Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 10/3

No workout today. Yesterday I did CDorner Fast Follow Along Step Aerobics Advanced. 50 minutes, 235 calories, heart rate 127/160, 4,046 steps. I also did CDorner Full Body Stretch Daily Mobility and Flexibility, 31 minute4s, 52 calories, heart rate 81/98, 136 steps. Total time was 81 minutes, 287 calories, 4,184 steps.

This morning I did My IMAX, which wasn't what I meant to do, but didn't realize until I was past the warmup. LOL Then I did Live Metabolic Core which is 46 minutes with lots of variations. Alternating standing and floor and moves pretty fast.

Valerie glad you made it home safely.

Diane Sue great job with the Step aerobics and Mobility/Flexibility workouts yesterday.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I did 80 minutes of Peloton rides and today I did a short Peloton Ab & Arms workout before work. Chris and I are going to the gym tonight and I'll probably do a back & triceps workout.

Valerie-Glad you made it home safely. That is a long drive.

Carolyn-I hope you enjoyed your rest day.

Diane Sue-Nice job with the CDorner workouts

Cathy-Great job with IMAX and Live Metabolic Core.

took quiet day yesterday, did get in Stacked sets upper, 50 knee push ups and core 1 from x train. took a nap in the middle of the day. sometimes I cant sleep after the long drive. I sleep for a while but wake up and cant go back to sleep. I was tired! will get mail and shop... seriously ....today. I consider saturday a rest day even though its anything but restful. we had to do some camper adjustments part way thru the drive involving more in/out, up and down, walking, and it helps with not getting so fatigued from sitting for so long. the area is a covid hot spot generally so its nice to stick with the bathroom in our camper and not use rest areas, big gas stations etc. I had to go into a mcdonalds one time for DH's fast food fix, and no one except employees and me wore a mask. please people, this is incredibly stupid. all your ICU's are full of people with the virus, with overflow being transported out of state.

Today I did Strong and Sweaty Boot Camp for 44 minutes and 226 calories burned. My average heart rate was 119 and maximum heart rate was 150. I modified all cardio segments to be low impact.

Diane Sue, I hope that you had a good rest day. Great job with CDorner Step and a stretch on Saturday.

Cathy, great work with your blender IMAX 4 Live Metabolic Core.

Judy, you are really getting in some long Peloton rides. Great job!

Valerie, it does take a while to recover from a long vehicle ride. I’m very impressed that you did Stacked Sets Upper Body +50 knee push ups, and X Train Core 1. Good work.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today I did Step Boss I Max 4 and did so much better according to my Garmin than all of the times I worked so hard to get my heart rate up using the Fitbit. Workout was 48 minutes, 309 calories, heart rate 150/176, 4,674 steps. I used 1 riser each side rather than the two Cathe uses, and I did not do the butt kickers and instead did some box jumps 2 hops and I did not do the Squat thrusters across the bench and instead did a curtsy off the step reaching and tapping step with my hand. I did not want to do anything on my hands. I used to add lots of jumping and used the extra risers and never could get much out of Fitbit. This is the reason I let up doing that workout. I also did CDorner no equipment abs from today, 19 minutes, heart rate 88/110, 42 calories, 125 steps. There was no planks in this one, but I won't do it again as the chat was awful, discussing Kegals and it went on to breaking straws and guys private parts and lots of giggling and laughing. Don't mind the laughter at all and having fun, but not that conversation topic and I would not want to hear it again. The thing is when they mentioned males P..... I thought what if I had children in the room? Sheesh.
I finished with Step Boss Chair Stretch, 16 minutes, heart rate 77/88, 25 calories. Total time spent was 83 minutes, 376 calories, 4,799 steps.

This morning I did Live 30 Minute Kickbox and then P30 Lower Body, the blend I created that only has one set of deadlifts and the floor work. Then I went to walk at the zoo and visit my parents.

Valerie I seemed okay when I got to my sisters, but that may have just been adrenaline from being in a new place. After I got back, about a day later, I hit a wall energy wise. Great job getting in stacked upper body, pushups and core. A good many of the fast food places around here still aren't open inside because they don't have enough staff and that's fine with me and most places it's sped up the drive thru times because they only have to make food that and not the counter, too.

Carolyn great job with the Boot Camp workout!

Judy great job with the Peloton workouts! How do you ride that long without getting bored. Bike, treadmill or elliptical my attention span is just not good.

Diane Sue great job with IMAX 4 and the ab workout. Too bad that you had to deal with the chat on the ab one.

I was surprised I had any energy this morning. I had such bad acid reflux last night and I thought it could be from the Himalaya (sp) brand cough lozenges that I bought, but then as I thought about the day, not only did I eat 3 of those yesterday when we went to Lowes and Applebees, trying not to cough with these crazy allergies, but I also got a mexican spicy dish with rice for lunch/dinner(we always go mid afternoon to avoid lots of people), also I had had a sandwich with Ezekial bread and Primal Kitchen chipotle mayo, so no wonder I was so miserable. I fell asleep for a few minutes and woke up and took an antacid, which I do not think is good with hydroxychloraquine, and then I took a Health By Habit sleep, piled my pillows up to create an incline rather than lie flat and finally fell asleep sometime this morning. Needless to say, I have been careful today of what I ate and drank alkaline water. I have been having this happen more lately and I wonder if I need to go back to drinking greens drinks like I did years ago when I finally quit taking Nexium. The cough drops I mentioned have ginger and pepper in them. They did help the itchy throat and coughing, but not sure I will use them often. They have other flavors, this had orange and clove in it also.

Valerie, I am glad you made it back okay. Nice that you got in stacked sets. I always feel like I need a rest day when we come home from being away. Besides when you come back there is always the putting things up, laundry, and like you mentioned, getting groceries and stuff. It is nice having your own bathroom in a camper when traveling. We used to stop and eat in the fifth wheel, even if we picked up take out food. My husband love McDonalds. The one in town here is so busy all day long. I went there to pick up something for my husband when he texted me, 3 in the afternoon and there was two lines around the building of cars. Not worth it to me. The workers always wear masks. You can't understand half what they say through those speakers. I never could understand the draw to McDonalds. They quit having salads which were often lousy so I just wait and eat something at home.

Carolyn, nice work on Strong and Sweaty Bootcamp today. CDorner has some cardio workouts this week that look like they will be good. Mondays are usually upper body and even if she says arms, it is all upper body parts. I am avoiding picking up dumbbells for the most part right now till I get to the arthritis doctor. My arm hurts all the way down to my thumb and particularly around the elbow and up to the shoulder. It feels better after I get moving and then as soon as I lay down or try driving it starts hurting. Also typing. I never realize how many muscle I use typing till they are hurting like this. I enjoyed I Max 4 today even though I did modify some moves. McDonalds is not faster with the inside closed, when it was closed the drive up was even more busy.

Cathy, that looks like a nice way to spend your day. I am sure by the time you got home you were tired though.

This morning I did Cardio Slam, which was 49 minutes and 322 calories burned. My average heart rate was 128 and maximum heart rate was 152.

Diane Sue, nice job with IMAX 4 and CDORNER Abs. I modify the butt kicks too. There are a couple of moves in that workout that I don’t care for. I am surprised that the conversation during the CDORNER workout was so inappropriate, but if it is live she can’t really control that.

Cathy, great job with Live 30 Minute Kickboxing and P30 Lower Body.

Hello to Judy and Valerie.

will do something later today, did most of shopping yesterday. the cupboard was bare after 3 weeks.
I dont like anything from mcdonalds and its off my basic diet anyway. when we return from MT, DH has an egg mcmuffin and hashbrowns. I get a black coffee. I stick with my half apple/ PB. a truck camper is absolutely not OK for drive thru. way too tall! I run in and get his order while he fills up diesel. so efficient now... you are inside for less than 5 minutes, from ordering to walking out. I would use drive thru but we don't "fit". important not to forget how tall the vehicle is. I have saved us from disaster several times! easy to forget how tall you are.

we know how fortunate we are to have a second house. its really nice to be able to cook and do laundry both places so you dont arrive in either place with a yard long list of things to do, if you plan well.

people forget they are in the public sphere and can say inappropriate things. a private conversation between adults is different.

This morning I did Live Crush It Low Impact. Good workout and moves pretty fast. Not much of a break between a lot of the moves. I think she had extra coffee that morning! LOL

Had my annual eye appointment this morning and finally got to order new reading glasses. My prescription ones broke quite awhile back and couldn't be fixed and so I bought a cheap pair of readers at the store. Looking forward to having prescription ones again.

Diane Sue sorry you're had such a bad night with the reflux, I hope tonight it way better for you.

There are very few places we get fast food away from home. Being vegan means that at best there's usually French fries, Taco Bell has more options, but that gets old fast, and while I sometimes do Subway, it means sitting to eat where as other things I can eat and drive. I generally take food for when I'm on the road if I can. And if I end up super hungry and need something I generally just get hash browns or fries in UP cause between Gaylord (northern lower peninsula) and Marquette, that's about all that's available for fast food. I go past one McDonald's and one Hardee's in that four hour span. Anything else is a restaurant where you can't get something fast.

Carolyn great job with Cardio Slam!

I did a pedal power spin premix for 40 min and push-ups curls dips and tricep push-ups. Judy I always wonder how you can do such long rides. I am done by. 40 min of Cathe I’m going to try to get up to an hour this year. Cathe is pretty intense as usual.
Wow , Cathy vegan is limiting when it comes to fast food. I don’t like fries or hash browns either . I was vegetarian for a long time and eating out was hard. Vegan is a whole different level. I eat chicken now so that opens up some things but not my choice. usually I’d rather have peanut butter or a salad. I usually bring something with me rather than struggle with fast Food.

Today I did CDorner 30 minute Low Impact Cardio Walking Workout(no jumping) 33 minutes, heart rate 137/177, 185 calories, 3,944 steps. I liked this one and the music was pretty good. I then did Cathe's Boss Loops Glutes and Core doing only the standing work and part of the stretch, 24 minutes, wore my medium loop, heart rate 125/159, 125 calories, 1,124 steps. I finished with CDorner Mobility Hiit, 32 minutes, heart rate 85/109, 63 calories, 376 steps. This was from today and I liked it. Not too much on the hands and knees stuff. The only thing I had problem with was the lunge segment where she rotates her arm back and the forward. That hurt my right shoulder so I just lifted up, but not back. I think those workouts that have you do the scorpion with your arm way back behind lying on it is a real problem. I did some of that on Cathe mobility and Chris and really hurt afterward, so no more of that for me. At least till I find out what is going on. Total time today was 89 minutes, 373 calories, 5,441 steps.

Carolyn, CDorner did not have to comments back as she reads the comments and could have changed the subject or have just did one of her laughs for that person and not replied. She brought up the Kegals and repeated some of it that she had got from Mindy Mylrea. Then a breaking a straw comment and it went on to jokes she was reading and the mention of men and it kept going. She was the only one people that are watching could here. No guests working out directly with her. I still can't figure out how she chatters, reads posts on the computer screen and keeps going on the workouts. That one was abs though, so she was on the floor.
I always thought some of the moves in I Max 4 were kind of rough on joints and not quite low impact. What I did for substitutes worked well though. Nice work on Cardio Slam.

Valerie, I used to stop at McDonalds or Sonic when we had to leave so early for taking the older children to school and I would get a egg biscuit and he would eat the biscuit and I ate the egg. I would rather eat a poached egg or something at home though. We would stop so I could feed him and go to a big super Target that was in the vicinity of one of the schools before we would go back to my house.
I am going to have to go to Walmart tomorrow, as much as I do not want to. I need to get up earlier in the morning. I am out of berries, yogurt, and Ezekial bread and I need to get low carb tortillas and protein bars for my husband's lunches. Some things I cant get from Whole Foods so I have to go to Walmart. It is nice that you have everything at both houses so you don't have to do a bunch of laundry and clean up.

Cathy, nice work with the Live Low Impact Crush workout. I think next time I get an eye exam that I will get some readers at the eye place. I keep ordering from Amazon and I never feel they are all that clear when looking through them. My eye doctor suggested readers with bifocals. So, I am changing eye places so I don't have the long drive and will see what they say. My husband got his today and went to progressive lenses. Not sure that he likes them all that much. I am not a real fan of french fries and greasy potatoes. We go to Billy Sims Barbecue a lot and I get a huge baked potato. It is always hard to eat the whole thing they are so big.

Today I did an hour of Peloton rides, a 15 minute arm workout and an hour of Yin Yoga tonight.

Cathy-Great job with Live Crush It Low Impact. That one sounds good. I've always liked indoor cardio. Before Peloton I was doing Spinervals and Cathe's spin workouts. Having something to watch and/or a workout to follow keeps me from getting bored.

Carolyn-Great job with Cardio Slam! That's another one I need to do again.

Valerie-Nice job with Pedal Power. I really like that one. Cathe's spin workouts are tough.

Diane Sue-I'm sorry about the reflux. I hope you feel better. Nice workouts today!

Judy you are 100% right on needing something to watch. If I do a cathe workout thats covered. If I do something else, elliptical/ treadmill, I need to watch something. I personally think it's why so many people fail at exercise long term. just doing the exercise at first is enough, there is that excitement of going to a gym and all the business of other people, but as you get more efficient at it, your brain needs to be occupied. bored and exercise feels endless. I think its why outdoor things work better for me. the scenery changes, hiking or riding... the time flies by. I cant do complicated plots. short attention span things work. I used to watch music videos, political talking head shows, other talk shows, even the news. indoors.... I don't usually last past an hour. I'm going to work at getting up to an hour with spin.

judy what do you include in a 15 min arm workout.

I have a huge problem with depth perception with glasses. I've never been able to wear them. I can use them sitting still watching TV but walking around is not good. its the same sensation you get when you try to walk with readers on. I've worn contacts my whole life because they don't cause the problem. I don't have a strong correction and its gotten less as I got older. my close vision is good, distance needs help.

Valerie-the 15 minute arm workout I did yesterday was mostly triceps using dumbbells and the new fabric bands. I also did some bicep curls and side raises. We must have similar vision. My correction has gotten less over the years. I used to wear glasses or contacts most of the time but the last few years I've only worn glasses for driving. I will continue to do that but I don't feel like I really need them. I never wear them at work or for anything else.

This morning I did Perfect Pump Upper Body for 39 minutes and 159 calories burned. My average heart rate was 114 and maximum heart rate was 141.

Valerie, great job with Pedal Power 40 minute spinning. I never eat fast food. I am not vegetarian, but food like that does not taste good to me. I’ve never eaten fries much, so I don’t even get those. When we travel by car I pack snacks and sandwiches to avoid getting too hungry. I love food, but I want well prepared good food!

Cathy, nice work with Live Crush It Low Impact. An eye appointment is next on my list of appointments. I have worn glasses since I was eight, so only prescription glasses for me.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Low Impact Cardio Walking, Boos Bands Glutes and Core standing, and CDorner mobility HiiT. I’m curious about how the mobility workout is also HiiT.

Judy, great workout day with the Peloton ride, arm workout, and Yin Yoga.

Enjoy the day everyone.

I didn’t work out today. I needed to go to Kroger’s and Costco and wanted an early start. It’s been raining all week and there was a brief lull before it started again this afternoon. I made it home just in time. Have a nice day everyone.
