Cathlete
good morning. forgetting if I reported doing Rock/Sock yesterday along with abs. I liek that one except for the flying angel jumps that I modify. the cathe crew look like those a a bit of a struggle too so I dont feel bad about it.

How are your states doing on vaccines? I am not sure if its worth trying to scramble for slots right now. lots more places will have vaccine, when they have it. so far lots of places but out of vaccine in a short time period. its been a year. I dont mind waiting another couple weeks as long as I can get it done. I don't want to have the deadline of a second shot hanging over my head.

Good morning. Today I did WS3 One Mile of Motivation for 15 minutes and 114 calories burned. My average heart rate was 133 and maximum heart rate was 148. Then I did Jessica Smith’s Gentle Yoga, Total Body flow. That was 21 minutes and an additional 55 calories.

Valerie, thanks for starting us off today. Rock’m Sock’m is a good workout that’s not totally exhausting. I modify the flying angel jacks in all of Cathe’s workouts. The vaccine situation is not good here in Georgia, but I have decided to be patient and wait for more availability.

Cathy, great job with finishing STS Meso 1. That’s interesting that you did the personal shopping for a while. I can understand how it could be stressful, especially doing multiple orders. I see some shoppers in the store that are very meticulous about choosing produce for customers. As with anything, I’m sure that it varies.

Hello to Deb, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Hi Everyone,

Today I did 45 minutes of Peloton rides before work. I only had a 4 hour shift so it was a short day.

Valerie-Nice job with Rock'm Sock'm. That's one of my favorites. I agree about the flying angel jacks.
Michigan doesn't seem to be doing very well with the vaccines. Our doctor thought that Chris and I would be able to get vaccines by March but I will be shocked if it's that soon.

Carolyn-Nice job with the Jessica Smith workouts today. It sounds like Georgia and Michigan are in the same place with vaccines.

Cathy-Great job finishing STS Meso 1! Being a personal shopper would be stressful.

Hi to Deb & Diane Sue,

Washington is in the same spot...... everyone is afraid to schedule anything because no one knows how many vaccines will arrive and where, exactly, they will go. lots of places set up to give injections now, but no vaccine to be found. I am hoping for early Feb because then the second shot will be by the end of the month. we are hoping to travel in march. we are also getting a big yard project done but that's weather dependent so a lot of "ifs" happening. will do what it takes!.

After doing all the shopping for my sister, I think I could do a good job at being a personal shopper. I learned to tell what she liked versus what I like. one store I use has a lot of "shoppers" roaming the aisles checking off lists.

I think I never got here to post yesterday. I did Coffey Fit Raw Get Up and Move for extra fun warm up and Intervals #5 repeating some of it because I forgot to start the Fitbit back up when I paused after Get Up and Move so I figured out the calories for the extra 11 minutes and added them on, 44 minutes, 183 calories, 2436 steps. I then did Kelly's Body Fit dvd premix quick fix legs, 16 minutes(includes a warm up and stretch), 54 calories, 99/133 heart rate, 1,168 steps. Total time was 60 minutes, 237 calories, 3,104 steps. I had a house showing yesterday and today and also had to spend time troubleshooting my Anti virus and getting together a Whole Foods order. I am really liking their wild sockeye salmon. I got some this morning and tonight I cooked some after the house showing. I am sure it would not be a selling point. I have to pull school stuff back out and set up computers and tablets and get lessons together tonight.

Valerie, I know several of the ladies in my game day group have gotten the vaccine. My daughter called to see if my husband wanted it, but as usual he declined. Her and her husband got it because she is in the medical field and her husband is law enforcement. She said I don't need one since I had the virus which is fine with me. It seems here they are mostly giving to elderly and certain people in the work force. I wish they would give it to the teachers and open up the schools. These children are not going to know how to behave in a classroom setting anymore, along with all of this media they are looking at all day while sitting at home. I can see these teachers, at least here, are not liking it. They have to teach from the classroom, but do it online. No sitting on their backsides. Just fed up right now! Sorry, probably more than you wanted to hear from me.
Whole foods has my shopping down pretty much. They even had most of my desired subs for things I buy checked off for me and some that I do not want to sub, like cashew yogurt checked do not sub. That makes it a bit quicker. The shoppers for people are annoying in Walmart as they use big carts and are running around with their electronic devices checking off things while they look. They get in the way because there are so many of them.
Those flying angel jacks hurt when I come down for a landing. If I do any jumps it is more just a straight up jump or jumping jacks. Knees are not meant to fly out and come down for a landing.

Carolyn, nice work for warming up and getting a good stretch in today. I noticed the last two deliveries I received from Whole Foods they have started lightening up how much they put in their paper shopping bags. When they first switched those bags were packed so heavy and were ripping apart with heavy stuff. I do like how they label the bags as to frozen, cold, and eggs etc..

Speaking of being on waiting lists, my husband went to the tag agency twice and could not renew his drivers license. He had to call one and set up an appointment and the soonest he could get was in June!! It is time to get it now. Things are crazy. We printed up copies of the appointment made dates and put them in both cars. Now I am wondering if I should set up an appointment a year early for my next renewal.

I did Body Weight and Bands along with the Ab workout. especially considering how little equipment is involved, its good.
I only do straight up /down jumps and not high. diane sue, you're right, risky for landing just as you said. my knees are reasonably OK and I don't want to hurt anything so not worth it to me. I throw myself into the "ground and pound" and the little jump-jumps thru the workout instead.

well, I don't like to think of myself as 'elderly" but I am. 73 next month. Holy crap ... sounds awful!!

some states are pushing teachers to the front of the queue so they can safely gets kids back into classrooms. Oregon is doing that, putting teachers in the same group as "elderly" so they can get back to class. Most kids are already behind by a year that can't be easily regained. summer vacation used to be hard to adjust from, I cant imagine how hard it will be after a year. I doubt all the home schooling by parents did will turn out well. children will need to re-learn how to behave in a classroom in a group so that will slow down the learning process too.

I just renewed my drivers license. done early and all online, received the license in a couple days. I did it in december although old license was good until the end of march. worked nicely. would not work if you needed a new picture, but mine was OK. this was the first year we could do it like that. not sure if it will stay in place after the virus calms down, but easier and faster than going in person. its so convenient to get things done like this. I think most of this will settle down as people get vaccinated and things work their way gradually back to "normal". I imagine every state has slightly different procedures for "normal" though.

Today I did LIS Athletic Training which was 56 minutes and 305 calories burned. My average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 163. I think of workouts like that as a shock to my metabolism and today it really felt like it! I used a lower step but it was still a challenge.

Diane Sue, great job with your workout. I have been happy with my orders from Amazon Fresh. They include many Whole Foods items and they do a great job with choosing produce and labeling the bags. As you know, I love wild sockeye salmon.

Valerie, Body Weight and Bands is a good workout and very effective. Bands seem to work the muscles a bit differently than weights.

Hello to Deb, Judy, and Cathy. Stay warm and safe and have a good day.

This morning I did Cathe Live TIme to Hiit it Low Impact 37 minutes, heart rate 106/127, 149 calories, 3,420 steps. My grandson came late so we had to skip zoom so I had to do his lessons all on my own with him. He read while I finished that one and then afterward I went back and did Cathe Live Hiit 40/20 Low Impact hoping for better readings. I only did 25 minutes because that is all I had time for and to leave a few minutes for stretching. I burned 109 calories with this one and heart rate was 115/ 141, 2,275 steps. I finished off with Perfect 30 mobility basics timesaver strength stretch, 10 minutes, 11 calories, heart rate 89/98, 18 steps. Total time spent was 72 minutes, 269 calories, 5,713 steps.
I loosened my Fitbit a bit on the second workout and it did jump up in heart rate, but apparently it didn't stay up enough. I did not do all of the squat thrusts and moves on my arms, but did the high knees tap feet standing and that type of stuff. My neck and upper back hurt on one side this morning again.

Valerie, I guess different states do licenses differently. When I renewed mine it was a quick in and out. That was a year and a half ago. It seems now there is a new license that has more stuff on it and it takes longer. I don't get it. We usually just choose a tag agency and go in and get it renewed. Generally if it expires you have to go to the DMV which is terrible and requires hours of waiting. I have my cell phone remind me to check before every birthday after having to do that. My husband was surprised when he was told it was by appointment and he couldn't get one for months. He had to call different tag agencies to see who could get him in. I am keeping tabs, because if it stays this way I am making an appointment a year ahead of time. Funny thing is there is a GAT class twice a week which means get along together. My husband shakes his head when he comes in and my grandson is crawling around on the floor and not paying attention. It is kind of ridiculous when they are not "together" . Then they keep trying to teach listening techniques which seems to go over most of the children's heads. Also suggesting active listening and audience behavior means sitting straight in your chair, eyes on the teacher or performers, and not eating or drinking drinks. They even had video clips on what would be proper and improper behavior the children were supposed to choose. I had to laugh at one of the Seinfield ones. Anyway this does not work.

Carolyn, I am glad that I tried the wild sockeye salmon again. My experience with it at Sprouts left me thinking it was all going to be like that. I checked and we do not have Amazon's fresh available here. I am wondering if we move further south of the city if I will still be able to get Whole Foods delivery. I think they are the only Whole Foods grocers here in the city. I checked online to se.

our DLs are good for 7 yrs. we can get 2 kinds of licenses, a "regular" one and an "enhanced" one that has more security checks done, so it functions more like a passport. the enhanced one costs more. I didn't do that because I have a passport that's good for a long time yet. depending on your state, you might need the "enhanced" level of DL for photo ID when flying. So if you want to fly, you should pay for the enhanced version because will be required. we used to go to canada often and needed a passport for the border crossing. That’s been in place a long time. Miss that, we enjoyed trips up there.
lines aren't bad anymore since most people can renew online now, and only need to go to a agency for a new pic taken. Used to be a long process! my pic is about 15 yo now but fortunately, I havent changed a bit! :p

No luck on the vaccine yet. I want to get done in the “older person” group since there will be more groups of people moving into place ASAP.

Good intentions didn't get me here the last couple days. Sunday I did the IMAX workout I created, which I think I'm going to tweak a bit so it flows better. Yesterday I did Mobility and Ab Circuits Yoga abs. Today was Party Rockin' Step 2 which I don't like nearly as much as #1. I much prefer the more dancy type step workouts.

Valerie I haven't looked much into the vaccine in Michigan. My Dad finally got my parents on the list for the pharmacy at Meijer, but they don't have any vaccines, so you just get on the list and wait to be called. I have heard of some school districts here where teachers got vaccinated. My sister's in Florida where it's every county for itself and some are being rational, some not so much and apparently if you have money you get to jump the line and get the vaccine.

Diane Sue, schools here are a total mixture. It's up to the district to decide if they want to do in person with an option for those who want to stay home. Our district has been in school all year and I've heard they have about 75% in person attendance. For awhile back in November it switched to only K-8 allowed to be in person, and high school/college had to go online, but as of mid-January they could go back to in person. In general unless you have something unusual here, you get get new plates and tabs by mail, and for drivers licenses we only have to go in every four years, mainly for a new pic. Initially last spring through summer they had huge issues with being closed and making people wait past their expiration dates, but they seem to have ironed out most of the problems at least at the smaller branches.

Great jobs on the workouts everyone!

Today I did All Out Low Impact HiiT, the no disc premix. That was 34 minutes and 216 calories burned. My average heart rate was 124 and maximum heart rate was 146.

Diane Sue, great job with Live Time to HiiT It Low Impact, Live HiiT 40/20, and P30 Mobility Basics timesaver. I can’t get Whole Foods delivery where I live, but Amazon Fresh is a good option. I live too far away from a WF store.

Valerie, I had to get a new photo on my license three years ago. It was definitely time!

Cathy, nice job with your IMAX blender workout, Party Rockin Step 2, and Mobility Basics and Ab Circuits Yoga-based Abs. That is my favorite workout on that Abs Circuits dvd. As to Party Rockin Step, I prefer the one that you just did. I could never get excited about PR Step 1.

Hello to Judy, Deb, and Lori.

I had a busy day again as we had two house lookers today along with everything else. We went to taco bell since we had Gertie with us to pick up something to eat and then went to the park. Unfotunately they did not give me a fork and I had gotten a chicken bowl, so I just got to smell it. I did Coffey Fit Raw new Ladder workout 54 minutes, 119 calories, heart rate 94/128, 1,478 steps. I also did Cathe Fit Split Low Impact Cardio premix 28 minutes, heart rate 103/136, 102 calories, 2,086 steps. I wanted some stretching so did Perfect 30 Flow mix of both 35 minutes, heart rate 85/105, 41 calories, 162 steps. Total time spent was 1 hour 53 minutes, 262 calories, 3,726 steps. I tried to put my exercise in MFP and it pops up and vanishes every time I try to put it in. Guess I will have to do it tomorrow or something.

Coffey Fit Raw Ladders 52 minutes
14 functional moves up the ladder, then back down the ladder, (you can stop here) or go back up the ladder Kelly uses 15# dbs and 8# dbs , 45 seconds each move
warm up 4:27 minutes
1. squats 15# dbs
2. no weight genie squats with a twist
3. plank/ renegade row/ lunge 15# dbs

11. skull crusher to sit up 8# dbs

Valerie, I really have no clue what is up with our drivers licenses. We have always had to go to a tag agency to get our picture and they would print up a new drivers license that was good for 4 years. My husband was able to walk in and get a title and take care of that sort of thing, but they could not get him in then for a license even though they were not busy. The only thing with licensing that I have been able to do is change address on line.

Cathy, I always have good intentions to get to everything and my check ins, but things get chaotic and sometimes I just have to let it go so I can get some rest at night. I enjoy the more dancy step workouts too. I get our plates and and those stick on things for updates each year by mail. I could go to the tag agency for that, but would just rather do it online.
I think there are some schools open here. Our governor, from what I hear is trying to push the schools to start opening, but some areas are putting up a fight for whatever reason. Children are not super spreaders so I do not get what the problem is.

Carolyn, I like getting Whole Foods products delivered. I could go to the store, but it is not like it is right around the corner and the area is kind of busy. It is built right in the middle of a Y shape of busy area road. Amazon fresh would be nice too. I know they have a warehouse here, but I guess that type of thing is not available. Amazon was handy as yesterday a toilet handle in the guest bath had rusted through and broke. I ordered last night and got the replacement part and put it on this afternoon. Love being able to do that.

Today’s workout was Perfect Pump Upper Body for 35 minutes and 146 calories burned. My average heart rate was 111 and maximum heart rate was 133. The total calories burned was much lower than when I did this workout 2 weeks ago. It was surprising, but not concerning.

Diane Sue, great job with your workouts yesterday. The Raw Ladder workout sounds like an interesting concept. Having to leave your house for potential buyers when you have the grandchildren must be difficult.

Big waves to everyone. Have a wonderful day.

If it's like here, the teachers unions are blocking/slowing down school openings because teachers need to be vaccinated first. even if the kids aren't at great risk, the teachers need to be protected. I dont see how they conduct classrooms wearing full protective gear and the kids wearing nothing. some states have pushed teachers to the front of the line with 65 yo. fine with me. the kids need to get back in class.

I did a 40 min spin yesterday. that is about my maximum so far. just cant go the full length of time so used a premix. full workout is closer to 55 minutes. maybe next time! it's more postural fatigue, I just get tired of spinning and cant stay comfortable on the seat, Im not exhausted or anything. outdoors I can go for hours. I dont like the up and down moves much, and I cant stay centered on the seat. so 40 ish is about all I do.
this morning we went xc skiing. ended up being almost 3 hours but we sat in the sun for half an hour having a snack. very pretty out but the sun made the snow sticky and difficult quickly. will try again on friday, but thsi was OK this morning.

I have inched down a little in weight and think I am within half a pound of goal weight, unless I bounce back up again. its only been about 3 lbs at issue. up one, down 1.5, up one etc etc.

Today I did Step Sync for 52 minutes with 389 calories burned. My average heart rate was 135 and maximum heart rate was 161. I was tired by the end and skipped the last 4 minutes of the finished product.

Valerie, nice job with cross country skiing and 40 minutes of spinning. I haven’t done spinning in quite a while, but I have the same problem. Schools here are mostly virtual or a hybrid model with some students in person and others virtual. We don’t have teacher’s unions here, but there is a lot of discussion and resistance to in person learning without teachers being vaccinated.

Enjoy your day everyone.

Yesterday I did Stretch Max with the band and then Ab Circuits Stability Ball Abs. Got up early enough this morning to do Live Crush It Low Impact. It's a good workout and just under 35 minutes.

Carolyn great job on the workouts-both of those are really good ones.

Diane Sue hopefully someone makes you an offer soon. Have you found something you like?

Valerie I have issues with any length of treadmill/bike/elliptical because I get bored. I definitely feel like they are not a natural position and harder on posture compared to if you are walking, biking or climbing outside. Great that you were able to get out and ski and enjoy the sun.

Started snowing here about 40 minutes ago and it's being pretty serious about it. Took less than 1/2 an hour to cover the area my husband had shoveled around the bird feeders and now the birds are showing up in big numbers. Especially the cardinals. There are about 20 now-so pretty. So far this winter the snow has either missed us or we've gotten no more than 3". DH shoveled the other day for the first time ALL winter. That is NOT our norm. Right now it says our high for the storm is 5". Even my parents who are in Kalamazoo which usually gets a ton of lake affect snow have only had 14" this winter. Their normal at this point is around 60".

I have been busy with house showings and school. I had to go to Sprouts today and took my grandson with me. I ran out of berries and fruit and needed more yogurt. Peanut butter for protein balls.
Yesterday I did Cathe Live Advanced Step Express, 48 minutes, 226 calories, heart rate 118/161, 4,746 steps. I followed that with Kelly Coffey Super Sculpt Premix Step and jump stopping at the second set of jumps( I thought there was a way to just do the step. I need to look), 20 minutes, 87 calories, heart rate 111/157, 1,909 steps. I finished with Perfect 30 strength and flexibility stretch premix, 20 minutes, 25 calories, 100 steps. Total time was 88 minutes, 338 calories, 6,755 steps.
Today I did Cathe Live #217,Cardio Glutes Core Express, 137 calories, 41 minutes, heart rate 106/145, 2,331 steps. I then did Kelly Coffey Cardio Quick Fix workout #1, 26 minutes, 120 calories, heart rate 112/166. 2,718 steps. Total time was 67 minutes, calories burned 257, 5,050 steps. I really need to get some sleep.

Valerie, nice work on the weight loss. Hopefully it stays down this time. I think the governor is pushing for schools to open, but has opposition. No way when I started helping with school work, did I think I would be doing this this long.

Carolyn, great job with the Step Sync today. Yes, it is quite a job as I shove school work, computers and tablets all into cabinets and all of the learning materials and pull it back home and set back up.

Cathy, I need to see if I can get up and get a shorter workout in tomorrow. My dog has her vet appointment in the morning and of course there is school.

diane sue that has to be tough!. nobody expected anything to run on this long, but especially school issues. getting your house ready to show is a big added burden. we should be doing everything possible to get kids back in the classroom and parents out of the teaching role. imagine how bad a job many parents do, even if they are trying, especially if they don't have good internet access or access at all. how will those kids ever catch up?

I did Perfect 30 upper last night because I let time run down too close to dinner.
I am still thrashing around trying to get brown rice done right in my instant pot. I dont like cooking it on stove top but cant get it right with the IP either. close, but not right. I made two batches yesterday, one was too done the other not done enough.
we wanted to ski today but weather was miserable all night and not conducive to a trip to the mountains. lots of rain and snow up higher.

Today I did Cardio Leg Blast for 58 minutes and 336 calories burned. My average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 156.

Cathy, great job with Stretch Max, Ab Circuits Stability ball abs, and Live Crush It Low Impact. Stretch Max was my weekly stretch for a long time until I decided to try yoga again. Now I try to mix it up a bit.

Diane Sue, nice job fitting in your workouts this week. You always find a way to get everything done.

Valerie, I hope you can get your rice cooked to your liking in the Instant Pot. I cook rice in a small Le Creuset dutch oven which works very well. I just have to remember to allow standing time before I serve it.

Hello to Deb and Judy. Lori, are you still around?

Hi all..

Only did a couple of workouts this week. Both were Cathe Live. Nice job everyone on keeping up with the workouts.

Valerie, a lot of people are having a tough time getting appointments for vaccines. The worst is when they get an appointment set up, and they are cancelled due to running out of the vaccine. Lucky enough, John and I were able to get them, ( him as a level 1A medical person), and be being over 65. We both have had our first shot, and are scheduled for the 2nd. We have a $15 rice cooker that makes great rice! It is actually our second one. As soon as the first one died, due to old age, I ran out and got an exact duplicate.

Judy, I hope you and Chris are able to get the vaccine soon.

Diane Sue, I agree on the school situation. Kids need to be with other kids and in school. The teachers here are getting the vaccine. Have you seen a house that you are interested in?

Cathy, I think we are getting your weather starting today around 4 pm. That is how it usually works. We get Michigan weather a day or 2 later. The cardinals on the feeder must have been so pretty!

Carolyn, have never looked at Amazon Fresh, I should go over there and check it out.

Hi to Lori,

Have a great weekend!
