well, nothing ever is simple, is it? DH reminded me about how beta blockers work..the latest med my mother was put on. I told him to ask our mother's doctor( brother's doctor too) if it could be the problem and he took her off of it. she's improved again. Not dancing in the street, but not falling and able to get to the bathroom in time. In older people especially, the first thing to look at if falls are an issue, is what meds they are on. In her case she was put on this recently but it dropped her BP and pulse too low and especially when getting up from bed after being asleep, she was falling down.
Finally did the ride yesterday, 25 miles. a little shorter than usual but we had some annoyances and turned around before the end. yoga this morning. I am getting so much more work out of it now that I'm doing some things more correctly.
we are getting our house exterior painted next week so will be gone for at least a few days. possibly a week.
Lynda, in my experience .... I've given shots to horses, dogs, even did a blood draw on my dog .... they don't feel needles at all, or don't find it uncomfortable. I held my cat when they stapled ( yes, with a big stapler) together a wound after he pulled the stitches out. first I don't think they feel it like people do. none of them reacted as if it was painful. maybe it's a survival mechanism?
I had no clue squirrels ate strawberries either. I was very surprised to see him make a beeline for the plants, shake the branch as he grabbed a berry! no wonder I never got any ripe fruit.. we've had birds picking blueberries but strawberries are kind of big. Not sure if it's worth the effort as I don't see how I could net them tightly enough.
