Good morning,

Another hot one yesterday, and no rain. Prediction is the same for today. Happy Father's Day to all Fathers out there. Any celebrations today?

Lori, nice workout plan yesterday. You seem to really be enjoying the SB workouts. I agree, To the Mat is not a favorite, I don't even think I did it once. Maybe a premix, but I never picked it up again. I should have sold it on Ebay, maybe still will. What is the mix of rosehips and coconut oil? 50/50? That sounds like it would be great for your skin.

Valerie, I would like to see those animals, but would be too scared to get close....especially bears! You are so right on texting and spelling....I think texting was the start of the acceptance of misspelled words.

Lynda, yes, all the health info that is out there is about how bad sitting is for you. Like you, I find that I have been sitting a lot more since I retired. I didn't realize how much I walked around when I was working. It seemed like all I did was sit in meetings, ( that happened a lot too) but the building was very large and I was always walking to somewhere in between. Wasn't that a killer core section at the end of the PHAT workout? I could only do 2 of the repeated string of exercises, and still felt it the next day. Good that Max is smart enough not to tangle with bears!

Diane Sue, I never found harnesses to be good for dogs to learn to walk better on leash. They allow them to pull even harder. What type of leash/collar do you use with Gertie? Thanks for the info on the Tarte BB cream. It sounds nice. Great that you got it with free gifts....where was that offered? That must have been pretty scary with a bull running after your SIL! My mother made the best apple pie, but I never tried it myself.

Josie, We have not heard from you since the ride....hope all is ok.

Hi to Judy, & Caitlin,

Not much here, a workout, then HouseMax, and YardMax for me.

Take care,

Hi Ladies,

I was resting and trying to get back to normal. I got back on June 11th and took Sunday and Monday off and on Tuesday I went for a run and Karina came over. On Wednesday I was so sore and decided to rest, Thursday I went to bodypump and Karina came over, Friday was a rest day and yesterday I ran 3 miles and then went to the gym and did 30 minutes of zumba and then bodypump. The only thing that I was behind on was my sleep and after a few day I was able to catch up.

Deb, thank you for checking up on me :).

Judy, thank you so much for posting the picture for me. I got home on and cleaned my bike and my cleats and I will not be ridding for a couple of weeks. I do plan on doing some spinning classes, but want to run more during the summer.

Garance, are you still using the Murad vitamin C? I want to start working on the sun spots on my face since I will not be ridding much. All the products alway recommend that you stay out of the sun.

Valerie, my DD always says that I text as If I was writing a letter. I alway check my spelling.

Hi to Lori and Diane Sue!

I need to go back and read all the posts from last week to see what's going on :).

Josie

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live low impact cardio leg blast plus ball upper body (53 min.). No problems with streaming--maybe because Kim rebooted everything. This was a good workout for me--another 5 rating.

Welcome back, Josie! Glad you have been taking a well-deserved rest from all that biking. I have not been using the Essential-C, but maybe I should again. During the winter months it is too drying for me.

Kim is off haying today again. Really good season for him this year. Some years it is endless frustration with the weather, but not this year.

Diane Sue, my husband had a bull for several years, but he did not have horns. Even so, as he got older, he became more threatening. Kim would sometimes knock him with a wooden mallet on his big head to keep him from being over-eager when he threw out hay. He also had to tie down the feeders constantly because Kool (the bull's name) would butt them and lift them up. I was really glad when Kim decided to give up the breeding program and just buy calves from farmers after they had been weaned.

Deb, we have had a string of warm, but not hot nor humid days. Very pleasant. I hope next weekend is as beautiful because we start our Jacob's Pillow season next Saturday.

Lori, are you ready for the Battle of the Bastards tonight? Can't wait.

Josie congrats on finishing the ride. I can understand not wanting to ride for a few weeks!

I did one of the ICE workouts yesterday...forgetting the name. Metabolic? need to look again I grabbed two disks and only did one and I'm forgetting. plus the Icy core. a good workout, I liked it pretty well except, as usual, music was too loud. not as bad as a couple other of the disks.

I too check my spelling and punctuation even when texting.... something I am just starting to use. our previous phone program charged for every one so I didn't use it often.

I should add that we don't try to get "too close" to animals but if you sit quietly, they often come pretty close to you, especially in parks where they aren't hunted. big horns and mt goats especially. some of my best experiences! Bears especially grizzlies, we stay WAY back. you see some of the most stupid things you will ever see in parks.

Good afternoon!

No workout today. Was planning to but we were up early doing errands now it is just to hot to go and workout. Perhaps later this evening I will be able to fit something in.

Welcome back Josie! Gald you are rested. Very impressed you pretty much got right back into your workouts. The pictures were awesome. Really enjoyed seeng them all.

Deb...I love doing SB workouts. I usually up the weights and use ankle weights to make the workouts more intense to my liking. But some days I just go along with what she is doing. I love her personality. My knee is feeling great so going to get back into doing more Live. I am missing them. Going to still keep it low impact for a bit though. I did To The Max once and quickly knew this was not for me.

Valerie...ran a load of dishes today and the machine is unbelievably quite even with the padding removed. We love it.

Lynda...glad you liked the workout. I will be doing this one again soon. Deb...you will like this one too! Yeah Jacob's Pillow hard t believe it is that time! I am looking forward to the battle tonight!!!! My husband has no desire to watch it so I will be watching alone. We did start watch the OJ series on ESPN. Like you said he really was the man in football back them. Unbelievable talent. Shame how things turned out.

We are relaxing this afternoon. Grilling later the relaxing some more. Bob and I made smores last night over the fire pit. Was fun and we felt like kids. :)

Hi to Judy, Diane Sue and Caitlin!

Today is a rest day and family will be coming soon. I have my cobbler in the oven. I made a Paleo version last night and sampled it. It was yummy. I am not sure what I will do for a workout tomorrow yet.

Deb, my husband ordered a harness called the Freedom Harness that has some padding and velvet backing to keep from rubbing from Amazon. I am hoping it works well. It was the most costly one I saw and had high reviews. A lot said it worked well. There was a few that it did not work for. I usually just use the metal chain around her neck. I hate that when she decides to pull though. I tried a leash with a loop that went around the neck that was soft and it did not work well. It didn't last long either. I went to tug her back when we were kite flying and with my grandson and it broke. I am glad that didn't happen at the vets office. The vet said so many people attach the leash to the collar and their dogs get loose in the office. He liked the idea of the loop leash. Gertie doesn't pull non stop. My husband would pull her back and if she pulled again he stopped and made her sit. I have a prong collar I bought for Mudd but I only tried it once and I hated it. She was my real stubborn dog and never would give up pulling. She was shorter than Gertie but that dog was really strong. We had a park one block over from our house before we moved here and I would take her for walks around it thinking she would improve. She pulled with the prong collar and I couldn't just keep letting that happen. Anyway, I am hoping this works. Gertie is not real stubborn. I have ran with her and she did pretty well once I got her to not run in front of me. I need her to do well when we go to for our cabin stay next month.

Josie, I bet you did need a rest after the long ride. I enjoyed seeing the pictures. It looked like there was some fun times :)

Lynda, my daughter said that some people remove the horns. All of her cattle have names. The adult bull is Kermit and I remember Gracie which was their first calf that they purchased. They have a baby bull that gets pushed out and picked on right now. He kind of stayed out of the way of the others. My grandfather died from a heart attack when he was in his 60's. I thought they said he was chasing a bull. Maybe it was the other way around. I never could figure out why he was chasing it.

Valerie, I keep thinking of you and the loud sounds when doing the Ice workouts when I do some of the 21 Day Fix Extreme workouts. There is a beeping tone in the background every little bit. When I first noticed it I stopped and was looking to see what was beeping. Later I realized it was in the background of the music. It bothers me. I think it best to just watch and stay clear of wild animals. When I was a child and we were in the mountains in Colorado I had a chipmunk try to bite me when I reached out to it. It came really close. After that I always kept my distance. One of my daughters thought one of the animals, I think a badger or otter , was cute when it come up to the edge and poked its head at her. I nipped the end of her finger right when I went to warn her. We were in a nature center in the Arbuckles. Obviously even animals that are around humans are not to be trusted. Just look at the different zoo incidents.

Lorie, every time you mention using your fire pit I think how one daughter uses her fire pit for smores and the other has an indoor smores maker. I used to make them using the flame from my gas stove or the fireplace. Cathe, has quite a few live workouts than can be used for low impact work.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Metabolic Conditioning, and a lot of weeding. Still no rain, and we need it badly. The grass is starting to get brown. We can't water it enough.

Josie, you really got back into it quickly, after the ride! Really enjoyed the pictures.

Lynda, thanks for the rating. With what you and Lori said, I think I will do that workout tomorrow.

Valerie, yes, we have read some really stupid things people do with wild animals...like taking selfies with a black bear right behind them...dumb, dumb people. I think the workout from ICE is called Metabolic Total Body. A good one. I do the same thing when texting....back spacing to erase and correct.

Lori, Nothing says you cannot take a complete day off! Relaxing and making Smores sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day. As for OJ, it is hard for Buffalo football fans to connect that beloved athlete that used to be here, with the person that did what he did later on....

Diane Sue, I hope the harness works with Gertie, I never heard of that brand, will go over to Amazon and look it up. How do you make a Paleo cobbler? no sugar or flour? There is one workout I have done, I think it's probably a Cathe one, that there is some type of ringing or something in the music that makes me stop and listen to see if it's our phone....

Hi to Judy & Caitlin,

A workout, maybe help my cousin with her work, and late class tonight,

Take care,

Deb, here is a link to the harness. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00B0NR8TM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I guess I it does not work I have another item to add to my collection of pet stuff :) I really think she would be fine if we got out with her more. I have so many different leashes and around here. My husband usually likes the really short ones. I have a set of training leads and video by Don Sullivan "The Dog Father" with an adjustable training collar that we I used when she was a puppy. They worked pretty well for training but I wouldn't walk her with them. There are no handles. That training collar is sort of like the prong collar but made out of a sort of plastic material. It helped quite a lot with the start up training. I saw someone asked if you could leave the harness on all of the timeo_O I seriously thought why would someone do that to their dog?
I have heard phones ringing in the background on workouts too. One thing I hate is television ads with doorbell ringing. Gertie barks and gets excited and I have ran downstairs to see who was at the door in the middle of my workout.

too funny... I don't know how many times I've thought the phone or doorbell was ringing when I was doing a workout! I stop the player and try to listen for it again... I enjoyed Ice metabolic, & got sore in some odd places. I really don't like any of the music in this series but this one was the least loud/bad.

I used to use a pinch collars with the prongs on our dog. the regular choker collars slid off over his head if he put his head down, while the pinch ones didn't. he had a smooth coat and a head and neck close to the same size. we trained him to walk between us, with me in the front when hiking. we never let him run ahead and get into trouble like so many people do these days.

took the day off yesterday. will road ride today.

we've spent a lot of time in yellowstone and the surrounding area. if you walk anywhere off the road on a trail you can cut the crowds by 99%.most people drive thru and look only from the roadside. we've seen people getting WAY too close to bears, and bison. we got caught in traffic going across a bridge and saw someone reach out a car window and grab a bison by it's coat causing sort of a stampede. sometimes it's best to observe from your vehicle, like a blind. animals are used to cars.
a few exceptions... like the trails around the thermal features. we prefer being there in the off season. we have a spotting scope and use it a lot there.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did Live RS (53 min.). Quite different IMO from ICE RS. The first part is punching drills with 3 tabatas; the second part, you take off your gloves and do kicks; the third part is pretty intense cardio, but short. Definitely more challenging than the ICE version, and I worked up quite a sweat. You could easily divide this one up if you did not want to do the whole thing.

Diane Sue, not all bovine breeds have horns. Kool never had them. Dehorning can be pretty awful--bloody and painful--but horns can also be very dangerous or give a cow dominance in the herd, which was definitely true of one of Kim's cows--Mary. She just lorded over the other cows and would use her horns to push cows lower in the pecking order away from the feeder. I don't know why you would want to leave a harness on all the time either. Max's collar comes off at night because he jingles with it on and wakes us up.

There is a film by Werner Herzog called Grizzly Man about a man who spent part of his year with grizzlies up in Alaska. It's a documentary with a lot of footage made by him with the grizzlies. He looks and sounds like a surfer dude, who believed he could be best buddies with these bears and, well, you can guess what happened to him eventually. Voiceover commentary by Herzog. I wrote a piece on this film in conjunction with another by Herzog: Aguirre, the Wrath of God. Both films reflect his view of nature as soulless--very Germanic I think. We project human consciousness onto nature at our peril is one of his favored themes.

Deb, we need rain here as well. Very hot and dry today, but expecting some rain tonight (I hope!).

Lori, hope you enjoyed GOT last night as much as I did! I watched the entire OJ series and found it ultimately quite depressing. Compelling but depressing.

Today I wanted to do some kettlebell work. I started out with the warm up from P90X2 PAP lower, 15 minutes, 48 calories. I then did Kelly Coffey Strength and Stamina Lower Body Time Crunch with swings, 24 minutes, 150 calories, HR 117 avg./ 147 max. I then did Kelly's SLim Sculpting, lower and swings mix, 39 minutes, HR 125 avg/148 max, 280 calories. I added on Lauren Brooks ultimate body sculpt and conditioning with kettlebells vol. 3 lower workout segment 14 minutes, 81 calories. Since there was not a stretch segment listed I did the stretch from Amy Ross kettlebell Power 6 minutes. I added some stretches for the forearms because they get sore when I have not done kettlebells for awhile. Total workout was 1 hour 46 minutes and calories 574. I was digging through my workouts and got out my notebooks so I can look at some of the moves so I can see what I want to put together.. I won't do a kettlebell workout again this week until Friday or Saturday. I have my grandson 3 days this week and there is not kettlebell swinging with young children coming into the room. I have to chase Gertie out. I like the kettlebell workouts because there is not a lot of jumping in them.

Deb, I forgot to answer on the Paleo cobbler. I used honey for the sweetener. I saw one recipe where you could use stevia but I wanted it to taste good. I am not a fan of diet sweeteners and that even goes for stevia which is not always pure stevia. The recipe I used had unflavored gelatin in it. I could not see how that was going to thicken unless I refrigerated it. I used some arrowroot powder. The crust called for coconut flour but I did half coconut flour and half hazelnut flour. Coconut flour does not generally crisp up that much and also it absorbs moisture. That could be a good thing though with cobbler as far as absorbing moisture. Coconut oil was used in it. Being Paleo it could use grassfed butter if a person wanted to.

Valerie, I haven't been to sure if I would want Ice Metabolic. Reviews say it is good but not as intense as some of Cathe's similar workouts. I have had Gertie get out of her collars. For one thing when I put on her regular collar she goes into her submissive position lying on the floor and it is hard to get on. She has such a long neck and thin head. When she gets up it is loose. I have always kept the dogs reigned in, it is just that sometimes I get a workout doing it. With my other dog I had to use both hands to give her a tug back. When we were showing our house I had this great idea of taking Gertie and Mudd to the park and walking them together. That did not work out and I had the hardest time getting them both back into the car.

Lynda, that sounds awful on dehorning the cattle. I think my daughter said they do not put them out to do it? I don't see how that would be possible unless the tie them up or something. I noticed a definite dominance in he cows. Gertie keeps her main collar on at night. She would probably love having it off though. She always seems happy when I bathe her and it is off for awhile. Sometimes I take it off to clean it and dry it out well. I don't usually here her at night. She generally goes to her crate when we go to bed or upstairs to the workout room. I often wonder what prompts her to move her place at night.

Good afternoon ladies!

This morning was a SB interval workout then I did Ruthless Fast/Slow Burn Circuit I think it is called. Wow forgot how much I loved these Ruthless workouts.

Judy...thanks for mentioning these to me. Perfect to add on to a workout when you need just a little more. The last interval I did slower which was split lunges. Did not want to over stress the knee. Of the 20 workouts in the set I have a few favorites. A few I tried and will never do again. But for the price you can't go wrong.

Deb...can't wait to hear how you liked the workout! Same here been very dry and hotbthe last few days. I need to think about how many drops of coconut oil and hosehip. I never pay attention. Thinking it is a few of drops each so about 50/50. I'll pay attention tonight. KCM has a new live kickboxing workout coming put that looks like a lot of fun. I know you have a ton of her DVD's. If you hear of a presale let me know as this is one I would love to have. Looked really fun.

Valerie...Yellowstone is so beautiful. I would neberbthink to reach oit an touch a wild animal of any kind. Yet so many people do and get into trouble.

Diane Sue...judging by your workouts I do not think you would be happy with the Ice Metabolic. Unless you were looking for something to do on an easier/light day. I bought kettlebells a couple years back and hated them. Ending up returning them. That cobbler sounds delicious.

Lynda...wow GOT was AMAZING! Bob did not care to watch it but now after hearing from everyone it was phenominal he wants to see it. We are watching it tonight and I can't wait. I held my breath a few times and cried out with saddness at one point and then another I was cheering! Loved it! Yes the Live Rockem is completely different and I prefer this one vs. the DVD.

Have a great night all.

Hi to Josie, Judy and Caitlin.

Lynda, the guy's name was Timothy Treadwell but you probably know that.... we saw several short films ...don't remember if it was on Nature? some kind of outdoors documentary type program. long before the Grizzly Man movie..... he went on and on about the bears, and lots of footage much of it filmed himself. gave the bears all cute names and approached them very closely and let them get close to him and poo pooed the risks. much anthropomorphizing... (I think that's the word I want). He really was pushing the envelope.... one day there was a news report about somebody being killed in AK in a bear attack, and I said to my DH, "wouldn't that be funny if it was Treadwell?" and it WAS! we saw Grizzly Man too. I felt bad for him in the end but he pushed it way too far and paid a very high price. I love to watch wildlife. I have a whole lot of respect for grizzly bears. I want them to live in the wild and behave like bears. I would never ever act like they're over size golden retrievers. watching some of Treadwell's stuff was crazy-scary.... you could not believe he was doing what he did. He was lucky for a long time.

we rode 26 miles today. 2 hrs 15 min.
Diane sue, I though Ice Metabolic was a good workout. I think it would be a bit light if you backed down on weight. if you use what Cathe uses, I don't think it was that easy. I haven't done many cardio /weight workouts though, so maybe it would be too low key for you. I will repeat it a few more times before the final judgment. I got all kinds of minor sore spots from swinging those weights around. I liked the icy core... it ties in with the section on core conditioning on this weeks newsletter.
I don't like artificial sweetener at all. I tried stevia. could not taste a thing. nothing. I tossed it. I limit my sweets to small amounts, but use sugar, honey or agave. no HFCS either. it gets sweeter over time IMO so things like ketchup don't taste right.

Lorie, I had to go check out the KCM workouts. When you said live, at first I thought you meant she was doing something like Cathe. It does look like fun. I think Kelly has such a nice personality. Isn't the Ice Metabolic workout something like Flex Train ? I always thought Flex Train was easy even when I went heavier. I never get much of a calorie burn out of it either. I love my kettle bells. I use them in place of dumbbells sometimes for things like squats, deadlifts, and lunges. I also will pick up one sometimes for overhead triceps extensions. There are lots of uses for them other than swings. I had a hard time with the windmills though. I have doubles in 15, 20, 25, and 31# kettle bells. I bought a 10 last for some light stuff. That is what I used for the windmill today. I love Kelly's core/ abs workout on slim sculpting using the kettle bell, I was watching some videos on cardio and physical therapy for knees and they used kettle bells. Although I wondered at the guy putting his foot through the handle of a kettle bell and doing knee lifts and leg lifts forward and to the side. It seems that could cause foot issues.

Valerie, is Ice Metabolic cardio too? I like cardio and weight circuit workouts because I can get it all done when I am crunched for time. All of that HFCS is what has changed the flavor of many foods. Most things that they used to use sugar in have changed for the worse in flavor. I hate ketchup. I never eat it. My husband eats lots of it. I make my own barbecue sauce with a bit of honey or pure maple syrup and some liquid smoke added for myself because I do not like the sugary ones that we buy in the store. I limit sweets too. I tried some ice cream on the cobbler and it was so sweet. The next time I ate some I put a bit of organic cream on it and it was much better.

Judy, does Kelly say how long the presale will be? I like that she films them before she starts the presale.

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Crush it Low Impact. This is the one that has the exercises from the ICE Low Impact Sweat workouts. A about 34 minutes. We had a strange storm last night....all kinds of lightning and thunder, but in a distance, and not much rain at all.

Diane Sue, sorry the harness did not work out. Your husband's idea of making her come back and sit each time she pulls is actually one of the ways that is taught to make them stop pulling. It takes a lot of patience, and you have to be consistent, but it does work. I did see the question from someone on Amazon about leaving the harness on all the time....huh? I really like the KCM kettlebell workout too. Lauren Brooks, not so much. I sold hers on Ebay. I can understand why you would not do one of those with the grandchildren around. Thanks for the info on the Paleo cobbler....also not a fan of stevia, or any of those sweeteners. I can taste them in the food. I mostly use pure maple syrup too. I found that the Live Phat workouts are the best for weight workouts with a lot of calorie burn.

Valerie, I can see how a chain collar could slip off of a Doberman. I never could understand these people that think they can "live" with wild animals, and not have something eventually happen.

Lynda, that RS does sound a lot more difficult than the DVD version. Our other dogs used to do a lot of shaking etc at night and I would wake up and here the collars jingling. These 2 hardly move at all until it is time to get up.

Judy, thanks for the info on KCM. Not a fan of her kickboxing workouts, ( or most any kickboxing...) LOL. but really like her weight ones a lot.

Lori, Wow 20 workouts in a set? Sounds like STS. I didn't get to do that Live workout yet, since I did weights Sunday, I wanted just cardio yesterday. Will try the new one either today or tomorrow. The nice thing about KCM, is she has a great presale, and you get the DVD's about 6 weeks later. Not 6 months.

I will probably be helping my cousin move my uncle's stuff out of the nursing home. this morning. She met with the palliative care people yesterday. He is most likely going into Hospice, which means either at a different nursing home with a Hospice unit, or he will stay at the hospital where he is now, and be moved to a Hospice room there. So sad, but he is in so much pain, and really out of it most of the time.

Take care,

Deb, I have not received the harness yet. I was just talking about my other dog. That is so sad about your cousins father. Lauren Brooks is not my favorite. I have two of her workouts. I think I like the volume 3 better. I got it for the TRX work in it. I am more prone to using parts of them. I wish I had looked at my notes yesterday because that lower body segment has snatches and and plank rows. I wanted my upper body work for today.

Hi Everyone,

Deb-I'm so sorry about your uncle :( That is very sad. It's good of you to help your cousin, I'm sure she appreciates it.

Diane Sue-She didn't say how long the presale lasts but on her site it says that the ship date is estimated early August, so it probably won't last too long. I ordered mine yesterday. I agree, Kelly has a great personality and I really enjoy most of her workouts.

Lori-we bought some kettle bells a few years ago and I've only used them a couple of times, in KCM's Slim Sculpting and Strength & Stamina. I don't really care for kettle bells enough to look for more workouts for them. I noticed on KCM's facebook page that they are starting a barre program at her gym.

Lynda-it's been very hot & dry here too. We were supposed to get rain yesterday but didn't. Looks like we may see some tomorrow and Thursday.

Josie-Awesome job on the ride! I don't blame you for taking a couple of weeks off of biking. It sounds like you are recovering well!

Valerie-great ride as always!

Hi to Caitlin!

Judy

I used to love ketchup. then the sugar got replaced with HFCS and it seemed sweeter, and the longer it sat in the frig the sweeter it got. so I switched to Heinz chili sauce or started looking for Heinz without the HFCS. in the loooong process I lost my taste for it and don't use much any more. same thing happened with barbecue sauce. too sweet! and the ones that aren't as sweet tend to be hot and then DH won't eat it so I don't use much barbecue sauce anymore. I don't like sweet things as much as I used to.

diane sue I think metabolic ice will be too easy ...the more I think about it. I do longer, less intense endurance based workouts. my rides usually 2-3 hours and hikes around 6 hours. most of my weight work is plain weights, not cardio too. when I do a combination workout, it's pretty hard. I'm used to much longer and less intense. Trying to change that up a little.

whoopee... new computer screen today. we were going to do a short backpack today but the weather forecast changed and not likely to do it this week now.
Deb sorry about your uncle. In my experience , hospice people will make sure he has adequate pain relief, even if he's out of it much of the time. we had very good experience with hospice people for my in laws. one ( FIL) stayed at home, MIL was in a special free standing hospice place. they were both sedated pretty heavily as needed but pain was controlled. my aunt also was well managed. no one worries about being overly conservative with medication.

Hi everyone--

This morning I did live Strong Upper Body Express (40 min.).

Deb, so sorry about your uncle. I take it there is nothing they can do at this point about the brain bleed? We did not get much rain last night but apparently there were some fierce storms all around us with trees down and power outages.

Diane Sue, I agree with others that the ICE Metabolic would probably be too easy for you unless you upped the weights a lot. It really is an intermediate workout, which is why I like it. I did some kettle bell workouts for awhile. Just with a 15 lb. bell--one by Lauren Brook and another with some bald guy on a rooftop in Baltimore. Just okay for me.

Valerie, yes, Timothy Treadwell (although he made up his name). Very foolish and disturbing that he brought his girlfriend on that final trip and stayed long after the younger bears had left, so that an old bear, still in need of nourishment for the long winter took his opportunity and attacked. I love when Herzog looks into the camera at one moment with a grizzly film behind him and says something to the effect that the only thing he sees when he looks into a grizzly's eyes is a desire to eat and then the camera zeros in on the grizzly's eyes. Yep--nothing there. Herzog came to our campus a couple times to talk about his films (the first time he came he was a year early, so he volunteered to come again the following year and bring a new film). I don't like all of them, but some of them are really brilliant.

Judy, thanks for the news on KCM. I think I will pass this time, but I have always liked her workouts.
