Good morning,

Only PT exercises yesterday. I did go to agility class with Kylee.

Valerie, that makes sense on the burn places. Learn something new every day. Glad your niece and her DH got to your place eventually. They must have been exhausted. Where did they come from originally? We subscribed to CL many years ago. We found that we were hardly looking at it anymore so cancelled the subscription. I would think that magazines that promote clean eating would not have recipes that contain processed ingredients.

Diane Sue, I hope the roofer follows through and fixes the job. I remember Muscle & Fitness Hers. I used to subscribe to it and was sad when it stopped being made.

Hi to Carolyn, Judy, & Lori

Take care,

Today is my rest day, so no workout to report. I tried my new knee pillow which is thicker than I expected. It does allow me to sleep on my side again because of the support for the upper leg. I could have used it when I first hurt my knee because I needed more elevation and support then.

I have canceled most of my magazine subscriptions since I hardly ever read them. I love to browse the physical magazines, but they are much smaller. Most of the content is online these days which is a different experience for me. Not as enjoyable.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful day.

Today was my rest day and family chili lunch. I made a regular chili with beans and a Paleo Instant Pot recipe. We worked on our front planter this evening and went and got a few bags of lava rock to put in the planter. We need way more, but didn't want the ground cover to come up. We were not able to use my grandson's truck this evening as he had to go to work. It will have to wait or a few bags at a time. 10 bags was just a small amount compared to what was needed.
I saw Kelly has put up her new weight vest cardio workout. Actually she put up two. Her first attempt and then a second one. I will try to get that in tomorrow. I need to get done early as I will be expecting a roofer and our insurance agent is supposed to call and talk to me, maybe give some advice. I really am at odds as to what to do until we see what these people are going to do.

Deb, I think the started making Muscle and Fitness Hers again, as I have checked them out from the library digitally. I liked them better than the Oxygen Magazine which I used to get a lot too.

Carolyn, I just read the magazines online. Or browse would be a better word for it. I read a few of the articles that peaks my interest. It is rather a waste for me to purchase them. I am not a real fan of reading things digitally. Often when I really, want to read something that is on my tablet or computer as an article, I will print it and read it. Otherwise I am apt to scroll through and read the highlights.

Good morning,

Nothing new here on the exercise front. Only PT exercises for me.

Carolyn, it sounds like you had some positive results from the pillow? I feel the same about magazines today. They are mostly ads, and although I would prefer holding a paper magazine, I have cancelled most. I have a subscription to "Real Simple", because I wanted to support my friend's granddaughter's school fund raising effort. I like that magazine a lot.

Diane Sue, I hope you get some satisfaction from the roofer, and also some ideas from your insurance agent on what options you have going forward. I didn;t like Oxygen as much as M&F Hers either

Hi to Judy, Valerie, & Lori

Take care,

This morning I did Cardio Core Circuit, 4 of 5 circuits, for 43 minutes and 299 calories burned. My average heart rate was 128 and maximum heart rate was 156. After that I did JS Total Stretch from her new dvd for 18 minutes. Cardio Core Circuit is always a tough workout because it is largely high impact, but I modify the cardio to meet my needs. The stretch is a nice total body stretch.

Deb, good job continuing with the PT exercises. I’m sure that they are worth it even when you don’t see immediate benefit. The pillow does provide some relief, but I don’t really need it now.

Diane Sue, the situation with your roof is very frustrating. I hope that you can get the issue resolved soon. This is great weather for chili and soups.

Hello to Lori, Judy, and Valerie.

Deb, I have ordered magazines to support fundraisers for the children. They keep changing the way they do fund raisers. I ended up going to an online fundraiser with a password to purchase for my 4 year old grandson. This time I purchased flower bulbs. I put them in my pots and per instructions planted them as a fall planting. I thought the were not supposed to come up till early spring or a little before and they are coming up now :O I try to avoid the candy bars and desserts and that sort of thing if I can. The insurance agent came out, but didn't have a ladder to get up on the roof. We have used him almost from the first of moving to Oklahoma. He was my daughter's next door neighbor and friend for years. He looked at the room and where it was coming in. It will really depend on if the leak is from natural wear or storm damage. He said if they don't get a roofer out call him and he will get us one out. I am hoping they do and we get some break for what we have already put in. It all depends on what they say.

Carolyn, I am getting a good selection of frozen bowls of soup to thaw and eat later. I am at the point now I need to go buy some more glass bowls with lids :) I like Cardio Core Circuit, but if I remember right I prefer doing a shorter premix. It does have a lot of high impact in it.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Cardio Overload workout #1 35 minutes, heart rate average 118, max 153, 2,304 steps, met 5.9, 220 calories,2,304 steps, my vest was at 17# :O (my mistake as I did not realize the vest itself weighed 12# and the weight packets are 1# each in the Altus weight best like Cathe's) It was tough!! So I took out some weight thinking I was taking out 2.5# and it was only 1# for workout #2, 16# vest, 33 minutes, met 5.9, 216 calories, heart rate average 123, max 147, 2,458 steps. Total time was 68 minutes, 436 calories, 4,762 steps.
The workout was tough with that much weight. I think I will be good at planks and push ups after the work at the end of workout #1 with the vest on. Anything after that should be easy :) I liked the workouts and will do them them next time without the weight packs in the vest. It would probably stay in place better. I had looped my yoga strap through it and tied it around my waist to help keep it from sliding around. Kelly's does not seem to slide at all.

Good evening ladies,

Saturday was Cathe’s most recent Live Lower Body-Upper Body Challenge. I liked it and wow it was long. been a while since I have done a 63 min live workout. Sunday, I did a Leah Sarago Iron Barre Lower workout. My legs are feeling this one. She uses heavy weights with Barre moves. I also did a 30 min LEKfit Bounce. This morning was Fit Split Pull and tonight was a double time workout.

Valerie...I felt so bad for your guests with all their travel issues. I have been there and it really stinks. Glad they finally made it. Enjoy your time!

Deb...I bet you are loving your room being put back somewhat together. When are the rugs coming? When is the new pup coming? This week?

Diane Sue...so aggravating to have it still leaking. Hopefully they made you a priority. Wow that must have been really hard with the vest weight. Good thinking to tie it more to your waist. I decided not to do that workout with the vest I have. I have two 5lb ankle weights I used to strap to my waist years ago. Maybe I will try this. I subscribe to a couple of magazines thru my Kindle app on my Ipad.

Carolyn...good for you with that workout. Modifications or not..it is a tough one! I agree cardio makes sense it would be more of a calorie burner then strength.

Hi to Judy!!

Good morning,

Nothing much new here. We are picking IKE up today. :) Will post pics later.

Carolyn, that is great that you can modify that cardio workout. I don't remember it. Is it Cathe?

Diane Sue, I hope they find a roofer that can get down to the bottom of what is happening. I would be livid at this point. What is the opinion of the people that did the work originally? Do you freeze things in glass?

Lori, nice workouts? Are you still doing the ones with your son's GF? New pup today, rugs maybe Friday. I really wish we had delayed one or the other. I am getting nervous about a puppy on these floors now.

Hi to Judy & Valerie,

Take care

Good morning. We still have niece and DH for today and tomorrow. We have lucked out with lovely weather and loads of animals. Pronghorns and bighorns and mountain goats elk bison deer . Hunting season started the last weekend so we are mostly sticking to the park but loads of elk and deer everywhere. We did the hike up Bunsen peak yesterday goes to 8600 feet and it was easy even carrying a pack. We saw a mountain goat family high up and close. I did not realize it but my iphone tracks steps and elevation gain. It was in my pack so not accurate but I didn’t realize it did that, even tho it is inaccurate when in my pack. both their devices had over 15,000 steps, and my phone was 10,000 and I was leading the group so not correct. Both niece and DH have apple watches. the hike was over 15000 steps feet plus elevation . we walked thru some extra scenic features. She is six months along and still active but has gained. We have done other hikes but that was the hardest. There is patchy snow and ice so probably as high as we can go this year

We will go back today and look at geyser basins and more tourist stuff. I will have to get back and read posts. I am still busy with KP duty. They eat a lot.

I really have to hurry. I have grandchildren coming over in awhile and need to hit the store and wanted to get the dog a bath. I got texts last night about watching them. I am picking them up Friday too and I have grandparents at another grandchild's school. I am going with his other grandmother and we are taking him to lunch. I will have to push it to get back to go pick up the others. Things are getting hectic and I guess I am going to have to call that roofing guy :( Chance of rain tomorrow and Thursday ...... I will check back later.

This morning I did Kelly Coffey Step Boxing Both combined mix, 50 minutes, 325 calories, met 5.9, heart rate average 130, max 161, 4,624 steps. I then did Fit Split Push day weights only mix, 37 minutes, heart rate average 103, max 146, met 4.6, 188 calories, 883 steps. Total time was 87 minutes, 513 calories.

This morning I did Upper Body Trisets from the Low Impact Series which was 66 minutes and 261 calories burned. My average heart rate was 105 and maximum heart rate was 152.

Lori, great job with your workouts! Leah Sarago looks tough. Have you done her workouts before?

Deb, how exciting for you to be getting your puppy today. Cardio Core Circuit is from Cathe’s Shock Cardio workouts the she released after STS.

Valerie, your visit with your niece sounds amazing with all of the wildlife that you are seeing. I’m glad that the weather is cooperating.

Diane Sue, great job with Step Boxing and Fit Split Push Day. You have a very busy day ahead. Enjoy the time with your grandkids.

Hello to Judy.

Hi Everyone,

Sunday and Monday I did indoor rides and this morning I did Slow & Heavy, Triceps, Biceps & Legs. I haven't done Slow & Heavy in a long time and I really enjoyed it. Due to my right hip and low back issues I think I'm going to postpone doing RWH/XTrain until next year. I loved doing the XTrain rotation but I think I overdid some of the higher impact workouts and I need a break from that. I'm still using the leg pillow and it does seem to help my hip.

Deb- I can't wait to see photos of Ike!

Valerie-That sounds like a challenging hike!

Diane Sue-Awesome job with the KCM workouts!

Carolyn-Cardio Core Circuit is a tough one! I've only done that a couple of times. I have to modify it too.

Lori-Nice job on the workouts! The Leah Sarago Iron Barre sounds like a good one. I'm going to have to look that up.

Have a great day!

Judy

Another day and nothing from the guy that did the roof work. I left a message since he did not answer. My daughter came to pick up the children and we took them to the park. Today was a full day and I managed the store, but not a bath for Gertie. I guess maybe tomorrow. While I was at the park my son in law and my other daughter were calling wanting me to be back up for picking up my 7 year old grandson. He was detained on a case and my daughter had patients. It ended up she got done early enough to go get him. I would have been scrambling at traffic time to get him at 5:30. It may be the same tomorrow.

Lori, you are getting in some really good workouts. I am going to do Fit Split Pull, but maybe on Saturday. I want to so the Fit Split lower body workout with the Boxing Bootcamp either tomorrow or Thursday. Using that heavy of vest made my knee hurt last night. I sort of thought about trying the ankle weights for the for the strength overload workout since her vest had the weight lower. What worked the best on the Cathe vest was to take my yoga strap and I looped it over that velcro fastener in front and crossed it, then wrapped it around my waist and tied it in back. It kept it from moving all the way up to my neck and slipping. Still, it was not so comfortable and probably would be better without the weights and at 12# :) I use my Kindle app a lot. I also found that I can get some free books for the grandchildren to read on my app. Olivia, my 10 year old read one I had got form the 7 year old and she decided to review it as an awful book LOL She reads loads of books. One that will disappear and you will find her reading a book or an article in a magazine.

Deb, I am still trying to get this sorted out on the roof. As far as sealing it, we had the painters recaulk and seal all around it. It seemed to work for about a year. I don't get it though, because it seems to be coming from under the eave of the house and down the walls. Not from the glass. That is why we were pretty sure it had to be coming from somewhere that there is shingles. The first roofer could not seem to locate anything looking like a problem and said to call the builders that do sun rooms, screened rooms, and carports. That sort of thing. They came out and said certain things needed fixed and they supposedly fixed it and expected us to not have a leak?? It is still doing the same thing.
I can't wait to see pictures of Ike and hear puppy stories. Training ought to be fun :) I am sure you will figure out the puppy training and what to do with the floors.

Valerie, that is interesting about the differences in step. It was funny last night, because I stopped and told my husband I had one more step and I would hit 10,000. He was teasing and saying don't do it. I took three steps and nothing happened, so I took some more, nothing. He said I was not swinging my arms with the walk because I was holding my arm up to look at the watch :O Sure enough, I put my arm down and walked swinging my arms to the side and I got steps. Now, I know why I don't get enough steps and it feels like I should. I need to swing my arms. Ha! That sounds like quite a bit of activity for someone that is pregnant. I guess she would eat quite a bit if she is that active and expecting. Nice that there is a lot of wildlife activity for viewing.

Carolyn, nice work today. Again, I think that seems like so few calories for the work and time you put in.

Judy, I wonder what it is with the right hip and low back. That is my area that will hurt. I think it is that side for Deb as well with her bursitis. Mine comes and goes though. I just have to know when to back off. RWH and X train would have a lot of Impact unless you just used the low impact stuff and maybe the weights only mixes. You would have to make up your own rotation for it.

Good evening ladies,

This morning I did only health bouncing for about 35 mins. I put my ear buds in and listened to music while bouncing to a couple of Bellicon workouts. These was nice and relaxing yet still got things flowing. Body felt like it needed an easy workout so I obliged!

Deb...can’t wait to see Ike. So sweet! Don’t look back and second guess yourself. It is always a good time for a new puppy!!!!! :) yes Chelise and I are still working out together and enjoying it. The double time workouts are really short so I bring some bands over so we can do 15 to 20 mins of strength afterwards. This brings the workouts to 35 to 40 mins.

Valerie...sounds like an awesome hike with your neice. And the weather being great helps. I always use my steps as a guide. Lol on KP duty!! Too funny!!!!

Carolyn...I have done some of Leah’s workouts and purchase a few of her downloads and DVDs a few years back when I first started with Barre. She was really hard! She started with Iron Barre a year or so ago but never continued. I bought one of her downloads back then and this was the workout I did recently. She has recently started a streaming site which reminded me that I have some of her workouts. They are hard, but after all the barre I have done the past few years her workouts seem doable now to me! Nice. She offers a 2 week trial so I may check it out.

Judy...smart to wait on that rotation. I have yet to do a Slow and Heavy workout.

Diane Sue...thanks on the workouts. I really enjoyed most of the Fit Split workouts. Going to try and do a few of them the next couple of weeks. Push and Pull were favorites of mine. Lol on your grandaughters book review! Your roof issues are terrible. Hoping this gets resolved for you soon. What a nightmare. It amazes me with all the running around with your grandchildren you still get great workouts in!

Have a great night all!

No formal hike today but again > 15,500 steps today. I had the phone with me most of the time, but clearly it does not register if its sitting in my pack, but does if its in a pocket. did a bunch of tourist things like old faithful. so tired, I'm crashing in 2 minutes.

This morning I did Coffey Fit Raw Kettlebell and Kickbox, 31 minutes, average heart rate 121, max 158, met 5.8, 198 calories, 1,762 steps. I then did Fit SPlit Boxing Boot camp premix timesaver kick box only, 35 minutes, average heart rate 130, max 158, 3,113 steps, met 5.9, 228 calories. I finished off with a You Tube Yoga with Sarah Beth energizing morning yoga, 16 minutes, met 2.0, 35 calories. Total time was 82 minutes, 461 calories. 4,875 steps. My husband said he is getting his flu shot at work today so I may try to find the time to get out to my doctors office and get one myself. I was waiting on him. The lady over childcare that is one of the school teachers at my churches school has the flu. Also my grandson had a friend at his school that has it. I am not taking chances. It seems to be going around early.

Lori, nice work today I was thinking about you and the bouncing workouts this morning when I was thinking I need to do some other variety of workouts soon. I have been doing a lot of boxing and step lately.

My workout this morning was Cardio Slam timesaver premix with no mat cardio. It was 34 minutes and 252 calories burned. My average heart rate was 130 and maximum heart rate was 151.

Judy, Slow and Heavy Biceps and Triceps is one that I felt for a couple of days afterwards. It’s a great workout. I even did the barbell curls. The RWH/X Train rotation is nicely balanced so that it’s not too much. I did that one last year.

Diane Sue, a friend told me about arm movement and the Fitbit steps when I was in the grocery store one day. When you push the cart with both hands it doesn’t record the steps which is annoying. I got my flu shot last month. The flu has been going strong here for several weeks and I didn’t want to take a chance. Nice job with Raw Kettlebell and Kickbox, Fit Split Boxing Bootcamp, and Sarah Beth yoga.

Lori, it was wise to listen to your body and do a lighter workout yesterday. I still feel like a barre novice so I’m careful about the workouts that I try.

Hello to Deb and Valerie.

A roofer is supposed to be coming by this afternoon. Hopefully soon as I may have to pick up my grandson.

Carolyn, now I am trying to pay attention to moving my arms around more while walking and moving. II did some extra arm swinging with leg movements during Boxing Bootcamp today. I noticed a couple of the women moved their arms instead of holding them at the ready as they did leg movements. It is very annoying that walking a large store like Walmart and the steps do not all get counted because of holding on to a cart !

Good evening ladies,

This morning was Linda Woolridge's recent Standing Core workout. I bought the download and loved it. Was harder than I thought it would be. Her prices for dowloads are so cheap. US cost works out to under $3.00. Well worth it. I used 3lb handweights and I was feeling it not only in my core but upper body too. Below is the link of the preview. It is a great workout for standing abs should you want to mix things up. Tonight was a Double Time workout with Chelsie..we finished it off with a bis and tris workout.

Valerie...15,500 steps!! Nice!!!

Diane Sue...I did not get a flu shot last year. May not again this year. My husband always gets one amd was not happy that I passed last year. I bounce pretty much every day. I love it. Can’t imagine I will ever get bored with it and that is saying something coming from me. I love the variety of the workouts I have...health bounce to low impact to crazy high intense.

Carolyn...now that I have tried Leah again and feel she is doable...I am going to try out the Dream Body workouts. This was another series I bought when I first started Barre ...omg I could not do these. I felt they were way too fast paced. Looking forward to see what I think of them now. That is crazy it does not count your steps!! I would be annoyed too.

I am looking forward to the new Ice workouts. I know I will love the all band workout. So happy about this one!
