Good morning,

Today I did LIVE Metabolic Conditioning, 42 minutes, 279 calories.

Valerie, Yay for the phone success!! I will have to check out "Big Little Lies" hopefully its on Prime...or maybe Hulu? I get a 30 day free trial of Hulu so I could catch up with the current season of Chicago PD. I really like this series a lot. LOL on your coffee and alcohol as quality of life issues. Coffee definitely for me! Most of our stores are marked for distancing too. They are now going to make the aisles "one-way". Yes, the month of March was about a year long. We are on major lockdown. I wish there would be an order that all people had to wear masks when out of their homes. The only think would be making sure it did not affect the medical people supplies. I know a lot of people are doing it. I say the report on the Czech Republic and their low number of cases. They attribute it to making everyone wear masks if outdoors for any reason. Correct, it was the lack of Taurine in the dog food, as the substituted animal protein with beans, lentils etc. Not sure of all the specifics...or what the grain connection was.

Carolyn, Good job on Lite PHA 2. I really think the virtual meetings is such a great idea, for WW and other things like churches etc. Our family is doing a lot of "Face Time", "House Party" and Zoom.....all great things so we can keep in touch. I am having a problem getting House Party to work on my iPad...I think it's because it is an older model. :( My niece walked over from the next town over, and we chatted outside, her in the street and me on the porch.

Diane Sue, glad Gertie is feeling better. nice job on KCM's cardio blast workouts. I hope your knee is okay.

Judy, that Live sounds good...I will put it on my "Live To Try" list. :) I am saving Cathe's Step Tutorials on my iPad....so far I am good with what she has done, waiting for some of her complicated stuff that I can never seem to get. I agree with you on the grains in dog food. Yes, it is probably the cellulose in that one that makes the dogs feel full. Ugh.

Hi to Lori,

Take care.

Deb I feel like I hit the jackpot. I thought it would be such a total thrash to get it hooked up. she is in an old house with outdated wiring, plumbing, etc and I expected problems. I think she was surprised it was so easy too. she lets herself get intimidated by little things. eventually she might pick up some other features but she is so dependent on her phone this was a huge relief to get a newer system functioning. her old phone was not holding a charge well anymore.
I read about the one -way aisles. no one is doing that here yet. a good idea. usually the closest contact is passing someone going opposite way. I wish stores would get rid of the "middle of the aisle" displays too.

We got Big Little Lies on Netflix disk. I use my Netflix queue to keep track of things I'd like to watch. some titles seem so slow( or never) come to streaming. we keep the mailer disk program going. I don't remember seeing BLL streaming anywhere or we would have done it that way. we might have missed finding it searching thru what's available. watching another called Little Fires Everywhere. so far its good too. sometimes it feels like we see reese witherspoon in something every day. also watching a seriously scary short series called Chernobyl. only two disks. we are waiting for the second one. holy crap, I didn't realize how close the world came to a horrendously huge disaster. I knew it was an awful event, but didn't know exactly how big and how awful. I think its a BBC production. familiar faces in it, everyone sounds British but better than faking a Russian accent. I know it was nominated for some awards but not sure if it received any. sometimes the best work gets barely a mention and no publicity.
How is Kylee doing?
when I read about dilated cardiomyopathy in dogs.... such a serious thing related to food. who would have thought? then you think about the vast range of foods some people can /cant tolerate, and the problems they can cause... so maybe its not such a stretch.
we have some masks but I haven't worn one. I took one shopping yesterday but didnt put it on. I have trouble with gloves. my god, how do surgeons do anything with these things on. I could not get my cc in/out of my pocket with a glove on, not exactly an precise or demanding movement compared to delicate surgery.

This morning I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, Morning Energy Practice. This is my rest day and that practice is a good one for that.

Deb, great job with Live Metabolic Conditioning. My husband loves Chicago PD. In fact, that and FBI are his favorite shows. I have never watched either. Big Little Lies is an HBO show. It might be available on one of your streaming services.

Valerie, I’m really impressed that you were able to talk your sister through the phone set up. Great job!

Hello to Judy, Diane Sue, and Lori.

I just did Kelly's Raw Stretch and Tone this morning. I like this as it is some lower body toning with or without ankle weights with stretching and foam rolling. She says you can do it before bed or when you just need something light. The toning is mainly lower body and abs with some lying on the side 1 arm push ups to break up from one side to the other. This was 36 minutes. I need to quickly pick up and vacuum downstairs so I can try to get up early to run to the vet and get Frontline Gold as I read that peoples dogs were getting flees with the ones purchased on Amazon from sellers and someone warned that you should just get it from a vet because there had been lots of reports of that. I need a couple of things that I am probably going to have to o to Walmart Market for. I have not been there since all of this and am really not wanting to go there. Maybe Dollar General would have the spray deodorant for my husband. I just don't want to be running in and out of a bunch of places. Vet I will be just sitting in my car. I still have not seen hand sanitizer in a store or on Amazon. I mixed what aloe vera I have with some alcohol since I am almost out.

Valerie, thanks on the taurine. That could be remedied if that is all it is. I was just trying to go with the vets guidelines. She seems fine now. I am wondering if it has something to do with all of those seedlings covering the ground outside or she has ingested some of the weed and feed that I had put out. Although both times we had a hard rain afterward and she was not hanging out on the lawn.

Carolyn, my daughter posted pictures and said her and the other side of their family used zoom today for their monthly family get together and talked. Wondering if we should try that. Even her younger granddaughter's boyfriend got in on it and she got in on it during her lunch break. She works weekends at a medical facility taking care of and watching children that are virtually just kept alive. I don't know how she does it,. Feeding through their stomachs, turning them, bathing them etc. She is going to college to get into nursing and spends her whole weekend doing this job. A lot have had drug overdoses, tried to commit suicide, or been abused.
It is great the way technology makes if bearable to be in lockdown.
I like the morning energy practice. Not tough and seems like it gets the joints loosened up and ready for the day.

Deb, I still have not been in a grocery store that crowded. So few people and most stand back and wait for someone that is maybe looking at eggs or if someone is on an aisle, they just move to the next and come back. I did see a woman at Sprouts with a handful of the sanitizer wipes wiping her hands every time she picked up something and put it in her cart. I just thought it was interesting. I sanitize before I go into the store, don't spend my usual time checking labels and the like, grab, toss in the cart and move through quickly not touching as many things as possible, wiping hands when I get back in the car and door handles etc when I get home.

I did Rev'd up Rumble plus the ab section, and 100 knee push ups.

diane sue I don't know zip about taurine, just remember reading about it. your vet can probably fill in the details.
I try to go to minimum # of stores, and get in and out quickly.
hopefully will mt bike tomorrow, not our usual place since its still closed. we will find a logging road to ride up and down. lots of snow yet so not many choices.

Good morning,

Today I did Walk Fit Vol 2 on the treadmill, 35 minutes, 264 calories.

Valerie, such an accomplishment with the phone! I can understand why you are thrilled about it. Yes, it would be good if all stores got rid of center displays, and made aisles one way. I can get Big Little Lies on Hulu, only for the rest of this month....I signed up for a 30 day free trial, and will not be continuing. We are still waiting for the radiologist report for what they felt was an enlarged colon. I just called and left a message with them. Yes, the whole thing with Taurine, dog food, grains or no grains is very confusing, depending on where you read articles. Taurine is one of the supplements I use when I make the vitamin/mineral mix for the dog's food.

Carolyn, nice relaxing rest day workout! I need to look at FBI. I didn't know there was a show about that. :). I seem to always gravitate towards police/cop dramas.

Diane Sue, How is Gertie today? Hope she is still good. It could be that she did ingest something that did not agree with her. I have heard about some of the pet items on Amazon not being the real thing. One of the things was those flea collars that last 8 months? I forgot the name of them. I got Kylee's last bladder control med through Chewy, and my vet/prescription. I hope that is not a fake one...:). I finally did get "House Party" to work on my iPad and had a video chat with 2 of my nieces last night. It was fun...although for some reason I was up-side down to them. That is so sad about the grand daughter and her job at that facility with those children. Bless her for doing that.

Hi to Judy & Lori,

Stay safe.

This morning I did RWH Low Impact HiiT One + Abs One. That was 36 minutes and 236 calories burned. My average heart rate was 127 and maximum heart rate was 150.

Diane Sue, nice job with Kelly’s stretch yesterday. JA Morning Energy is surprisingly effective in loosening my joints and getting my tight muscles moving.

Deb, it’s great that you managed a treadmill walk today. I’m glad that you can get Big Little Lies on Hulu. It’s a good series, one of the few that I watched 2 or 3 episodes at a time.

Valerie, nice job with Rev’d Up Rumble and Abs. I try to go to a minimum of stores too. I really don’t want to leave my home.

Hello to Judy and Lori.

Deb we have Hulu but did not notice BLL. there is so much "stuff" its hard to find what you want sometimes. and sometimes limited seasons of a particular program are available. we are watching Ozark right now, and we went back to watch the second season before watching the 3rd because that was way more complicated than BLL, and its a long time since we watched season 2.
DH runs the remotes and I gladly let him do it. we have Hulu Netflix and prime plus basic cable. I like BLLs second season better than the first. its kind of a fun soap opera but they do a good job with it. The Loudest Voice was outstanding series but I never found it on any streaming service unless, as usual, we missed it because we didn't specifically look for it. a lot of times some real crap ends up being emphasized and you need to look for better content.

ETA back from our ride. 8 miles 2 hours. road was longer but we got into solid snow so that was as far as we could ride. it wasn't flat either. flat is different in a car than on a bicycle. a few other vehicles on the road. exactly 2 so this qualifies as appropriate distancing.
Carolyn, I am going batty stuck in the house. I'm used to being outside doing things. indoor workouts are OK but outside is so much better. weather is lovely this week so we will do our best to get outside away from anyone else.

I have plans to do Kelly's 5 day strength and Build and Burn combo for a bit. At least if it works out for me. I was pulled on this and Raw Front Side Back Side. I was really achy all over this morning and the last three days I woke with my low back hurting so I chose to do Raw Cardio Overload #2, 38 minutes, 193 calories, heart rate 122/173, 3202 steps. I will come back in awhile for personls. Yesterday I just did Raw Stretch and Tone.
I went to the vet and it was interesting. No contact at all. They called me back and checked to see if they had the Frontline Gold in stock, took my credit card info, and dropped the Frontline in a planter stand (no plants) bucket and when she went inside I went and picked it up. No contact and they email me the receipt. Then I went to Walmart Market which was not bad. They have an in door and out door and some markings on the floor and by checkouts. I hurried through and back out. All of that and I find out when I get home my husband needs toothpaste. I guess that can wait till the next time we need to shop if I can wait or I will order it.
I flubbed up at the store though as I went in the exit side. Then I read later on Nextdoor neighbor that just because there are a lot of cars in the parking lot, look, because many are waiting to go in as they have a limit on customers. I did not see anything saying that though. Maybe they were talking about the super center. It was not crowded inside. Aisles with no one. No register lines.

This morning I did a 40 minute Peloton ride. Things are getting really bad here. I don't plan on leaving home for anything for the next two weeks. Chris has been wanting to get some paint for a project but hopefully I have convinced him that it can wait a few weeks. We made one short grocery run yesterday morning and I hated being out. We wore masks and gloves and I did the best I could to disinfect everything when we got home. We changed clothes and I washed the ones we wore right away. It's surreal how much life has changed in a few weeks.

Deb-Nice job on the Walk Fit workout!

Carolyn-Great job with the RWH workout! I'm going to have to look at that JA Morning Energy practice. It sounds like a good one.

Diane Sue-I'm planning on starting the 5 day strength program tomorrow. I might add some Build and Burn workouts in too.

Valerie-That's great that you got your sister's phone set up! Nice job with the ride!

Hi to Lori!

Take care,

Judy

Good morning,

Today I did Lite Stacked Sets Upper Body, 38 minutes, 236 calories. I don't know why I have not done this one more, I really enjoyed it! I think I will be doing this one again next week.

Carolyn, thanks for the info on BLL's. You and Valerie enjoyed it, I will start watching it tonight.

Valerie, good that you were able to get a ride in. I forgot all about Better Call Saul! I will probably have to re-watch whatever season I last saw, since I forgot where I stopped. Not even sure I remember where I got the episodes....if from the library I am out of luck right now! Maybe they are on Hulu. I'll have to check. Do you have the Hulu subscription that has commercials? It is the cheapest one...at $5.97 a month. I am not planning on continuing though, so I really should have taken the higher priced one with no commercials.

Diane Sue, hope you are feeling better today and are not as achy? your vet is doing a good thing, with not even going out to the car to deliver meds.

Judy, nice job on the Peloton ride. Good that you are staying in.....I did read that Detroit was getting worse, not as bad as NYC but rising.

Lori, how are things going with you and Bob?

Stay safe,

This morning I did Strong and Sweaty Bootcamp which was 46 minutes and 274 calories burned. My average heart rate was 123 and maximum heart rate was 162.

Diane Sue, it was wise of you to change up your workout to Raw Cardio Overload. Listening to your body is important. Some stores here have started limiting the number of people that can enter their stores based on square footage.

Judy, Jane Adams Gentle Yoga is a nice surprise. It doesn’t feel like you are doing much compared to some of my other yoga practices, but it works very well.

Deb, LiTE Stacked Sets Upper Body is a great workout. I’m surprised that you haven’t done it before.

Valerie, I hope you are able to get outside today. I try to get out in my yard and walk around my neighborhood for fresh air and sunshine. A few minutes outside makes a big difference for me.

Hello to Lori. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today I started with Jessica Smith Walk Strong and Have Fun: Have a Ball, 32 minutes, 132 calories, heart rate 109/146, 2,858 steps. I then did Raw Strength day 1 back and biceps, 37 minutes, 96/111 heart rate, 73 calories, 411 steps. I finished off with a Fitbit stretch from the discover section on fit bit app, (I did it from my tablet) 10 minutes, 25 calories (the app quotes it as being a 50 calories workout) I don't know if these discover workouts are there without premium or not. I never explored that much. I just know I cannot log into Fitbit coach, but reading the community I gather coach used to be an extra 7.95 and they have converted it to part of Premium. Most people are having problems with their Fitbit coach app. I am wondering if that is where the problem is. Anyway, I did like this recover stretch. I saw some longer stretches and yoga segments I would like to try sometime.
Total time today was 79 minutes, 230 calories, 3,269 steps.
Weights today day 1 back and biceps
single arm rows 5 sets 20# 10 reps (last time I used 25 and Kelly uses 30) I felt I should be a bit careful.
seated split stance reverse fly (single arm) 12,10,10,10,10# 10 reps(Kelly uses 12#) I did 3 sets seated and hit my knee at the odd angle I seem to get in. Maybe not bent over enough? I did the last 2 standing in a lunge stance.
frog legs on bench 20,20,10,10,10 reps
alternating pledges seated 15# 8 reps each arm 5 sets (Kelly uses 20# and I think it feels more difficult seated.
preacher curls 12# 8 reps 5 sets (Kelly uses 12#)
Abs reverse crunch hip thrust variations 5 sets 10 reps last set 20 reps I swear I counted 4 sets though.

We did a hike and a snowshoe this morning up a closed road. we used to drive the road but it was closed several years ago. we think the forest service has plans for it eventually. it was cleaned off last year of all the downed trees and a big washout repaired, but still gated and officially closed. hardly anyone uses it now and it was never a busy place. so we hiked uphill for 2 1/2 hours, then snowshoed for an hour or so, then cane back down. 4 .5 to 5 hours total . didn't see any animals but lots of tracks. deer, a very big elk, coyotes and/ or a wolf, grouse. the road is too long for us to get all the way to the top. when we could drive to the snowline it wasn't that long. I am pooped. it was a lot of work.

Deb I love Stacked sets upper. I am a big fan of supersetting, my favorite way to exercise. it goes fast too. I never feel like I'm dragging thru it.

Valerie, we have Hulu, Prime, and Netflix. Nice that you can still get out some.

Judy, stay safe. I knew your state was getting worse. It is hard to disinfect and clean to the point I feel like I am sure I got every speck of things. I wipe down my steering wheel and door handles after I unload the car. It would pay for paint stores to do outside pick up or something. My daughter did some painting, but they had paint already. I was going to start with the 5 day strength this morning, but the Raw channel was not loading and after several tries I went ahead and did the Have a Ball workout then when I tried again Raw loaded. At first I thought maybe internet, but Amazon was working and my laptop was working. Not sure what the problem was.

Deb, Lite Stacked Sets is a good one. There are really a lot of good workouts and it is easy to forget them. I heard from the Arthritis Center and they are taking lots of cautions and still seeing all of their patients, so I guess I will be going May 6th unless something changes. They are changing things for infusion patients. They don't get blankets, I guess for having to clean or put them somewhere and no one can be there with them unless it is a child that really needs the parent. Not many children in the arthritis center though. I am feeling better today. I went over nutrition for RA and since I have been eating more with heart health guidelines I have been back to eating fat free yogurt and grains. I need to drop those and find some substitutes as they are inflammatory for RA. Also I have been eating some peanut butter as it was the easiest thing to get when I had grocery delivery. It is not a good thing either. I need to get back to just almond butter or other nut and seed butter.

Carolyn, I find when I can get outside in the sun for a bit it does help mood and I sleep better. I need to make it more of a regular habit. I went out today since the sun is out and did a bit of clean up of seedlings and leaves blowing around the walkway. It is 87 here today. We have another freeze in the forecast though. I have a lot of still wet leaves that need cleaned up in our yard. Nice work on the Strong and Sweaty Bootcamp. It seems like it has been quite awhile since I have used t hat one.

Lori, hope you are well and staying safe.

Today I did a 30 minute Peloton ride. After the ride I was going to do Raw 5 day strength day 1 but the Raw channel wasn't working. I wanted to get something in so I did ICE Muscle Meltdown Triceps. I may try to do something else this evening.

Deb-Thank you. Nice job with Stacked Sets Upper! I should do a week of LiTe this month. How are things in Buffalo?

Diane Sue-Thank you. Great workouts today! I dread reading the news every day. It's getting really bad. Only New York and New Jersey are worse. I checked on the FB group and it looked like several other people were reporting issues with the Raw channel today. Hopefully it will be back soon. Chris's doctor appointment for 4/13 was cancelled, understandably. I'm glad they did as I would have tried to get him to cancel if they hadn't. I wouldn't go anywhere near a doctor's office, clinic or hospital in metro Detroit right now unless it was a true emergency.

Carolyn-Great job with Strong & Sweaty Bootcamp!

Valerie-Great job with your hike! I love superset workouts too.

Hi to Lori,

Take care,

Judy

Deb we have commercial free Hulu. We won’t watch anything with commercials. I don’t think it’s that much more expensive and I don’t want to sound like a primadonna..... but no. I dont watch anything with commercials. ruins whatever I’m trying to watch. We watch the shows we want to watch and turn tv off after. I can’t stand the tv running in the background all the time . We have family who do that. It’s a big reason we don’t visit them it’s constant! First thing they do when they get up and last thing off at night. Don’t understand how anyone can tolerate that.
with all the people video conferencing and working from home, sometimes our internet service is slower than usual. not a big deal but probably depends on demand in your area.
It seems like the Governors must consult with each other about measures to take. about 2 days ago school was cancelled until fall. the decision will be reassessed as numbers, data comes in. I was not a huge fan of Governor Inslee until this event. we have flattened the curve and distancing is working here because of his decisions which at the time seemed unimaginable. He made the right decisions. it is interesting that when times get challenging, real leaders come to the front.

Going to be a lovely day today and for a long stretch. Think we will do a garden day today. we need to get manure and a few other things. I'm tired from yesterday and woke up too early and could not get back to sleep.

Today I did Intensity, step only premix, for 31 minutes and 217 calories burned. My average heart rate was 133 and maximum heart rate was 161. I was going to do the premix that included low impact HiiT, but changed my mind. I’m glad that I did. The step portion alone is very “high intensity“ even with modifications. I also did the Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, Morning Energy practice for an additional 18 minutes and 31 calories. I actually did the yoga when I first got up. I was feeling some tightness in my hips and needed to release them a bit.

Judy, nice job with your Peloton ride and ICE Muscle Meltdown Triceps. I’m glad that Chris’ appointment was cancelled. Now is not the time to go to a doctor’s office if it can be avoided. My mammogram and breast specialist appointments were rescheduled for mid June. I certainly hope things are better by then.

Valerie, it’s good to see that Washington appears to be on the recovery side of this pandemic. Our schools have also been canceled for the remainder of the year. This is an unbelievable time that we are going through.

Diane Sue, that’s interesting information from the Nutritionist. I know that yogurt and dairy can be inflammatory for many people, but I hadn’t thought of it in relation to arthritis. Did she have suggestions for replacing grains?

Hello to Deb and Lori. Stay safe and healthy.

Good morning,

Today I did a Cardio Coach workout on the treadmill, 32 minutes, 226 calories. Looks like some good news coming out of NYC....antibodies are being collected from patients that have recovered from the virus, and are going to be given to existing patients to see if it will help heal/cure them. Prayers that this works!

Carolyn, good job on S&S Bootcamp. :). I think I did the Stacked Sets workout when I first got the DVD's, but totally forgot about it until I remembered after seeing Valerie doing it a number of times. It is a great upper body workout, nice standard exercises, not a lot of changing weights etc. John had a dermatology appointment that was just a yearly check, they called and cancelled.

Judy, nice ride and tricep work! things here are getting worse, since they are doing more testing. I am not sure if it made national news, but we had a nursing home here where most of the residents and staff tested positive, when only a few residents had any symptoms. It was a decision for some reason for the administers of the place to test everyone, even though they did not have symptoms. This is very scary to me. They were going about their lives, even with social distancing, who knows who they infected in their homes?

Valerie, yes, my selecting the plan with commercials was really dumb. The one with commerciasl is $5.99 a month, the one without is something like $12.99. It is free either way...DUH! Where do you get manure?

Diane Sue, Wow! 87? I wish we would get about 47! that is too bad about the streaming. But like you said, we all have enough workouts to figure out something to do in the meantime right? LOL. I can understand about not using the blankets in the arthritis center, and wanting the people to be on their own. Now some stores have rules: "1 Person per Cart, no children" Like Carolyn mentioned, do the RA nutritionists have suggestions for substitutions?

Take care,
