Good morning,

No workout yesterday, except for agility class.

Judy, Happy Birthday! What a nice way to spend your day. :). great job on doing all those new JS workouts! The stretch one sounds good.

Carolyn, that sounds like a good combo. You are doing well with those heavy weights! A result from STS?

Lori, so glad to hear Nilla is better. I agree, no reason to put her through the stress of taking blood. That is a sign of the times that your son does not know how to drive a stick shift.

Valerie, great job on the pushups. I need to try to do them on my toes again. I started using the FitTower to do them...where you can lower the bar a little more each time. I also like those Muscle Meltdown premixes with the extra set. I was doing a short cardio and one of those MM premixes for a week's "1 Body Part per Day" rotation and really enjoyed it. Yes, please post a link if they let you know there is a sale. John said he has some Patagonia stuff and believes they run small in sizes...maybe I should consider the large. I need to find out what their return policy is first before ordering.

Diane Sue, does the jewelry site that you tried to get something for have gift cards? The problem is with MFP themselves...I don't use the Fitbit workout part or calories. It was the MFP tech person that put the workout in. They are trying to simulate the problem I am having, and of course they don't understand it so they keep saying they can't find a problem. Typical of tech people. When you get your sleep results, are they for the whole day? including naps, or just from when you actually go to bed?

Take care,

I would say Patagonia garments are well made out of very nice“performance”fabrics and favor a more athletic build. The don’t have “short “ inseams so can't get pants for either of us. The hoods on hoodies stay in place instead of working their way off your head quickly. Always well made. I have quite a few of their tops for outdoor wear and always get a large. Would rather have a bit of room since we layer a lot, and my shoulders are wide and mediums are too tight there. Places like REI carry some of their things too but never saw this hoodie anywhere else.

Lori I have been doing mostly knee push ups but lots of them. I started to go back to some toe pushups using the bench and 2 risers. the way they are spread out in supersets makes is easier for me. push ups are the hardest part of a superset because I'm not pushing the weight in the presses and flys. I am doing cathe weight.. think it was 12's? I could do more reps and heavier but I am focusing instead on pushups. If I am not too tired from the other 4 exercises, I can do 4 sets of 12 toe push ups. eventually I will try to increase weights on the other moves too, but I don't think I can increase all at once. anyway, that is my strategy. when I can do all the pushups on the floor, I will think about increasing weights in the presses and flys but not everything at once.

Hope Nilla has had a good weekend.

Carolyn yes, I saw there was something new and noticed the site down for a while yesterday. I like the idea of easier "free" foods. sometimes it might just make you aware of things that have been overlooked that would fit into the program if knew about them.

Bad sleep last night. we had dinner at someone's house and I was up past normal bedtime. never sleep right after that. I can't sleep longer in the morning either. makes it hard to socialize if I pay a penalty every time.

Today is my rest day, however, I did a short restorative yoga for stress relief. It was only 23 minutes and was very relaxing.

I need to get started with my Christmas shopping. I have not done anything yet but I plan to go go for simplicity this year.

Deb, I am definitely stronger after doing STS and I feel more comfortable with heavier weights. I’m not a big fan of one body part per day rotations. I don’t mind for a week or so, but not for a longer time. My favorite rotation would include one upper body day, one lower body day, and a total body workout during the week.

Lori, I liked the WS3 1-Mile of Motivation okay. I used it as an extended warmup before starting the strength workout. Her 15 Minute Fat Blaster is my preference for a short cardio workout.

Valerie and Lori, WW is making some changes to the program that will roll out on your weigh-in day this week. My Leader told us about the upcoming changes but we won’t have the details until the meeting this week. You should get an email about it. Smart points are not going away, but there will be more zero points foods. The WW site was down for several hours yesterday for changes and there is now information available on the website. The new program is called Freestyle.

Hello to Diane Sue and Judy. Enjoy your day everyone.

Good afternoon ladies,

This morning was WS3 Tone and Flow. This was a great workout for a Sunday morning. I then did the newest BBS Trampoline Cardio that was just released on their streaming site this week. Loved it! Total time was 54 mins / 400 cal.

Nilla seems happy again and loving life..oh this roller coaster!

Valerie...for the Fit Tower workouts I am on my toes using the bar. Next time I need to do pushups (other than FT) I will use my step and go on my toes and see what happens. Thanks for encouraging me! :).

Carolyn and Judy...I used 5lbs for Tone and Flow and this worked good for me. This workout snuck up on me an ar times my heart rate was higher then I anticipated. Some of the balance moves really had me working.

Carolyn...I love her 15min fat blaster and may sub this one in next time. I am pretty much done shopping. Very unusall for me to be done this early but this is an easy year for us. Thanks for the heads of on WW. I could have easily missed the email.

Hi to Deb and Carolyn!

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Strong Total Body. 47 minutes, 228 calories. Exercise input in MFP is still not working for me.

Valerie, great strategy on the push ups. Sorry about your sleep...the same happens to me if I am out later than normal....too wound up to sleep well.

Carolyn, Simplicity in shopping sounds like a good plan! :). I am doing that exact rotation....1 Total Body, 1 Upper Day, 1 Lower day and a some cardio in between. I usually make the Total body be metabolic or a PHA type workout. That to me counts as a cardio as well.

Lori, so glad Nilla is doing better.

Hi Diane Sue, & Judy...

A new puppy class starts today, then Kylee and I are going to an elementary school where I believe they are having the kids read to the dogs...

Take care,

No workout yesterday. It was a busy day at church and family day. I am going to try to get in a workout today. I have small grandchildren here that are still asleep.

Deb, I finally found some earrings with turquoise and Swarvoski crystals that are pink she had on Pinterest and I got a turquoise choker from Amazon. What a relief to find something for my granddaughter. The sleep is generally for night only. You have to have a nap that is longer than an hour for it to register it as sleep. I did that once and thought my Fit Bit had messed up :) Tech people are hard to deal with. After AT&T and my car, along with MFP and Fit Bit , I have no confidence. I try to find the problem myself. They have internet, they should be able to come up with solutions just by research themselves. BTW, on my car, it looks like they took the panel off and took out my radio, gps, system, because it is recessed and loose. I am afraid to have anyone do anything with it again since the car is working now though. It is frustrating.

I will get back here later. I want to try and do some cardio downstairs before the grandchildren get up.

Today I did Flex Train. I had forgotten how much I like this one and I haven’t done it in ages. My time was 1 hour (I had to pause a couple of times) with 264 calories burned. Average heart rate was 113 and maximum heart rate 143. I followed up with WS3 Tone and Flow for 32 minutes, 149 calories, average heart rate 116, and maximum heart rate 148. It’s funny that my heart rate was similar for the two very different workouts.

I decided to try Cathe’s December rotation with some personal tweaking as always. I have been waiting for her to post it and she finally did last night.

Lori, I liked Tone and Flow too, but I used 3# weights since I had just finished Flex Train. Balance was definitely a challenge for me during this workout!

Diane Sue, life gets pretty busy this time of year. It’s great that you have found the earrings for your granddaughter. I hope you are able to get your workout this morning. It will be the same for me when my family is here for Christmas.

Hello to Deb, Judy and Valerie.

Good evening ladies,

This morning was WS3 Cardio Sculpt. This is my second time doing this workout and I do like it. Tonight I did a LEKfit bounce workout. Total time was 54 mins.

Tomorrow I have an early morning flight to Philadelphia for our Strategic Planning Meeting. It is at 6:30am. Ugh. Will be leaving the house at 4AM. Double ugh!!! I come home Wednesday evening so hoping I can get a workout in Wednesday morning. Bringing bands just in case.

Deb...you seem to be back into the swing of things with your workouts. Great one today! The new puppy class sounds adorable!

Diane Sue...church and family are a good way to spend a day! I can see why you have no confidence with tech people. You have had your fair share of fustration. The earings sound beautiful.

Carolyn...I love Flex Train! Been ages since I have done this workout. Tone and Flow surprisingly got my HR up at times. Was not expecting this at all. I was able to use 5lbs but I had not had a previous workout.

Hi to Valerie and Judy!

I did Kelly Coffey Amped Up Cardio workout #1 and the first combo and drill segment of combo 2 before the grandchildren got up. That was 39 minutes, heart rate average 139, max 169, 265 calories, 3,519 steps. I got out Christmas decorations and they had fun helping set things out. They have a hard time understanding that I don't have trees to set up and that I go buy a live one. The 3 year old kept wondering where my tree was. He really wanted to put the decorations on it :) He persisted on Mary being on top of the nativity stable. My dancing and singing santa and Mrs clause got quite the workout and he covered them in hand sanitizer. (hanitizer) I had to laugh at his name for it. Then we made spritz cookies and the were well coated with sprinkles an sugar crystals. I think I was pleasantly exhausted when they left this evening.

Valerie, I cannot sleep in after a late night either. My husband does it , but it does not work for me at all.

Carolyn, when we have out of town company, I rarely can get a workout in. I love having my family come visit. I feel lucky that even my teen grandchildren like to come over. I thought about checking the new rotation. The only thing is, I expect Kelly's soon and Cathe's shouldn't be too far out and then I wouldn't stay devoted to the rotation.

Lori, I hope you can get a workout in Wednesday. That is so early to have to leave for a flight. I think my daughter had to do that when they left for Cancun. They bought my grandson over the night before.

Hi Everyone,

Sunday was a rest day and today I did a Spinerval, then Muscle Meltdown Triceps. Chris wanted to go to the gym tonight so I ended up doing a short chest and shoulder workout too. Tomorrow I'm going to do WS3 Lower Body and Barefoot Cardio Core.

Deb-I uninstalled the mfp app from my iPhone then reinstalled it and now it seems to be working. The desktop version is still acting up though. I like your rotation plan! I agree, I think metabolic workouts count as cardio too.

Valerie-Great job with the pushups! I also have trouble sleeping after a late night out.

Carolyn-Flex Train and Tone & Flow is a great combo! Cathe's December rotation looks good. I may pick a few of the workouts to use when I'm done with WS3.

Lori-I really like WS3 Cardio Sculpt too. I can't decide if I like that one or Metabolic Conditioning the best.
Hope you have a good trip tomorrow.

Diane Sue-That sounds like a really fun day! That's so cute calling the hand sanitizer "hanitizer" :)

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Live Low Impact Cardio Hiit...34 minutes, 201 calories. We had a good time at the school yesterday, but after about an hour, visiting 6 classrooms, with lots of kids petting her, Kylee was done and wanted to leave.

Diane Sue, nice you found that jewelry for your granddaughter. Your day with the grandchildren sounds lovely. "Hanitizer" is so cute. Yes, tech people can be frustrating....I have this back and forth thing going on in email with the MFP tech people. At their request, I listed step by step how I enter an exercise, and they cannot seem to see the problem. I told them to go over and look at my exercise page, and see that it does not show up on my Home Page. They actually asked last night, if I wanted them to continue to try to duplicate it...? huh? Isn't that what they are there for? Are you going to take the car back and have them put that panel on correctly?

Carolyn, Flex Train is a great workout....I keep forgetting about that one too. I always look at Cathe's rotations, but find that there are more workouts that I really don't care for listed, and would have to do a lot of substituting, so I don't find myself wanting to do them.

Lori, safe trip...you are probably already there! The puppies are so cute, but so active! I keep forgetting how much work they are.

Judy, good workouts. Yes, I use the desktop version of MFP...it's acting pretty strange...

Class at noon, not sure if I will get a workout in this morning, very tired from a late class last night. Did not get home until 10:00...

Take care,

This morning I did ICE Rock’m Sock’m Kickbox. Workout time was 48 minutes with 355 calories burned. Average heart rate was 135 and maximum heart rate 167.

Deb, there are usually workouts in Cathe’s rotations that I don’t like too, but I don’t have a problem switching them for something else. For example, I know I am not doing IMAX 3 from this rotation! I’ll just replace it with something I prefer to do. For me that is easier than starting from scratch with a rotation.

Diane Sue, I am waiting on the new workouts too. I will probably switch to them when they arrive, but I suspect that I have at least 2 weeks to work from this rotation.

Lori, I hope that you had an eventful flight this morning.

Hello to Judy and Valerie.

Today I did Strong and Sweaty Total Body +bonus abs, 74 minutes(10 for writing and changing equipment) , 343 calories. 1,468 steps, heart rate 109-max 158. I need to bathe Gertie and do some major house cleaning today since I think it is mostly an uneventful day till tonight when we go to my grandson's homecoming wrestling duals.

Judy, nice job with the muscle meltdown and the gym.

Deb, I don't think that I am going to take my car back to the dealership. I am afraid they will mess something else up trying to get the GPS in right and fasten down the cover. Maybe later I will try the electronics place that did installation work on my husbands, and installed the back up camera for me. I would have to pay for that though. I rarely look at the desktop version of MFP. Only to make adjustments that I cannot do on the app. I don't understand why they would think that you would ask for help and then just want to forget it. Fit Bit works with My Net Diary, but I think there is a fee to do it. I like that program a lot too. It has some things that I think are better than MFP. Sometimes I use both programs, but then it becomes time consuming.

Carolyn, I was going to do the Ice Kickboxing yesterday, but it would only play the FBI warning and then give me an error message. I was using the dvd player in my bedroom, rather than wait for the grandchildren to get up. I am glad I pulled out two dvds. It used to do that in my workout room till I bought the new blu-ray dvd player. I often wonder if it was a pirated copy or one that was damaged previously since I bought it at Amazon. It worked fine at first, so I don't get it.

We tried to xc ski yesterday, but it was a lot of driving for nothing. not enough snow where we went, and someone drove up ahead of us besides. it's hard to ski down if there are two deep tire ruts in the snow. we tried another place today, and had much the same problem, but we skied up for 1 1/2 hours, and then back down in half an hour. snow was nice and dry but the same issue, not deep enough to keep out vehicle traffic and so two big ruts on the road, except for corners where it was all churned up. I don't understand why anyone would want to do this, but it is apparently great sport for people to drive up as far as they can in snow, get stuck, then get unstuck , give up and go back down.
No new snow for a while so we are going to try another spot tomorrow while the snow is fluffy. If it warms up and then freezes at night it turns into concrete. hard to tell ahead of time what will be driven on, so this is total guesswork.

I like Flex Train a lot.. I think there are some Strong and Sweaty ones I haven't even done yet, in addition to some of the ICE series. Plan is to work the ones I have rather than buy more. I spend more days outdoors, so I have developed "un-used workout buildup" .

Good morning,

Yesterday I did Ice Chiseled Upper Body. Something made the HRM lose contact for a bit so the calorie burn was off.

Carolyn, yep...any Imax in a rotation would need to be replaced for me as well. :).

Diane Sue, I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to the dealership. I bet the other place could fix it and do it right, but like you said, you should not have to pay for something that the dealership messed up! :(. Yes, MFP is really frustrating....they don't seem to understand what I keep telling them. An exercise I add shows up if it is in the database, but if I type a new one in...it doesn't show up, but the calories are added to my total daily count. Then I go back and delete the second one, and the first shows up....its really strange.

Valerie, that's too bad that you had to drive all that way, and not get any good snow. I hope you find a good spot today.

Agility class later, but we are supposed to get a big storm today...so class may be cancelled...

Hi to Judy, & Lori

Take care,

Anybody having an issue with their FitBit adding multiple "floors" to your count? Mine says I did 12 floors already today, and maybe I have done 2. Same with John's....his has him doing 10 floors, he may have done 1...

Today I did Ice Rock'm Sock'm kickbox, 50 minutes, 351 calories, heart rate average 138, max 164, 4,424 steps. I then did Ice muscle meltdown triceps, 14 minutes, 63 calories, heart rate average, 108, max 130, 136 steps. Total time was 64 minutes, 414 calories. Lots to do today, family dinner tonight and I did not do it all yesterday. Got Gertie a bath though. Went to my grandson's wrestling dual and got to film and get pictures of him walking out with his escort for the homecoming court. He didn't get a crown, but it was fun and special.

Deb, my Fit Bit says 3 floors which would be right for my coming upstairs and then making a trip up and down to let Gertie outside. I just don't think the dealership knew how to put that panel and stuff back on right and my trust level is very small.

Valerie, it is nice that you got in some skiing. Yes, it makes no sense to drive up only to get stuck in the snow. Hopefully you can find a better spot without tracks. I do not have a workout that I have not at least tried at one point.

Today I did Party Rocking Step 2. I did combos 1-4 for 40 minutes and 268 calories burned. Average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate 151.

Deb, I have never had the Fitbit to add floors. I read in one of the help articles that it counts going up 10 feet or more as a floor. I love IMAX 2 and I will likely do that one, but not IMAX 3. Kickmax is another one where I will choose something else.

Diane Sue, I’m glad that the Rock’m Sock’m dvd worked for you today. I don’t blame you for not going back to the dealership.

Valerie, I hope you are able to get some skiing in today.

Hi to Judy and Lori.

Deb-My Fitbit says 17 floors now, and it looks like my daily average is around 35. That seems kind of high, but we live in a 3 level condo and I go up and down the stairs a lot. I have no idea if it is accurate. I'll have to watch the floor count closer.

Carolyn, I Max 2 has always been my favorite. I will do I Max 3 too though it is not my choice one. The original one seems pretty tame to me though after the other two.

Judy, 3 levels would probably up the floor count. I have been 11 floors so far today, but by the time I go up to get ready for bed and to put some things away I should have my usual average of 14 floors. No grandchildren today, that usually has my floors near doubled. The little ones will call down to me for help with things or to put on shows for them. I don't let them go up there and have free run of the television.

Deb, that is odd about adding the workouts in like that. I have not had that experience with MFP. The only thing that I have noticed is all of those workouts that were already in the database still show up when I look at my exercises, but if I have not done them in a very long time they won't show up till I re-enter them. Then , I guess they would be in the database twice. I haven't looked to see if they are piling up in the exercises. It did not used to do that.
