Good morning,

I hate turning the clocks ahead! Why does that hour seem to make the day seem so much shorter?

Just getting us started...will be back after doing some type of workout, not sure yet what to so...

hey, did anyone check out this thread and the YouTube link....this woman is a little strange, ( she is enamoured with her butt!)..but pretty funny and the workout seems great...I put a link to it on my iPad desktop to try it out...

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did Burn Sets, Chest, Back, Shoulders (50:43).

I am really missing my hour of sleep, but decided to get up at 6:30 to transition as quickly as possible to daylight savings. At least it feels like spring today--lots of sun and in the 50s.

Comfort Sunday meal again tonight. The main course is a pulled pork sandwich, which I love.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

Woke up this morning with a sore throat. It's possible it's a pollen hit from yard work yesterday, but more likely it's related to virus exposure on this week's plane trip. I am taking a quiet day and vit c, zinc. hopefully I can fend it off. DH is OK so far. we leave on our "big" vacation next weekend, no matter what. going to southern utah area.

we planted peas and spinach yesterday, got the desk containers ready for transplanting lettuce outside. traditionally people here plant peas on presidents day, but we are a little higher so I usually wait a few weeks longer.

I don't mind the switch to DST. I stay up later than normal, and try to sleep a little later in the morning, and I'm adjusted usually in 2 days. I wasn't feeling too sharp this morning so it was no problem to stay in bed a little longer.

Good evening ladies!

Couple of beautiful days here in New England. Even though there is tons of snow on the ground it still felt like spring is not far off!

Chester had some great long walks. Today we both came back pretty muddy since we walked on dirt roads and trails. My shoes and calves and his entire underside was mud. So we played in the thigh deep snow in my yard for a while until we were clean enough to come in the house to wash down. Guess snow can be useful. :)

Today I tried out Ride and loved it and managed the entire workout. Been a long time since I have been on a bike and I know I will be feeling this workout tomorrow. I have bike shoes with clips from my biking days years ago but using sneakers with the cage is just fine for me now. I do not feel the need to change the pedals.

4 more weeks to go Garance and will be done with our 90 rotation! Seems to be moving along. I like the recent low impact rotation Cathe posted for March. I may decide to start this one next.

I hate turning clock too. Did not really feel it so much today but when the alarm goes off at 4:30AM tomorrow I will feel it.

Have a great evening!

Good morning,

I did Run Fit ( only 36 minutes of it, did not do Challenge 2)...this is another download from Candace Grasso, the one that did CC #6 with Coach Sean. I like this one a lot better than the walking one I had. You can do whatever you want with it, walk, jog run etc. It's all flat, and assumes you may be running outside, too, not only on the treadmill.

I did that Butt Bible workout yesterday after x-Train chest, Back & shoulders, ( timesaver pre-mix), it was good, I was able to do all the exercises and it went by pretty fast. It's only 20 minutes but a great non-weighted lower body workout you can do anywhere, like a hotel room for instance.

Garance, Yum, pulled pork is a favorite of mine too. I had it Friday night at a BBQ place we go to.

Valerie, hope you are able to stop whatever you are getting before it takes hold.

Lori, Chester is one lucky dog! Nice spring like weather here this weekend too.

It's 54 degrees here now...but it's not supposed to last past tomorrow....I think spring is here, at least I can hope...

Josie, hope you had fun with the peanuts!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valeri, and Lori--

This morning I did Legs premix 6 (48:33).

I know what you mean about the mud, Lori. We dip Max's paws in a bucket of water when he comes in because it is so dirty-snirty (snow and dirt mingled) out there. Today it's in the 50s too, but not as much sun, and it sounds like we have more cold on the way. Hard to believe we are on week 10 of this rotation.

Pulled pork was excellent last night. Served with a nice cole slaw and onion rings. I ate half, brought the other half home, as usual. It also felt great to wear a lighter weight dress for a change.

Hope you are feeling better and nipped that cold before it took over, Valerie.

I'll know by tomorrow if I stopped the cold. a little better today, but still a slight sore throat but nothing else obvious. no exercise until I see how this works out. this is the lightest week of exercise I've had in I can't remember when!!

Lynda, thats why you have control of weight issues... you always eat less than you're served. If I like it, I tend to eat the whole thing! I weighed and still no loss, but also not gain. I didn't expect a gain but sometimes the weight gods are very unfair.

Good evening all!

This morning I ran on TM then tonight Burn sets ch,sh,b. I have been keeping track of weights I have used from the begining of this rotation and this week I have really noticed strength gains.

I am like you Valerie especially when we go out to eat. If I like it I will eat the whole thing! Good for you Garance with your control. Glad you are feeling better too!

Chat with you tomorrow.....

Hi Ladies,
I'm having a great time with the peanuts and my DS. This week is my recovery week and have decided to do something different. I ran 3.4miles on Saturday and because of doing Insanity I was able to shave 8 minutes of the last time I ran. I ran again today and ran 2 minutes faster than Saturday, my times were 47 min in January, 39 min on Saturday and 37 min today :). I will be starting Insanity again next week.

On Tuesday and Thursday I will be spinning .

Good morning,

No workout today, late class last night.

Garance, we also had spring like weather yesterday, I think it got up to high 50's, now back in the 30's and it's supposed to rain. I guess that is what spring is all about right? Yes, that is great control you have, only eating half of the meal. I don't think I could do that...I do it when the portions are huge, but not normally. LOL..

Valerie, hope you feel better.

Josie, good job on the running! Nice improvement.

Lori, I give you a lot of credit for doing 2 workouts a day, especially with how early you get up!

Work, then home to crash...

Take care,

Good morning ladies!

Suppose to rain later this evening for us too.

Deb I do not know where I get the energy from. I have always been this way. I love to run and I love my DVD workouts so I compromise. I only run 2 to 2 1/2 miles on TM when I have a scheduled weight workout. So I actually do not do two workouts everyday. Most! but not everyday. :) I am sure at some point this will catch up with me. So in the meantime I am just going with the flow! My husband works tons of hours so I have plenty of time on my hands too.

So with the above said...ran 2 miles on TM this morning :) then plan to do legs tonight. Have not decided if it will be Xtrain legs or Butts and Guts. Will depend on my mood.

Josie...glad you are having fun on your vacation. Are the peanuts your grandchildren? Assuming yes! Great job with Insanity! That is one tough rotation.

Tried out the workout blender yesterday and I love it! I only have a few downloads but I was able to take Ride and shorten the workout a bit for days when I really do not want to do 60 mins of spinning. I ordered the new workouts with the downloads so I am excited about the possibilities!

Have a great day ladies!

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did Bis and Tris, premix 2, which includes core 2 (58:05). Okay, I poop out on all of those dips--just plop my butt down in between sets. I also can only do a couple of kickbacks in the plank position.

I really like only eating half of my meal when I go out, because then I feel like it's okay to go out to dinner as often as we do. I ate the other half of my sandwich last night, but threw out the onion rings (soggy), and gave my beans and macaroni salad to DH. So dinner for me was half a pulled pork sandwich and a big salad. Grilled a ham steak for DH, who always eats his whole meal.

Tomorrow is sclerotherapy for my left leg, so I won't be exercising and will be one day behind on my rotation. I will probably lose Sunday as well, because we are off to Boston this weekend to see our younger son and his girlfriend, and DH's sister and her family. This is the needle procedure--different from the laser therapy on closing the big vein. Doctor thinks I will probably have one more needle procedure on both legs at the same time. My right leg is looking good.

Good for you, Josie, on cutting back your time! Very impressive! Another energizer bunny in you, Lori. I feel like the tortoise, plodding along a day at a time, slow and steady.

Snow is all melted, but now it's pouring rain and the temp is supposed to dip. Yes, Deb, this is spring. I'm just hoping it's no more snow.

I took it easy again yesterday, went to bed early and took an antihistamine similar to ones people use for allergies. my throat is better this morning and I THINK I dodged the bullet. I went to yoga and did half the grocery shopping. will get my hair trimmed, finish the shopping, and then do a weight workout. when Ii'm edging toward a cold, hunkering down, plenty of rest, not exercising much really helps. sometimes, it's futile, but this is not the first time. I did "normal" activities the last two days but no formal exercise with lots of heavy breathing and sweating, and extra sleep. so will do weights today and if all is still clear, will do a regular workout tomorrow. This is so much better than 5 days with my face in a kleenex box.

We don't eat out often( almost never) so when I do, if I like the entree I eat it all. I never eat fries, onion rings, or anything with mayonaise...a particular hatred for that stuff. If I can, I order different sides I enjoy. the restaurants we've been too did not seem to have the over-the-top portion sizes, and servings were what I'd call "normal". but then , we seldom eat out and I never have dessert. DH always does, and the most I do is taste his. so eating the "main" helps me avoid being tempted by dessert too. Still, impressive control Lynda! I will get these 10 lbs off it it kills me, and I'm thinking I might come close....

Josie, those are impressive gains in a short time. plus you are carrying 12 less lbs on the run, which undoubtedly helps increase your speed. we often weight our packs for hiking/backpacking and 12 lbs makes a difference. Really! It's hard to trim 12 lbs of weight off a pack, but better if you trim 12 lbs of your body.
Lori, I agree, your double workout days are enviable! I do two workouts on tues/ thurs when I do yoga, but I'm thinking I may try to adapt your technique. I have enough time, just don't usually do it. and yoga is fun and not easy but not the same burn as TM, bike, or weights.

Good morning,

I did X-train Bi's & Tri's ( premix 3) today and the Butt Bible workout.. This workout is kind of nice, no weights, but you really feel it. I think after doing it 3 or so times it probably gets too easy, and you can either add weights, or go to level 2, which seems much harder to me. I like the fact that it's only 20 minutes and I can tack it on to another workout.

Lori, what are you watching while on the treadmill now that you finished DA? Do you do the workout blender stuff on the iPad or on your desktop? I never even looked at it since I only have Travel Fit as a download, and that is pretty straight forward, didn;t even look at the existing premixes on it. I was tempted to pay the extra $20 to get the downloads for the new series, just so I had all of them still if I decide to sell some of the DVD's, but didn't end up doing it. Cathe puts so many pre-mixes on now that I don't think I would want to think up other ones!

Garance, good luck with the procedure today.

Valerie, glad you are not getting the full blown cold/etc. You are smart to rest and not let it take over.

Work, agility class, another late night...( late for me that is!)

Take care,

Good mornng Ladies!

Last night I ended up doing Disc 17 legs from STS. One of the few DVD's I have downloaded. I love this leg workout. Love using heavy weights doing legs I think that is why I am just not a huge fan of the xtrain legs workout.

This morning my legs were a little tired from the last nights work out so instead of running I walked for 2 miles on a really good incline to get the heart rate up.

Deb - I started watching Sons of Anarchy and love it. I did by the downloads for Cathe's new series. I agree with you about all the premixes so this is why I never purchased the downloads beforehand. However, I think at times it may be useful so I bought the new ones because of the huge discount. I put the new shorter version of Ride into my Itunes so I can watch on Ipad while on bike. I will do the same with any other video I create but depending on the workout will hook my Ipad up to TV to do the workout.

So nice and sunny here this morning. Tons of rain yesterday so good to see the sun. really enjoy leaving working now when it is still daylight.

Glad you are feeling better Valerie!

Garance...yes good luck today on your procedure. I do not live to far from Boston yet hardly ever get there. Have fun this weekend.

Chat with you in the morning!

Did all my errands yesterday which amounted to a full schedule. just before dinner I did xtrain chest, shoulder, back. I stayed with previous used weight levels. did all the pushups.
I have a slight bit of congestion, at most 5% of my usual so decent ending. I'll probably do another weight session today. I can do those without getting into too much heavy breathing. DH thinks I'm such a wimp but I get so miserable with head colds that I don't care WHAT he thinks. I've learned what activities push me into full blown symptoms and it's worth a few light days to avoid them if I can. this approach doesn't always work, but it's worth trying. I slept almost 11 hours last night and woke up feeling almost normal. the throat congestion goes away with a couple cups of hot coffee.

we're doing our planning and loading for vacation. it takes plenty to make sure we have what we need. we don't stay near stores, need to have everything with us. I precook, spices, etc so we decide what we want for a meal and it's all ready to toss together. I mostly stick to "stove top" things so I try to plan for easy things with variety. this is for about 12 days so it takes planning.
I don't like sons of anarchy. DH does, so I struggle through it. that is one I have trouble understanding... I can understand what they say but it makes no sense. another one I tried and failed at is "the Closer". does not come with subtitles and I never can understand the main, Kyra sedgwick I think. she'll be talking and all is fine and then she turns her head and I get nothing. It's so funny how it goes from 100% clear to 0% clear. gave up on that one. I ordered the third season of DA, hopefully will come today. I thought we'd seen all available, but my record at netflix doesn't show the third season.

Hi Deb, Josie, Valerie, and Lori--

Did the sclerotherapy on the left leg this morning. It didn't hurt at all, and I am wearing just a knee stocking, so it's comfortable. The full-length thing is kind of bulky. I'm not sure whether I will do Cardio Leg Blast tomorrow or skip to the Hard Strikes. I will see how my leg is feeling.

Lori, we are going to a restaurant in Boston named Da Vinci. I will tell you how it is. A couple years ago we spent virtually a whole day following the freedom trail, starting at Old Ironsides. It was really fun and educational, and free. The museum on the Battle of Bunker Hill has a ranger there to answer questions. I think this year we will go the museum of fine arts. Maybe Faneuil Hall for some shopping, too. Last year was the Science Museum, and we spent nearly an hour with the butterflies and another 30 minutes looking at the geckos--it takes awhile because they have camouflage (Who knew there were so many varieties?). Very fascinating. Love Boston.

Have a fun trip, Valerie!

Hi to Deb and Josie!

Good morning,

So tired, I could have slept for another couple of hours....why doesn't this happen on a Saturday when I can sleep in?
coffee.gif

Lori, I never heard of that show/series, but then, I am so out of it when it comes to TV etc. Did you buy the Apple cable that lets you hook up the iPad to your TV? I am thinking of getting that. I think it's about $40. I have to make sure it will work with the older TV I use in the workout area.

Valerie, wow your vacation sounds like a lot of work! Will you be camping all that time or do you go to any type of hotel/cabins etc?

Garance, glad the procedure worked out well. It's amazing that you are able to do a workout so soon afterwards.

Work, then hair color/pedi after work.

Hi to Josie,

Take care,
