Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 5/26

No workout for me today. I had an appointment this morning and I was away most of the day.

Deb, the Fitbit app has a short description of how calories are calculated that you get to when you select more information under calories burned icon. They use age, sex, height, and weight to calculate calories.

This morning I did Raw Step Drills and Compound moves, 36 minutes, heart rate average 135, max 168, met 7.5, 232 calories, 2481. I used 12# dumbbells like Cathe. I followed this with Lite Body Weight and Bands calorie crush with the warm up, 13 minutes, 81 calories, met 7.70, heart rate 134 average, 159 max,1,124 steps, and finished with Body Weight and Bands standing only premix skipping the warm up, 26 minutes, met 6.5, 134 calories, 990 steps, heart rate average 11, max 142. Raining again today. I think it will rain all week! That is why I wanted to get the lawn mowed yesterday.

Deb, you can always sub or skip moves that you think will bother from the Lite workouts. I was a bit worried Thursday about the discs and the dead lifts. My low back has been tender some mornings. I proceeded with caution and limited how deep I went. I used to go all the way down with heavy weights for the dead lifts. (probably what my problem is now) Limiting the movement some on gliding discs is a good idea. I didn't push as heavy of weight this time with the Lite workouts.

Valerie, seeing the elk give birth would be fascinating. Watching them nurse and nurture would be fun too. I hope you can figure out something with the water rower. It seems it would be good for stretching and mobility along with some strength. Not so much what we tend to expect from our workouts I guess.
