I'm here, didn't do the planned camping trip. No point in driving 200 miles if the weather will be worse than here. instead did a hike... tough. We have gotten a huge pile of snow in the mts above 4000 feet. almost nothing at 4000, but piled up very quickly above that. Heavy nasty stuff, like walking in semi frozen mashed potatoes. we stupidly left our snowshoes in the car thinking that no snow to speak of at the trailhead meant there wouldn't be much up higher as this is not a real long or steep trail. we got up to the open meadow, snow up to our butts, and had a short but lovely close up view of mts Baker & Shuksan before we could see clouds streaming in. so we hustled down but it was snowing/raining before we got back to the car. 4.5 hours, 5 tough miles. walking in deep heavy snow with a breakable crust is extremely taxing. Feels like the snow surface will hold you but suddenly breaks thru down to your knees. but not always, so every step can be a "surprise".
I did as planned on friday disk 4. Did at least 2x as many toe pushups as disk 1. I don't think my form is perfect but I keep working on them. I'm starting to think they are more effective (than I thought at first) and you're unlikely to injure yourself doing them. I think it's easier to tear something using heavy weights with the lever of your arm length. Instead of the straddle and bootcamp ones I'm sticking to plain 'ol pushups for now.
My sister fell recently and has an acute rotator cuff tear, scheduled for surgery. my brother has unfixable tears in both shoulders. He's had 4-5 surgeries and eventually will need shoulder replacement. so I don't know if we (as a family) have vulnerable anatomy or just are unlucky. but I'm careful about shoulder work.
My friend who had the robotic hysterectomy... she has 4-5 tiny incisions on her abdomen which I guess releases attachments, and parts are removed vaginally. Called the DaVinci procedure. neighbor is having a plain old vaginal procedure. regardless, weeks of very limited activity either way. Hope Hope I won't ever need that.
Lynda, I am going to try that curry. I made vegie enchiladas last night....really good, used some canned MILD enchilada sauce and DH thought it was "too spicy". I was ready to tear our his hair!
We will work on completing our floor today unless the rain clears up. tomorrow is rain for sure.
Found printing on DH's computer gives a better printout of worksheets. bigger print, 2 pages, whereas mine makes the print teensy (and won't adjust) and compressed on 1 sheet. My system used to do the 2 pages but something changed and it won't do it anymore. thought it was friefox, but when I open with explorer it still won't.
Deb I guess I'm an anomaly. I like wall squats. I love how they focus on the thighs. If I move my feet outward more I can get low enough to pick up the weights. sit n stands, not too fond of those. paper plates, I've gotten to do Ok but don't especially like.
