Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 1/6

It is so funny that you guys mentioned Brenda! One of the reasons I love Cathe workouts so much is that everyone is NOT a perfect body. Jai & amanda maybe! muscular, fit, and in shape, but not perfect. yes, there are similarities between me and Brenda in the calf area. we don't have ankles, and the rest of her is proportionately much slimmer than her calves. She's trimmed somewhat since the older workouts but the calves don't change as much as other body parts do. I have mostly made my peace with it but it's amazing how cruel and thoughtless people can be about things like that. but honestly, it drew me to these workouts because real, imperfect people are stars here.

Lori that's a wonderful thoughtful gift you got... obviously your co workers know you pretty well! Now I understand why you tend to concentrate on the lower body workouts... yes, when I gain it used to go to my legs, but not so much now. now it seems to go to my middle. if I can lose this 10 lbs, it will be interesting to see where it comes off.

Deb how fun to spend 4 hours with a friend.. I was trying to touch base with one of my friends who's in AZ right now, but didn't connect yet.
I signed up for MFP but don't see how it works. I tried entering breakfast ... oatmeal. I use 1/2 cup before it's cooked and could not get it to enter... then I had shephards pie for dinner and could not find anything close in there.... it's a vegetarian version. I do almost all "scratch cooking" and I can't possibly enter every recipe in there to get a count. so now I'm thinking more about weight watchers or maybe just doubling down on my efforts myself.

Lynda, I've had good luck with LLBean jeans. they fit well, aren't expensive, and aren't low rise which does NOT work for me. but I'll take a look at that site. I'm trying to hold off on new jeans because if I lose even 5 more I will probably change sizes downward.
haaa... cats are NOT grateful....but he's acting more like himself now, leaping up and down and running around. crazy little guy.

I shouldn't make such a big deal about the legs. but I work hard and it's aggravating that that part won't change. and I know I'm lucky that they may be big... but they have carried me up and down more roads and mountains than most people ever dream of climbing. it just always annoyed me that family tended to be the worst, most vocal critics and no one ( mother or father) ever defended us or at least told them to MYOB.

I did most of burn sets... chest, shoulders yesterday. DH got off work earlier so I didn't quite finish. I like that one a lot. like the faster pace and following weights with another exercise like push ups feels effective to me.

Josie, report back as soon as you try your bike!.

Hi ladies!

Loved the All Out HIIT. Thought it was a great workout and felt really great after. Never walked chester :( as it is rainy here today. Did run on my treadmill for 2 miles though. Once I showered and changed had to wake my son up so we could go to home depot for the sand for heavy bag! Really wanted to try it out. When my husband came home from work we all tried it out and I'll have to say we loved it. Even my husband is planning to use it.

I do work with a great group. Everyone knows I have Cathe issues. It is very comical.

Valerie...that is exactly why I need to work my legs harder than anything else. If I do not work them they lose their shape rather quickly. I find running helps keep them lean too and I always fit the treadmill in over the weekend. I have heard good things about Not Your Daughters Jeans. Couple of the girls I work with swear by them. They are not cheap. About $100 a pair I think but I am told worth every penny!

Josie enjoy your bike! I can't wait to hear all about it.

Have a great night!

Lori
