Traildoggie
Cathlete
Went on a hike this morning, but not what we intended. we knew there was a washout closing the road access to vehicles, but thought we could cross it and walk the road to the trailhead. Turns out there was another much bigger washout up the road maybe a mile further. we decided it was too dangerous to cross, so we walked back to different road and went up it to the end. there is ( was) a trail to a nice lake but looks like it will not be accessible unless the forest service fixes the road. this is WAY beyond what amateur trail crews can do, needs heavy equipment. anyway, we ended up walking 4 hrs 10 min up and back down, climbing over multiple washouts. these are gravel logging roads. thought they might be OK for mt biking but negative on that too. We often do "road crew" work with a chain saw and move debris, but this was major damage.
Josie, thanks, I didn't check email yet today but will shortly. You still amaze me with the mileage you can do.
Lori I never ever thought my DH would retire permanently but he has. He "adjusted" quickly and will not go back to a regular job again.
Lynda, the second season of Happy Valley was excellent. I thought they left enough things open ended to easily do a third season. in reading reviews on Netflix, some people think there's another season in the works. I don't find it hard to understand dialogue on this one though we turn on subtitles anyway. The Brits use different expressions so even if you "hear" it doesn't always help. at least with subtitles you can se what you heard.
