes, 296 calories. This was a celebration of Cathe's 300th Live workout. 30 exercises, 1 set of each, 10 reps. It was a lot of fun, and the time went by really fast. There were only a couple I had to modify, mostly to do with side planks. I just can't do those. Today as soon as the workout started, the audio went out. I cut the power to the Chromecast, waited 20 seconds, then started it again. It worked, but still had some buffering. I hate when that happens. I think I may be shopping for a new router today.

Valerie, enjoy your friend's visit this week.! A dog that will stay with you while you hike, off leash is a great thing. Even with all the training my 2 have had, I would never let them off leash outside. Their instinct to chase anything on the ground, squirrel, mice, rabbits is too strong. All the training in the world is not going to win over what their instinct is and hundreds of years of breeding for that task. I could never forgive myself if something happened to one of them or they were lost.

Carolyn, Nice job on Muscle Endurance. right! 57 minutes is considered "express"? LOL....

Christine, any garden work, especially weeding is considered a workout! :) Great idea to use those containers for seedlings. We put ours in our recycle bin....I thought they were recyclable?

Diane Sue, nice workouts! On that one workout, I don't think I would like doing mountain climbers between other exercises either. See my comment above on the router. You are pretty patient! I don't think I could wait that long for a log in page to come up. :)

Hi to Judy & Lori

Take care,

Good morning!. Deb we kept him on his leash with pinch collar on, because other chokers fell off. we tucked the leash into his doggie backpack. so he thought he was still on leash but really wasn't. he walked right in front of us or between us. we attached him to a tree or bush while setting up camp but he never tried to run off. when we had to cross log bridges one of us went first, then he would cross to the person on the other side. Dobies don't have that "chase anything" instinct. we let him pick his own way around big obstacles. really big downed trees we'd tap on what he needed to go over and sometimes give him a boost to get to the top. we even ran into a bear cub once but he was cool and stuck with us. we used to say he had more hiking experience than most people. slept in the tent with us.
off to head for shopping in bozeman.

Good afternoon. Today is my rest day. I just finished our weekly Zoom family get together, which was nice. I really miss seeing my family in person. It’s very difficult with everyone so spread out geographically.

Deb, nice job with Live Metabolic 300. I’m glad that the streaming worked for you.

Waving hello to everyone. Have a wonderful day.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Intervals #5 which is boxing, kettlebell swings, and 10# dumbbell work, 25 minutes, 92 calories. I don't think this was near right, but happy I got something in before church today. I am waiting for it to cool off to go outside and mow.

Deb, we got a new panoramic router when we upgraded a few weeks ago. Things are working great and streaming is no problem. Just the issue which I am sure is the older laptop. I need to figure out where the defrag is on it and also seem if I can shut down some start up programs. Internet company kept telling me I needed an upgrade, but my old router matched what they said for numbers. I just figured they wanted to sell me a new router since we had quite a fight getting to use the one we purchased at Best Buy. It was on Cox cables list and the installer had to get a supervisor to help and the contractor supervisor called Cox Cable and told them they had to let the go through. So it has been an ongoing problem.

Valerie, amazing your dog stayed with you like that. Gertie's hunting instincts would surely send her off after the next squirrel that ran up a tree. She is fine with people, but critters is a whole other story. I go out with her and she can be calm till she spots something in the yard and then she is off like a shot. On leash I can pull back and say no and she will stay with me.

Carolyn, have a nice rest day. We will be having another family gathering on father's day I think. Two birthdays coming up this month as well. Nice that you can do the zoom with everyone spread out like that. I did the yoga yesterday so worked in a short workout this morning.

I am no genius on dogs for sure, but he behaved like a trained " service dog"....when he had his collar and pack on he was "working" and was really paying attention to us. at home out in the yard he was more relaxed. he was a great guy. I could not face getting another after he died. we had a kitty too and I stuck with kitties afterwards. now along with TP and hand sanitizer, adoptable kitties are in short supply.

Deb if I remember right, you have a land line and a security system. that is where we run into issues buying an OTC router. we stay with one from the cable people or be willing and able to figure out the new system ourselves. we have not wanted to try yet. what we use now works, and the security system upgrade will be expensive and may be hard to get working right. eventually we will need to do it but if it ain't broke , we don't want to "fix" it.

we have used facetime and zoom recently to chat with cousin and other friends. DH said it was easy to set up. I have participated but not done it myself.

This morning I did ICE Bootcamp Circuit for 45 minutes and 261 calories burned. My average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 145.

Hello to All, and have a wonderful day.

Yesterday I did Raw Intervals #5, 25 minutes, heart rate average 108/max 151, 92 calories, 1,284 steps. This was not picking my heart rate up well and I gave up trying to get it to pick up my heart rate.
Today I did Coffey Fit Raw Step #3 modifying the weight moves so I did not hit the shoulders since they are compound moves, 43 minutes, 230 calories, heart rate 127/163, 4,220 steps. I followed this with Kelly Coffey TMTF Body Training workout #1 which is all standing. I used to have this, but have no idea where it went to. No weights required and just all lower body for workout 1. This was 35 minutes, 91 calories, heart rate 94/116, 1,237 steps. Total time was 78 minutes, 321 calories, 5,457 steps. I finally got my computer to start up quickly. Just went through things and removed some more stuff on the start up. I still had Netgear Genie on it and we have a cox cable modem now so uninstalled that.

I had my rescheduled mammogram at 8:30 this morning, so no workout today. My appointment went well, but they didn’t review my results afterwards. They didn’t want anyone sitting and waiting for the radiologist to read the results. There were more patients than I expected, but not crowded at all. The waiting room is very large so people were well spaced.

Diane Sue, I have that Body Training dvd, but I’ve only done it one time. I don’t always click with Kelly’s workouts for some reason. That’s good that you have your laptop working better.

Hello to Deb, Valerie, Lori, Judy, and Christina.

Today I did Ramped Up Upper Body with Bonus Abs.

I went back to work yesterday, the first time since March 15th. It was so nice to be back and so very different from when I was last there. Everyone is wearing masks, and trying to follow social distancing protocols. A lot of extra cleaning and disinfecting is being done there too. I only had a 4 hour shift and had over 10,000 steps just at work. I work again tomorrow afternoon then the weekend.

Deb-Great job with Live Metabolic 300! I plan on doing that one soon. I hope you found a new router.

Diane Sue-Nice job with the Raw workouts and Body Training.

Carolyn-That's good that you were able to get your mammogram done.

Hi to Valerie, Lori & Christina!

Judy

we mt biked this morning, 2 hrs 15 minutes. it was pretty cold but somehow I perform much better than I do in warmer weather. a week ago we did this ride and I had to stop several times on the way up, but today I rode the whole thing with both of us stopping only briefly for a posture break at the mid point. so pretty out!
carolyn, I just went thru the mammogram dance. it is such a massive relief to get that "all clear" information . the place I go to was pretty empty both times I went. of all things, I miss the magazines and in the room you wait in after an u/s there used to have snacks and water, and that was all cleared out. if you want to read, you must bring it with you. no one else I the room either.

our houseguests are arriving this afternoon so I will be likely skipping posts for a few days.

judy, good that returning to work felt OK. after being confined so long, even work must seem like a good thing.

Lori I tried the chicken pot pie and liked it a lot. I didn't do it exactly the same way because I had a bit of slightly stale French bread to use up, so I made the top crust with that. the filling was very tasty. next time I will try it with the pastry topping. a good basic recipe. I will need to look at the jenny site when I have more time to spare. thanks for posting it.

I am sticking with my LITE theme this week: I did Metabolic Blast today. I really love that one. It’s not too hard, and the music puts me in a good mood. Plus Cathe uses really light weights, so I get to use the same weights as Cathe for once!

Deb - that LIVE workout sounds super fun: I will have to try it this week. Amazing that Cathe has made 300 live workouts: she’s such a powerhouse!

Valerie - You must live in a very beautiful part of the country; what a treat for you and your dog to hike in such lovely surroundings. He sounds like he was a wonderful companion. I have tried once or twice to train my cats to use a leash, but the results were…mixed. Now we have a cat-proof fence around part of our property so they can safely get some fresh air. They love it!

Diane - You workout schedule is awe inspiring! I hope that the computer issues get resolved; they can be so frustrating. I agree that the store’s answer always seems to be that we need to buy a new one. They wish! Just like my car, I’m going to keep using this computer until it gives up the ghost.

Carolyn - Good on you for taking care of your health; I am overdue for a mammogram, but we’ve just moved to a new town and I don’t have a ob/gyn yet. Which is no excuse and I had better stop putting it off!

Judy - It must have been strange going back to work with all the new policies and cleaning protocols in place. I am glad that your company is taking precautions to keep everyone safe. They are talking about my husband going back to work in a few more weeks too. I am not sure how I feel about it, but I think he is ready. He misses interacting face to face with his co-workers.

Hi to all -- Have a wonderful week! --Christina

I was so tired this morning. I got up early to go to ladies game day and a celebration of one of their birthday. I tried to get to bed earlier, but it was 12:30 (better than 2) Woke at 4 after a restless sleep and tried to go back to sleep. I got ready and went to Sprouts thinking I would pick up some flowers and a card along with a brunch item to take and forgot my wallet. I had to run back home and get it and went back to the check out. I forgot the flowers and card :( So, I went with just the rolls. Still had a nice time, but no energy to go to Walmart afterward like I planned. I figured as tired as I was I would forget what I went to Walmart for. I will make a plan for tomorrow or Thursday. No workout, and for some reason both shoulders were hurting when I woke up this morning. I will get in a good workout tomorrow ;)

Carolyn, I really like Kelly best on her Raw workouts. I like her interacting with her friends when she has them there, her little quips and oops! Also her little form pointers she will add or suggestions on modifications or intensifying workouts. You don't get all of that with the dvds. But, you get the pre-mixes. She gets better with them all of the time. She just filmed a raw workout with the girls outside in her driveway. The non weight workout was not bad though. I was thinking it would be better with ankle weights.
I am surprised they didn't at least check the mammogram results to make sure it all went correctly so you don't have to return again. I have never been called back on a mammogram myself. They usually look at it to make sure they got what they need before they go to the next group of images.

Judy, I bet it did feel different being back at work. I am glad you enjoyed being back. I would imagine you will have a lot of steps again. Nice work on Ramped Up Upper Body.

Valerie, nice work doing better on this ride than last time. I noticed the last two doctor visits that there was no magazines or the usual coffee machine. The eye surgeon's office did have a water machine though, but it was set up with individual wrapped paper cups and there was a woman that kept wiping it all down. I wouldn't go for it though. I carry my own water with me, spray sanitizer in my purse, and wouldn't mind some antibacterial wipes. I think Sprouts has those in stock now. I read on my tablet or cell phone. My daughter mentioned to me years ago the drawbacks of magazines and stuff in doctors offices in the waiting room where sick people are. Things sure have changed though, because we used to handle all of this stuff with no problems. Enjoy your houseguests visit.

Christina, nice work doing the Lite workouts this week. I like the Lite Metabolic workout. I also like the Ice Metabolic workout although Cathe does go a bit heavier on it. I generally keep computers till they quit, but for some reason my husband thought I was griping a lot about my computer and bought me a new one. So now I am into a Windows 10. I use the other for upstairs in my workout room. It seems to be working better now that I removed some things from the start up. I am glad that I have two. I still have my Windows 7 laptop as well. I let my granddaughter use it when she stays with me. She is 12. These children are so good with computers. She whizzes through things. Has set up her youtube channel and makes animations to music. Something that I sure couldn't do.

Hi to Lori and Deb, home you have had a good day.

Good morning ladies!

The usual workouts this week. Sbf challenge workout of the day and then a bounce. I did add in an hour of total body sculpt one day that used only bands and the fire walker loops. I love using just bands everynow and then. Works my muscles so differently - my thighs are feeling it today.

Had my annual eye exam and all is good. No changes - I am very happy about this. Hate when my eyes change then I need to get all new glasses. I have several pairs plus I can’t live without my prescription sunglass. I also have several of these!

Also, had my annual physical and waiting for my lab work. Little nervous about my A1C results. Being home has recked havoc on my diet.

Deb...that is crazy Cathe celebrated her 300th LIVE! I still remember when she first started and thinking wow she is brilliant. I do miss some of the kickboxing and fit tower workouts. I very rarely do sideplanks anymore. Bothers my shoulder so I avoid as to not have a flare up. What I do instead is stand up with 10 or 12lb weights in each hand and alternate leaning side to side. So frustrating have the streaming challenge. Good you were able to finish the workout.

Valerie...my brother had 2 Dobermans and wow they were beautiful and so well behaved. He now has 3 cats! He is a big burley man with tattoos and turns to mush when he sees his cats. It really is cute. My son and his girlfriend have been trying to adopt a dog and none of the shelters in our area have any for adoption. They were told with so many people out of work people thought this would be a good time to train a pet. They told them to sit tight, as soon as people go back to work and realize how much time a pet requires, they will be returning them. This is actually very sad. Glad you liked the pie and love the idea of using up the bread. That was wise. Next time I make it I am planning to make scratch biscuits for the topping. I like her recipes a lot.

Carolyn...isn’t Zoom amazing! Still not the same as being able to hug your children, but nice to be able to talk, laugh, smile and sometimes cry together with your loved ones. I have been using zoom once a week with my good friends. We love our calls.

Diane Sue...I do that all the time! Forget stuff I needed to get at the store. Used to drive my husband crazy but now he just shakes his head and rolls his eyes at me. Lol!! I know what you mean about Kelly. She has such a great personality. You have done great with her raw workouts. I enjoyed them when I was using her site. Is her price still 6.99?

Christine...great job on the Lite workout. This really is a great program. Today I plan to do Rev’d up and Rumble and the fire walker calorie crush. Hahah on using the same weights as Cathe! I hear you there!

Judy...congrats on going back to work. Still nothing on my end, and fine with this. When I was at my physical this week I was mentioning about the health issues my husband has faced the past few months and we are being extremely careful..she was quick to mention, that I am at a higher risk also due to having diabetes. I know I am - just scary to be reminded. :(

Have a great day all!

Today I did Chris Freytag’s Fight Cellulite Fast Cardio. It was 48 minutes and 329 calories burned. My average heart rate was 129 and maximum heart rate was 150. This workout has cardio intervals from level one to level three cardio blasts and is low impact.

Judy, great job with Ramped Up Upper Body. That’s one of my favorites. I’m glad that your return to work is going smoothly. It took businesses a while to understand the pandemic and the safety precautions needed, but many have done a good job of adjusting.

Christina, Metabolic Blast is a good one. I’m glad that you enjoyed it.

Diane Sue, it’s very frustrating to go to the grocery store then forget something that you need. It’s understandable when you are tired. I wasn’t very concerned about them not checking the results of my mammogram on the spot this time. I will see my Breast Specialist next week and she will review everything.

Lori, great job keeping up with your workouts. I don’t blame you for not wanting to go back to work yet. My husband decided that it was time for him to give up his part time job last month and I was very happy about that. Zoom is wonderful. This morning I “attended” my granddaughter’s virtual graduation from 5th grade. It was so sweet. I can’t believe that she is about to go to middle school.

Valerie, enjoy your visit with your friends. It’s nice that they can join you there.

Hello to Deb. Have a wonderful day everyone.

I did Intensity timesaver double hiit +bootcamp (this kept me off the step)47 minutes, 225 calories, heart rate 124/163, 3,609 steps. My dvd player froze up and skipped the high hiit segment and went straight to bootcamp after low hiit so I went back and did the high hit from the workout blender. Weird though as it worked fine then, just not on the premix. I then did Raw metabolic 6 & 6, 34 minutes, heart rate 129/153, 166 calories, 676 steps. Total time was 80 minutes, 391 calories, 4,285 steps. I used 12# dumbbells for all but the last two rounds on the side lunge/overhead press I dropped to 10's then on the last set I changed it to biceps curls. Too much on the shoulders for me today. Also last set of push ups I did the plank and back squeezes I do in Lindsey Samper's #11 instead of push ups.
Moves for Metabolic 6 & 6 each move is 30 seconds
side to side lunge to overhead press
renegade row right/left/push up
skate swings (dumbbells swing up from the sides)
alternating lunges
connected dumbbell push ups
sit ups with dumbbell

I went to big Walmart today. I won't be going back for a long time. They still have all of their safety stuff in affect, one way aisles and tons of people inside shopping. Aisles were clogged and I kept having to find the correct arrow direction to come around to where I wanted to go. I just gave up on some items. I got my new replacement wood spice rack and have been washing and filling jars and putting on labels. It will be nice when I am done and so much more convenient than trying to dig in the lower cabinet turntable and find which plastic shoebox container has the spice I am looking for. I started with the most used spices. Wondered why I ended up with 3 jars of coriander. I must not have been able to find it and purchased more. Two have not been opened. It is not a spice I use a lot either.

Lori, I like to do workouts that are different with bands or no weights once in awhile. Kelly has a large variety of workouts now. She also added all of her 30 minutes to fitness dvds to her streaming. Yes, still only 6.99. She just filmed a cardio workout with the others that are in some of her streaming and dvds outside in her driveway. It will be up soon. I really like her workouts a lot.
I am always getting side tracked and forgetting items at the store. Even with a list. Today I forgot the dental floss as I had walked by the aisle and needed to come back around the direction of the arrows and people were all in this area it seemed. I got all of the way to the other side of the store when I remembered I just decided to let that go. I was ready to go home.
I am sure there will be a lot of dogs going back to the shelters. So, sad that people don't think straight. I hope your results come out okay. I hear a lot of people talking about their diets being off since all of this has happened. Mine keeps getting off a bit since my husband works nights and I get done and sit here reading and on the computer till the wee hours and end up having a snack attack. One night I ate a third of a bag of Cheetos. Not sure what got into me. I have had a craving for salty things and am always trying to curb that because of my dry mouth issue the doctor said is probably sjogrens. I love chips and usually keep them out of the house, but my husband has started wanting them in his lunch that he takes to work.

Carolyn, the grandchildren grow up too fast. Nice that you got to see her zoom graduation. I miss all of the fun I had with the older crew years ago. I don't have the other three almost every day like I did them. The oldest of the young group will be a middle schooler. She was in the 5th and 6th grade intermediate school the last two years. I took her for her 5th grade orientation and to her future classrooms with her since her mother had to be at her school as a teacher and could not be there. There are disadvantages on things like that for teachers with children.

This morning I did Ramped Up Upper Body for 49 minutes and 255 calories burned. My average heart rate was 117 and maximum heart rate was 151. Judy‘s workout the other day reminded me that I wanted to do this one.

Diane Sue, great job with Intensity double HiiT plus bootcamp, Raw Metabolic and Lindsey Samper Yoga. Nice workout. Your new spice rack sounds nice. It’s easy to forget what you have on hand when you can’t see them.

Waving a big hello to everyone. Have a wonderful day.

Today I did Raw Cardio Tone Intervals, 21 minutes, heart rate 121/165, 132 calories, 2,136 steps followed by Jessica Smith Walk Strong and Have Fun, Ready Steady Go, 34 minutes, 182 calories, heart rate 129/169, 3,196 steps. I finished with Lindsey Samper Yoga Therapy safe stretches and add on poses (don't care for add on poses and I realized I had done this one before) Time was 32 minutes, 31 calories, 86 steps.
Total time was 97 minutes, 345 calories, 5,418 steps.

Carolyn, nice work on Ramped Up Upper Body today. Funny I scrolled up because for some reason I thought that you already did this one the other day. So, it must have been Judy.

Diane Sue, yes it was Judy. The rotation had Chiseled Upper Body scheduled this week, but I have done that several times recently. Ramped Up Upper Body was the change that I needed today. Great job with Raw Cardio Tone Intervals and the JS Walk Strong.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I worked 4 hours at HD. This morning I did XTrain Cardio Leg Blast, Strength Only Premix. I added on Core 2 and the 100 rep scarecrow challenge. This afternoon I did a Peloton ride.

Carolyn-Great job with Ramped Up Upper Body! I think that is my favorite upper body workout.

Diane Sue-Nice workouts! How is your fitbit working? I'm having an issue with mine losing steps. I was at over 12,000 steps yesterday and it suddenly dropped down to 1,750. I went on the Fitbit forums and it seems like a lot of people are having that happen this week.

Lori- Nice workouts! I think about SBF every once in while but I haven't done one of her workouts in ages. That is really sad about dogs going back to the shelters. I am sure that will happen too. That's great that your eye exam went well. I hope your A1C results are good too.

Christina-Great job with LITE! That is a great series. I agree, it feels so good to do a Cathe workout and use the weights she is using!

Hi to Deb & Valerie!

Judy

Today I did JS HiiT Walk from the 30 Day Plan. That was 30 minutes and 221 calories burned. My average heart rate was 132 and maximum heart rate was 160.

Judy, I looked at the Cardio Leg Blast Strength premix in the X Train user guide. There are so many premixes that I had not noticed the strength only. I need to remember that one in the future. Great workouts this week.
