Cathlete
good morning everyone. we are off to do a ride this morning although weather is not what was predicted. was supposed to be sunny but cloudy and misting a little.

This morning I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga Morning Energy practice for 18 minutes. That’s it since this is my rest day.

Diane Sue, I’m sure that you enjoyed the Ladies spring luncheon. Nice job with JS Build Balance and Inner Strength workout and her Hips and Knees yoga practice. I like that yoga practice. That’s wonderful that your husband ordered the bands, mat and other items from your wish list. What a nice surprise!

Valerie, great job with Stacked Sets Upper Body. I hope that today’s ride works out for you.

Hello to Judy and Cathy.

Back from our ride. 2 hrs 20 minutes. not everything went according to plan. clouds burned off and fairly sunny for most of the ride with a headwind. some sort of parade/demonstration in one of the cities we pass through, occupying the only bridge across the river. we had to stall for a while until the group cleared the area. it was loud but could not tell what the issue was.

I haven't been doing weights often enough and got a little sore and achy from the workout yesterday. nothing severe, but did not help my ride speed today. I had backed off on weight levels too, so I'm surprised and unhappy with myself for slacking too much.

Hi all! Been a busy few days. The weather for the trip was beautiful! Not warm, but sunny and gorgeous and most importantly the roads were clear and dry! They had had snow just two days before, but it was gone for the most part when I got there. Still some in shaded areas and the path to the waterfall in Munising had a fair amount of snow/packed down ice on it. Wednesday when I got up there, I went and walked for about 35 minutes along the bay near the marina, so mostly in along the business area of the city. Thursday morning I did Boxing Hiit Express and then I went and walked along the bay for about 70 minutes. This time, I actually went along the bay. Parks along the side of the lake, some houses across the street. Then in the afternoon Derek and I went hiking at one of the State recreation areas along a lake. About 5 miles out of town. Got pasta for Derek, his girlfriend and myself and ate in my room, then we loaded up what I thought was most of Derek's stuff. Friday morning I did the first segment from CrossFire. Went to get Derek and what I thought was just the stuff he'd needed overnight, but he had a lot more than that. Shoved things in and around what was already in the car and managed to get it in, without blocking my view out the back window. Then yesterday morning I just did some stretching and we went to the zoo in Lansing. This morning I did Warrior Kickboxing 2, which I really liked. Derek had his orientation today for working in the gift shop and then worked a few hours. He's working 5 of the next 6 days and then a week from Monday has his internship orientation and will be working in the gift shop on Saturdays.

Valerie glad that your trip went okay. Out of shape relatives, and those who aren't inclined to help themselves be healthier aren't the easiest to deal with and like you, I generally don't even try. Though it drives me crazy. My brother and sister are both younger than I am and I'm the only one who isn't on any medication let alone multiple medications and mostly for things that are caused by lifestyle. Same with my parents.

Diane Sue glad your knee issue seems to have been short lived! Seems like more often than not those mammogram call backs turn out to be nothing and hopefully yours will be just that.

Judy that's a lot of steps for work! But, a bonus.

Carolyn great job with the yoga!

Today I did some work to get in a bit of shoulder work and stretches. I did Raw Get Up and Move two times which was 9 minutes to loosen up and get my heart rate up, then I did some strength work for rotators and upper back for 20 minutes starting with rolling out the traps first. I finished with a stretch off of raw and some other stretches for neck and shoulders as that one was lower body and this was 17 minutes.
My shoulder has been sore and I think it is because when I did the reverse grip pullover move I picked up the wrong bar and used 9# instead of 5# bar. I have PT tomorrow.

Carolyn, nice to have those rest days and get a bit of stretching/yoga in. I keep forgetting those Jessica Smith and other yoga videos that I purchased on Amazon. I bought them when I was doing all of the PT work a couple of years ago. They are good workouts.

Valerie, nice that you got in a ride today. It usually doesn't take too long to build back up strength. It is sometimes hard to work in everything and we do have our favorite things we would like to do most of all.

Cathy, it is nice that you got in some hiking and walks in. Glad you were able to get everything in the car and still be able to see to drive.

This morning I did Athletic Training, it's been a VERY long time since I did that one, and the the Stretch Max with just a mat. Really going to try and get more stretching in.

Diane Sue great job getting in the shoulder work. All of your efforts are paying off!

no formal workout today. we are replacing a toilet and so far it's more work than a workout! we have a water leak somewhere and thought it was this toilet. well, its not. that would be too simple. replaced the shut off valve too, and that was tough. its a 30+ yr old toilet so we are replacing anyway. cant find parts for it anymore, like flappers that work.
I don't think I have lost much strength but I get sore easily if I haven't done specific moves in the last week or so. still, its a reminder to make sure I do upper body weekly or a little more often. I've been doing push ups, tricep push ups and dips but not the specific moves from stacked upper.

tee hee us short people need to beware of blocked mirrors for sure!

This morning I did Cardio Party. That was 39 minutes and 268 calories burned. Average heart rate was 127 and maximum heart rate was 158. My husband had a cardiology appointment this afternoon and we just got home. It was a routine follow up, so no problems.

Cathy, you’ve had a few very busy days. Great job getting in your workouts with all that you had going on.

Diane Sue, you are doing a great job with your shoulder work. Jessica Smith has some good workouts when you want a change of pace.

Valerie, it must be frustrating to be unable to locate the leak. As least the old toilet is replaced!

Hello hello Judy.

Hi Everyone,

Saturday I did a Peloton ride and some upper body work. We ran errands and got caught up on things at home. Yesterday was a rest day with yoga and stretching. Today I worked 8 hours but I plan on getting a short workout in later tonight. I'm supposed to be off the next two days but I have a feeling I might end up going in tomorrow or Wednesday. I have a chiropractor appointment tomorrow.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga Morning Energy practice and Cardio Party. Chris and I need to make cardiology appointments this spring or summer. I want to get another stress test (my last one was in 2016).

Valerie-We replaced both our toilets a few years ago and it's definitely a workout!

Diane Sue-That's so great that your husband ordered the things you wanted! Nice job with the shoulder work yesterday!

Cathy-Great job with Warrior Kickboxing and Athletic Training! It's great that you got so many workouts in while you were so busy with other things going on.

No workout today. I got very little sleep last night and power went out a 5 am. I had PT and just was not feeling doing anything else. We had some intense storms and hail again. I changed my Wed mammogram redo to the 12th as there is forecast of severe thunderstorms and tornados. No way I want to drive the distance again when weather is bad. Why can't Amazon delivery people get packages to the correct house. We have our address on the front of our house and our mailbox and they send a picture of my stuff on someone else doorstep :(
I think something is going on with Kelly Coffey's website. I got an e-mail 3 days ago saying to update my subscription. I went to her site multiple times and checked and I have up to date info and I checked my bank and they had not taken out their monthly premium. So I messaged Kelly on her website. Still have heard nothing. I went to her website today and it pops up and then I get a popup warning about using her site as their is phishing going on. Now I am worried something is compromised.

Cathy, nice work on Athletic training. It has been years since I have done that one.

Valerie, I am getting where I cringe at those self-repairs. My husband and our son worked on ours a couple of weeks ago. Not an old toilet, but when we moved here I noticed that there was a wedge tucked under the back of the bottom of the toilet . It started wobbling after awhile and then the bolt broke off so it had to be removed and we had to buy new bolts. We have had to do repairs in every house we have lived in on toilets and the innards etc..

Carolyn, I Cardio Party is a favorite workout of mine. Nice workout. That is good news that the follow up appointment was good.

JUdy, great job with the Peloton and upper body work.

Toilets.. they do so much for us but boy, are they a pain. new one is in and working but we are still looking for the leak. its not as if water is ending up in the wrong place, that would be easy to find. water where it should not be is noticeable! we still suspect a toilet and have 2 more old ones that might be guilty. we are doing the dye test on the tank/bowl again. both tested Ok before but one is looking guilty. the leak is not continuous, just sometimes. it leaks enough to activate our system pressurizer and that makes a whining sound. we expect to hear the pressurizer go on when using water, but not if we aren't. we are not on city water, our homeowner association has its won water system including water purification, pump, etc. the toilet needed replacing but too bad it wasn't the true problem. installing new toilets is easier than even a few years ago. either that, or we have finally gotten good at it! toilets are always tucked into corners where they are awkward to get at, and only one person will fit, and the second person has to lie on the countertop or hang from the ceiling to reach the working parts.

diane sue you and I are definitely different. I'd drive thru a hurricane (maybe not a tornado but that would be negotiable) to get repeat viewing done so I could sleep again.

then I had to take a car in to get snow tires changed to all weather tires. a lug nut seized up and broke off a piece of the stud underneath so need to get that fixed Friday at a tire place. never had that happen before. a very busy active day with a ton of walking, stairs, and loading/unloading. toilets are heavy. many steps up and down stairs.

judy we are into heavy gardening season here now so all the nurseries and stores that sell plants are crammed. Like Lowes and HD. we need some replacements for plants that froze out this year. we had quite a few casualties and have waited this long to be sure they died. Many did. lost some big Hebe bushes, a large Bay leaf tree, and quite a few others have frozen out sections but seem to be working their way back slowly. not sure what happened. we had some cold ( for here) weather but nothing that would account for some of the casualties.

Carolyn ...Cardio Party... that always sounds like such fun but I gave up. it never got any easier. after repeating and doing the step review, it was just as impossible for me. like trying to teach a pig to sing.

This morning I did Cardio Hiit Plus Core. Good workout, but too many moves of which I'm not a fan. Then I did the chair stretch from Step Boss. Another rainy day here. Derek got all the way to the zoo, and got a message from his boss not to come in. She even started it, you probably just got here, but... She wouldn't have called him off but the higher ups told them to tell people not to come in. The downside of working somewhere weather matters. When he's going for his internship he'll never get called off, but of course that's the one that doesn't pay. Actually the college is making out well, because for minimal work on their part, his four credits are costing us $2K.

Valerie sorry you still haven't found your leak, at least the toilet is replaced. And yes, toilets are definitely not the easiest things to to maneuver around. One wonders how plumbers manage when they are definitely not all skinny, little things.

Carolyn great job with Cardio Party!

Judy great job with the Peloton ride and upper body work!

Diane Sue, sorry to hear you had trouble sleeping.

This morning I did X Train Chest, Back, and Shoulders for 59 minutes and 258 calories burned. My average heart rate was 119 and maximum heart rate was 147. I omitted round 8 with supermans on the ball. My back didn’t want to do that move today.

Judy, great job with the Peloton ride, upper body work, and stretching. It’s good that you were able to get caught up at home while off from work.

Diane Sue, I’m sorry that you didn’t sleep well. I would have rescheduled my appointment to avoid driving in an intense storm with hail. My daughter is having a similar problem with Amazon delivering to the wrong address. She is in a condo and they always go to the wrong building even though she includes detailed notes about her location. It’s happened a few times with groceries and they send out replacement items. It’s very frustrating.

Valerie, Cardio Party is a fun workout, but of course it’s not fun if you feel frustrated with the moves!

Cathy, nice work with Cardio HiiT plus Core. Cardio Core Circuit is one that has too many moves that I don’t like. Your son must have been unhappy to drive in to work to only be sent home.

Have a nice day everyone.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Box and Barre, 35 minutes, heart rate 136/168, 205 calories. I forgot to check steps today, but I know not a lot. I then did Cather Ice to the Mat, 49 minutes, 100 calories, heart rate 82/100. For Box and Barre, I mostly did the boxing without weight as she uses 2# egg weights. I picked up 1# for a couple of moves that I knew would be safe. All was done with ankle weights 2.5#. I liked this as it was all low impact. On, To the Mat, I had to adjust for the plank moves and do something similar without resting on my arms too much. I used a stability ball to lean on for the side plank leg lift hip drop rather than on one arm on the floor. My doctor's office called about the bone scan and said that the bones were thinner than the last time in my hip. I suppose I should ask which one, but I figure it is the one that hurts quite often. Anyway they said to do weights and bands and I need to do cardio like treadmill or elliptical. I told them I have the spin bike. She said that regular cardio, which I am guessing she means light stuff like walk workouts are not going to strengthen the bone. Also she said to take vitamin lots of D and calcium at 1200 mg. Well, I have been being careful of the calcium to protect artery plaque, but have recently added it back for helping after surgery. I just spread it out so I do not get a huge amount all at once and what is not used getting diverted to arteries. It was kind of disheartening as I do work out and try to take care of everything.

Valerie, they always leave a cramped space for working on toilets. We have a huge master bath, but the "toilet closet" has very little room in it. Having a tall man try to get on the floor and work around the toilet is hard. I usually help and get down in the cramped spot. This time son and grandson did the work. I don't think my shoulder would have liked me crawling down in a corner and trying to hang on to a toilet to guide to bolts etc.. Well, after being in a couple of bad storms and flooded roads I have a fear of them. There was a time when I would have went and took the chance. It will be a busy week though for me as I also have PT, the appointment for the mammogram, and the ladies game day I am hosting. Also the weekend is full with granddaughter's rehearsal dinner and wedding. I took that week anyway as they had said weeks out and then she found a cancellation. Praying no storms that day.

Cathy, I have a tendency to move to some other workout if I don't care for the moves. That is too bad that your son got all of the way to work at the zoo and got told not to come in. I slept better last night. Still tired though. It will probably take a couple of nights to catch up. Although they say severe storms tomorrow and last I looked they will be here at night as well and into Thursday. I may be awake again.

Carolyn, nice work with XTrain chest, shoulders, and triceps. I have a hard time with superman moves. I used to do them well, but for whatever reason, it bother's my neck and my back hurts afterward. Today the To the Mat had swimmers and lifting legs and arms. I could not do the arms and barely get my feet off the floor. I think they are suppose to strengthen the low back though. Whole Foods through Amazon has always got my groceries to the right address. Amazon, though has done this multiple times. The other times it was the neighbors on either side of me that got my packages. The first time I recognized the doorstep and went and asked for my package. It was difficult as the older couple do not speak English so asking was uncomfortable, but they did have the package. Their son has a business and him and his wife speak English. She has bought over mail the mailman left here. We have always taken the packages to whatever address. I am still hoping someone brings my package. I really wanted the Kenra hair conditioner as what I have is making my head itch. I usually get the one without parabens and sulfates. I don't know why I changed. I guess if I do not get the package from someone soon, tomorrow I will tell Amazon I want a refund. Apartments would be much worse.

This morning I did Cardio Quick Fix workout one which was 26 minutes and 183 calories burned. My average heart rate was 131 and maximum heart rate was 146.

Diane Sue, great job with Raw Box and Barre and To the Mat. I don’t usually mind the superman move since it strengthens the lower back, but yesterday was not the day for it. My doctor reviews the bone scan results with me and explains what the numbers mean. She compares most recent readings to previous years to show what changed or remained the same. I was also avoiding calcium supplements, but I started taking them last fall.

Hello to Cathy, Judy, and Valerie.

We planned to ride today but it was raining lightly so did a hike instead. 2 hours of serious walking up and downhill. waterbirds, and porpoises but far away. lots of spring flowers. wet but not bad, better than riding where any rainfall gets amplified by the speed.
I took calcium supplements for a long time but quit them a few years ago. my dairy intake is very robust and my overall diet is good. I could start taking calcium supplements again. so far bones are keeping well with arthritis an issue but not bone loss. I should get a repeat dexascan though.

we have more issues with postal mail going to the wrong box than we do with amazon. I think we order enough stuff that the drivers know our house.

Yesterday I did Cathe Live Barbell PHA and a 30 minute Peloton ride.

Carolyn-Great job with XTrain CBS and Cardio Quick Fix.

Diane Sue- Great job with Coffey Fit Raw Box and Barre and To The Mat. I've been wanting to do that Raw workout and a few others.

Valerie-Great job with the 2 hour walk. Home Depot will be crazy from now until around July 4th, then garden season really slows down.

Cathy-Great job with Cardio Hiit Plus Core and the chair stretch.

My turn to do To the Mat this morning! Beautiful sunny day here for a change. Walked the paths and there is as much or more water back there than we've had all spring. Seriously beginning to think it'll be months before it's gone. Shopping tomorrow. The biggest downside of Derek driving to work and not working yesterday is the miles on the my car and gas used.

Valerie that's great that you were able to get in a really nice hike this morning, even with the rain.

My sister sent me a message earlier that FedEx delivered their package to the wrong place, and they got those people's package. The other people were able to call her husband and they are meeting tomorrow to exchange. They are 25 MILES apart! The only thing the addresses had in common was the number that the house number was 85. The few things we've had go astray at least end up nearby, and generally regular mail.

Carolyn great job with the Cardio Quick Fix and Xtrain workouts.

Judy nice job with the Barbell PHA and Peloton ride.

Diane Sue nice job with the Fit Raw Box and Barre and To the Mat.

Today I did Burpee Girl Low Impact Cardio to the Beat, 35 minutes,228 calories, heart rate 147/160, 3,134 steps. I then did my PT exercises + some biceps with 8# dumbbells, 37 minutes, 110 calories, 13 sets, heart rate 100/129, 160 steps. I finished with some stretches and foam rolling, 16 minutes, 19 calories, heart rate 72/99. Total time was 88 minutes, 357 calories, 3,294 steps. It's raining and rumbling. I got work up hearing the storm, then later I woke thinking the sprinklers were running and was climbing out of bed when I realized my husband had come in and it was the washing machine. He had started a load of clothes.
I think the problem is we do not absorb all the vitamins in our food and particularly in supplements so there still can be shortage.

Carolyn, nice work with Cardio Quick Fix workout 1. I used to do well with the superman move, swimmers have never been one I liked. I think extending the arms for a prolonged amount of time is my problem. Putting them under my chin works for now. When I went and got my mammogram first my doctor went over the results with me. Things have just been done out of order and when I can get in. The one that spent the most time with me and showing me details of my shoulder after x rays and the mri was the surgeons PA. He pointed out things and explained everything and what was done etc.. I guess the arthritis doctor did that too when showing me the narrowing in my neck and talking about options. I am not real happy with him. When I went in this time he asked who did my surgery and if he did a good job. I thought it was odd as their office was the one that picked my surgeon. If I did it myself I would have shopped around and picked one closer to home. There are not many arthritis doctors around here as I looked. Everyone seems to love the one that runs that center, and I think that is who my doctor originally intended me to go to. He is really busy and hard to get in to. He goes over all of the mris and stuff himself. I just thought that was weird and the fact I kept waiting and had to call and ask about the appointment his nurse was supposed to schedule for the surgeon.

Valerie, I always figured I probably get some calcium in my food and often find some supplements ad some more. I usually have some dairy kefir at night with berries. I was doing Cashew yogurt which I really like, but it does not have as much calcium and actually has more fat and missing things like potassium. When I was researching on bones and tendons mending after surgeries, I added Life Extension Bone Restore to my other stuff. It has K2 and some D in it with other stuff. I just wanted to help the healing along, but still spaced the 4 Tablets a day out and that is 700 mg of calcium, so my food and stuff should make up the difference. I have been getting a dexascan every few years for awhile now. For awhile I was taking Boniva, but I quit. It seemed every time I took it, it took two weeks before my bones didn't hurt. Also read the warnings and it said it was for back and could cause problems elsewhere. My doctor did not seem to care. I think I will keep up the calcium for now. We have Amazon to our house at least two times a week. Since we moved here a year ago we have had packages delivered elsewhere 3 times. I contacted Amazon and they always want to know if you looked around and checked with neighbors. I knew this and waited two days for that person to bring my package. Amazon is sending a replacement. We always take packages to the address they were intended. If I ever find the house with the black ceramic tile looking doorstep and light brick halfway up the porch with the rest siding, I will know who kept my package. So far packages have been all in our neighborhood when left at the wrong place.
Well, we have problems with postal mail as well. If I have gotten other mail, but did not have a clue whose it was and it was our address, but not the last owners name. It was DHS on the return. I just marked it not at this address and put it back out in the mail. We had the next door neighbor bring over a piece of our mail recently. I had a lot of issues with the post office and mail at our other house.

Judy, nice work with Live PHA and the Peloton workout.

Cathy, nice work doing To The Mat. Yes, with gas prices, and then the mileage would be a bit annoying when your son didn't get to work. 25 miles away for a package is a lot. Ours is usually in the area as well, although I have had a few that I just never got and had to report them as I never received the package.

This morning I did X Train Bis and Tris, rounds 1-5, for 28 minutes and 140 calories burned. My average heart rate was 121 and maximum heart rate was 161. Then I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga Core Strength and Flexibility for 27 minutes and 62 calories burned.

Valerie, your 2 hour hike sounds nice with the birds, porpoises and spring flowers.

Judy, great job with Live Barbell PHA and a 30 minute Peloton ride.

Cathy, nice job with To The Mat. Fed Ex leaving your sister’s package at the wrong house 25 miles away is ridiculous! I don’t understand how they could make that kind of mistake.

Diane Sue, great job with Burpee Girl Low Impact Cardio To the Beat, PT exercises, stretches and foam rolling. I always felt like I was eating a diet rich in calcium, but my gynecologist really wanted me to add the supplements so I did. I take calcium with vitamin D. I was already taking a D supplement, but I discontinued that so that I don’t get too much.

Have a wonderful day everyone.
