Good morning,

We only stayed until 11:00 am yesterday, but will be back in there at 7:00 tomorrow. It doesn't even seem like the holdays to me...just another thing to get through until this project is over.

sorry to be such a downer...hope everyone is having a good weekend...

Take care,

Hi Deb and any later posters--

This morning I did KCM's Plateau Busters, both (45 min.).

Sorry the holidays are not more restful for you Deb. I hope you can retire soon. You sound bummed out, and I don't blame you. Went grocery shopping today and it was a complete zoo, but I must laud the cashiers and others there because they seemed very cheerful. We're going to the comfort Sunday meal tonight and out with friends tomorrow night, so I don't have any major cooking until Christmas Day, which is fine with me. I feel like I've been cooking and baking all week and need a brief respite.

We also have 2-3 inches of snow here and expecting a little more on Christmas Day.

Hi ladies! Not snowing here yet but I am told it is on it's way. I am off this week (yeah!) so will not mind the snow when it comes. I am done with my christmas shopping and I have no plans for the week. No big Christmas plans either. Christmas day will be just my husband and son. We are planning to make a brunch then have Chinese take out later in the day and watch movies. I am sure we will end up having a James Bond marathon once my son opens up his gift! We are all looking forward to this laid back Christmas.

Today's workout was CTX kickbox then 4DS kickbox (both cardio only) then finished with Cardio kick power drills. Ended up being about an hour. Really liking 4DS and looking forward to the other workouts in this series. Now off for Chester's walk!

Have a great night!

Good morning and Happy Christmas Eve!

I am off to work this morning, hope to be out by 4:00 or so.

We got our snow the other night, but it has pretty much melted. Only some remains on the grass. Looks good to me.

Tonight we go to my brother's house to celebrate, then to my cousins tomorow. Easy holiday for me, we bring chili con queso with chorizo dipping meatballs tonight, then I have to make mashed potatoes for tomorrow.

Have a good one!

good morning.. I did GS chest tricep on Saturday, and sunday did 30 on the treadmill and coremax #3. while on the treadmill I looked at parts of Intensity. I've never done this one and probably won't because of all the jumping /step work. there is a low intensity premix that looks fine but is only about 20 minutes. I have no idea how I got this disk unless it was included with some others that I wanted. anyone used this one?

In other annoyances, my kitty pulled out some of his stitches saturday nite. part of his incision is open. I hope I can at least talk to someone early this morning and find out the next thing to do. it doesn't seem to bother him but I don't want it not healing properly. He didn't give me any warning that he was going to self medicate, by scratching or biting at it. cats are so subtle. I found one of the stiches on the bedspread. and why couldn't he do it on a weekday morning when clinic people are available?

Deb, hope you get done early. it sounds like you will be doing low key things. Still, will be nice to get time off. hey, a dip and mashed potatoes is getting off WAY easy. We aren't doing anything this year except meeting neighbors for a glass of wine.
I hit the store yesterday only for coffee, and was glad I'd done my grocery shopping earlier. what a zoo! We might get some snow here but the forrecast is pretty iffy so will wait and see what develops. might do a ride if I can get the kitty situation settled.

Hi Deb, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did KCM's Cardio Quick fix, both workouts (45 min.).

Merry Christmas, everyone! We are going out tonight for dinner, and then tomorrow, we are having both a standing rib roast and a ham with a honey and Marsala glaze. DH wasn't sure if the roast would be big enough for 7, when 4 are grown men, so we are doing both. I'm doing the mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, and a spiinach salad. DH does the roast, ham, gravy, and MIL is doing her mushrooms in a sherry cream sauce. An assortment of my cookies with ice cream for dessert and Prosecco at the table. Assorted nuts, cheeses and olives for hors d'oeuvres.

A little bit of snow predicted for late tonight into tomorrow, so we will have a white Christmas.

I will try to get a workout in tomorrow morning before everyone rises.

Won't check in until Wednesday!

Back again! Cathe's newsletter says that she will begin shipping Xtrain on 12/27. Perfectly timed for new year's resolutions, I would say.

I am so bummed! I have xtrain being shipped to my office. I am on vacation this week and do not return until the 2nd. I may have to drive in to grab it!

I ran on treadmill this morning and now about to walk Chester. i may do slide and glide when I come back. Depends on how much time I have.

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!

Lori

All is well. got to see my vet.... disinfected the wound, he held the edges together and STAPLED it while I held Puss. could not believe it, must hurt like crazy, 3 big staples... not a sound and held still like a little sweetheart. animals are so different from people in what they will stand without wimpering. I almost wanted to wimper for him. I don't think he can pull those out and I hope he doesn't try.

Good workout Lori... feel free to indulge in a little extra good stuff.

Merry christmas everyone.

So happy kitty is well. Poor thing to go thru that. My pets are my babies I love them so much. I am a mess if they are in pain.

Good morning all,

We had a nice dinner at my cousin's yesterday, then a relaxing evening at home. I am so tired of food! Back to "normal" today I hope. Although there is still a lot of stuff around that I don't want to keep eating!

Hope everyone is having a nice relaxing "day after"

Going in at 7:00 today, hope to get out a bit early...we are supposed to have some kind of storm later today...

Hope everyone had a great Christmas.

I forgot to report back on my back. I had to ice it for two days and take advil but it was fine. Trainer avoided any moves that would hurt it. I kind of felt it was a waste of two training sessions but it kept me moving and I didn't get hurt.

Did I just say "animals are so different from people"....?? well, he pulled out the staples. not entirely but well on the way. he does his work at night while we're sleeping. back to the vet this morning. he said to leave the staples as they were, and we put a collar on him. boy, this will be tough. should have done this right away, I now say in hindsight. I've had several cats and dogs, and I never had one that wouldn't leave stitches alone.... until now. maybe I've been lucky? he's walking backwards and running into everything. I assume he'll adapt after a few more hours of trial and error. Anyone else needed to put a collar on their pet?

I did cardio supersets on monday. yesterday we did a fast hilly walk at a nearby park for about an hour.

Christmas was fine but between the cat and MIL and her bladder issues it'd been tough to feel like it's a holiday. few phone calls have been happy ones. it's going to be interesting to see if she settles down now that her catheter is out, but she was a real handful for the 48 hrs after her procedure. that wears down family members and makes docs disinclined to recommend more procedures.

Lori, I'm like that too... I feel every pain pets do when they're being treated. all my other little guys cooperated after ward though, and didn't undermine things by shredding the "fix."

Hi Deb, Joan, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did After Burn (54 min.), and yesterday I did double upper body premix on Push-Pull (45 min.).

Valerie, we had to put a collar on Max when he was neutered because he seemed to be irritating the incision with his licking. He was still pretty much a puppy and just sailed around with this ridiculous thing around his neck, totally unaffected in disposition.

We had a wonderful time with our sons and in-laws yesterday. It turned out that the standing rib roast was plenty big for all of us, even with second helpings and now leftovers, so we had a whole ham left over (gave it to our younger son who is off skiing at Sugar Bush) and packed up the mac and cheese as well. I guess he will be feeding his friends pretty well up there. I'm thrilled with my new IPad (my older son works for Apple), but gift cards to Williams-Sonoma, a gorgeous sapphire and diamond pendant from DH and gift cards for pedicures and films at the local theater.

I am so looking forward to this new series. Much as I have enjoyed LIS, I feel the need for something new that CF and TTM just didn't satisfy.

We're expecting a nasty storm of mixed precipitation after midnight. Hope DS and DIL don't have their flights cancelled.

I have had many pets over the years and only one needed the cone. Fortunatley not for long. He was banging into everything and kept looking at me with eyes that were saying "mommy why are you doing this to me"!!!!

Christmas was very nice. My son was thrilled with the James Bond series. We ended up watching "Doctor No". It was great but at the same time kind of humorous as the acting was typical 60's.

Yesterday I did a crazy workout. Still can't believe I actually did it. Started with Athletic training and stopped when I got to the mat/back workout. Then completed STS Plyo Legs #26 (I bought the digital download). Then when I was done with that I picked up again where I left off with Athlectic Training. Had I had a ton of people over for Christmas like years past I would not have been able to do such a long workout. My son left for a few hours so I was able to fit this in.

Today was a 2 mile run on the treadmill and that was it.

Expecting a foot of snow by the morning!

Good morning,

I worked 11 hours yesterday, and will be going in at 7:00 this morning, most likely another long day. I hope we will be done before the weekend, but it doesn't look promising.

Joan, glad to hear your back is better. Did you get hit with the storm?

Valerie, I have had to have the "cone" collar on one of the dogs, ( Kelsey used to rip out stitches too), and actually made one myself for a cockatoo I had that used to pull our her feathers. That was horrible, at first, poor thing with this cone on, in a cage was banging all around. But after a while, she got used to it, and she acted normal etc. Actually had to keep it on until her feathers grew back, or she would pick at herself contantly.

Garance, I got the iPad as well, and am working through the different things to do wih it. What do you like to use it for?

Lori, that sure was a crazy workout, but I bet it was good for lower body.

We got a good deal of snow last night, it was pretty windy too...Garance, Lori...did you get a lot of snow?

SHIPPING STARTS TODAY FOR THE NEW SERIES :D...

Off to get ready...take care..

Puss is not liking this collar ( yes!mommy are you doing this to me??) but he was doing the constant licking and clearly had removed the sutures and was well on the way with the staples. looks much better today although he sure is not happy. getting better at getting around but since cats jump up on things it takes a readjustment in judgement! he's still trying to backn out of it and scraping along the walls.
spit wood yesterday instead of the ski we were planning but I'm glad I did the vet trip instead.
Wow lori that is a long intense set of workouts. no problwm with a light day following that.
Deb, too bad you have such long hours right now. that is brutal when most people are getting off lighter than normal.

we finished watching Lord of the rings last night. I liked the first 2 parts but the last part was endless and tedious. I'm sure we'd seen it before in a different, WAY shorter version. I will not sit thru this version again. I got up and went to read when I could not take any more.

Hi Deb, Joan, Valerie, and Lori--

This morning I did the upper body premix on High Reps (39 min.).

Lori, that is really impressive working out. I love AT, but when I'm done with it, there's no way I would pick up another workout. We have about 6 inches here in western MA. Max loves it, looks like Tigger bouncing in the snow. Maybe tomorrow I will do some snowshoeing.

Deb, that really is cruel and unusual punishment for you. I take it that it's all inventory. So far, I've just been exploring the Ipad. I will probably use it for books and email, research notes and games. I like the idea of taking pictures and skyping, too.

I wonder how soon we will receive our new workouts.

Valerie, if you're a Tolkien fan, the longer the better, followed by conversations about what Jackson changed. Jackson is making three long installments out of The Hobbit, but it sounds like you are either totally into it or hate the length from such a slight story.

I read the books ages ago, and enjoyed the Ring series when we saw it several years ago.... must have rented from netflix. Bought the series thinking it'd be the same. We decided to watch it over 3 nights. the first parts were pretty much what I remembered but the last part was endless battles....on and on and on. It's hard enough keeping all the characters straight, nothing and no one has only one name... ... but the last segment was WAY overlong. DH was watching while I started getting up and doing chores while watching... endless battles. finally when I thought it might finish, another battle field was set up and that was it. I went to bed. just didn't care anymore.

working out later today.
