Pentagenarians & Beyond: W/B 08/12/22

Hi Everyone,
It was a busy week and I didn't get a chance to post much. I've been catching up on reading posts and hope to be able to post more this week. Friday I did a 3 mile run and yesterday I did 40 minutes of Peloton rides. I plan on going to the gym with Chris tonight.

Caroline-I really like the Pyramid Combo Premix. The alternating of lower body and upper body gives it a pretty good cardio effect too. It's kind of like an early version of a PHA workout.
Nice job with the Jane Adams Morning Energy Yoga.

Cathy-The Pyramid Combo is alternating upper and lower, with weights going up only, so 3 sets per exercise. Great job with Hooked on PHA and Live High Intensity Cardio Step.

Valerie-Nice ride! I hope your back is feeling better.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Low Impact High Intensity all standing, Raw Abs Circuits and the Super Sculpt workouts. I have the Raw Ab Circuits on my list of Raw workouts to try.

I guess I did not check in with my workout yesterday. I did CDorner Cardio Step Intermediate/Adv, 23 minutes, 111/144 heart rate, 1,967 steps, 98 calories. I stopped here as I was not getting my heart rate up, I don't know where the 144 came from. The description says 136/140 bpm. She kept saying sorry and redoing a segment that was beginning to feel really long. I switched and did Cathe Party Rockin' Step #2 52 minutes, heart rate 120/147, 241 calories, 4,278 steps. I finished with Raw Day 5 stretch doing 11 minutes of it. I forgot about the segment with the jump on and off the step with both feet and squat thrusts. Next time I will look at the premixes on Party Rockin' 2 to see if I can do it without that combo. My knee was achy afterward and I did not do all of the jump on and off, I did something else.
Total time cardio 75 minutes, calories burned 339, 6,245 steps.
Today is a rest day.

Valerie, I am having problems with moss along one of our fence lines and the junipers there are all turning brown. It is frustrating because we had replaced on last year, then the web worms hit and I sprayed and got rid of them, and they were all green but one. Now they are all dying. Thinking of replacing them with some crepe myrtles. We have one of those in front and one in the very back. It is just odd with the moss when everything is so dry. I think the neighbors' sprinklers hit the fence on their side and it is too much water between their shed they put up and the fence. They planted a willow next to it and I think they planted it way to close to the fence since the shed was there. It is between the fence and shed and just not a lot of room.

Carolyn, the Super Sculpt workout has some nice premixes. I hope those were just accidents in the residential areas.

Judy, I liked the ab circuits Raw workout.

This morning I did KCM’s Power Splits Upper Body for 36 minutes and 174 calories burned. My average heart rate was 122 and maximum heart rate was 156. I was planning to do ICE Bootcamp Circuit, but after getting set up for it I really didn’t want to do that workout today. I might do it later this week.

Judy, great job with the 3 mile run and Peloton rides. It’s hard to fit in everything when you work a lot of hours.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Cardio Step Intermediate/Advanced, Party Rocking Step 2, and Raw a stretch. Switching to a different step workout was a good way to avoid frustration. I need to look at Super Sculpt again. I don’t remember anything about it.

Hello to Cathy and Valerie.

I didn't mean to vanish. Yesterday I did PP Lower Body and today I did Live Cardio Boxing. I did the boxing and intervals and skipped the Metabolic part at the end as I didn't feel like doing weights today.

Valerie sounds like you had a great ride!

Carolyn nice job with the yoga and Power Splits Upper Body.

Judy great job with the run and ride.

Diane Sue nice job with Cardio Step Intermediate/Adv, Party Rock'n Step 2 and the stretch.

Good morning. I did not work out today. My husband had a medical appointment and I needed to go with him.

Cathy, great job with PP Lower Body and Live Cardio Boxing.

Hello to Valerie, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did a 30 minute Peloton ride and today I did Live #366 PHA Supersets 2 and #140 Low Impact Cardio HiiT. Total time for both Live workouts was about 80 minutes.

Carolyn-Great job with Power Splits Upper Body. I hope your husband's appointment went well.

Valerie-Great job with xtrain bi's and tri's and abs and the bike ride.

Cathy-Great job with PP Lower Body and Live Cardio Boxing.

Diane Sue-Great job with the CDorner Step and Party Rockin Step and the Raw stretch.

This morning I did CDorner Hiit(no equipment no repeat) This should have been ab hiit or something. Lots of to the floor stuff. This was 32 minutes, heart rate 112/148 heart rate started out good then it went to planks and abs all timed 45 seconds. I burned 122 calories, and it was 1,520 steps. I followed this with Coffey Fit Raw boxing finisher to get in some extra cardio, 16 minutes, heart rate 121/149, 79 calories, 1,286 steps. I finished with CDorner's new stretch for neck and back, 28 minutes,39 calories. Total time was 76 minutes, calories burned 240 calories, 2,806 steps.

Yesterday, I did not workout. I was supposed to, but I didn’t fall asleep until about 1:30, that’s what getting 8 hours the night before got me. Ugh Then I slept in and was on slow and by the time, I went down to workout, I was just not in the mood. Today, everything was timely and I went back in time and did Hiit Pyramid, from the Shock Cardio series. Time had also dulled my memory of how hard it was, but I did it!

Carolyn I hope your husband’s appointment went well.

Valerie great job with the Xtrain Bi’s, Tri’s and Abs and the mountain bike ride.

Diane Sue nice job with the Hiit, Boxing and stretch workouts.

This morning I did JS Stride and Step for 30 minutes and 191 calories burned. My average heart rate was 126 and maximum heart rate was 149. My husband’s appointment was one of his annual appointments and was pretty routine.

Valerie, nice job with XTrain Bis and Tris and Core.

Judy, great job with the Peloton ride, Live PHA Supersets 2 and Low Impact Cardio HiiT.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner HiiT, Raw boxing finishers, and CDORNER stretch.

Cathy, great job with Shock Cardio HiiT Pyramid. That is a very hard workout!

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Would someone else please plan to start the thread next week? we are planning to drive to MT this weekend, but day is uncertain and may change at the last minute. either day is doubtful for me.

too hot but house things need to get done. this looks like the best week. we may stay longer, depending. I'm not a fan of summer for more than month. look forward to fall with cool cloudy weather.

we have a small water leak somewhere in our house. driving us crazy! we have a pressurizer on our water system to maintain decent pressure. it goes on audibly when pressure drops. sometimes does not go off for hours, and then sometimes every 15 minutes. you'd think a would be water leak easy to find. it must leak where the water drains directly out, as its not leaking into ceiling, floors or walls. hard to locate. we've replaced old toilets and valves. turned off ice maker and washing machine. all outdoor water and lines to our house are OK. we are in process of elimination. we can turn the pressurizer off so no noise to wake us up at night, but doesnt stop the leak. not looking for anyone to know what this is, just whining in frustration. we may end up calling a specialized plumbing service because a regular plumber won't be able to help.

cathy ... so annoying when sleep timing gets "off". too much, then too little. hope you can get back on schedule.
carolyn, hope you husbands medical appt went well.

No workout today. The sprinkler guys are finally here. I was not up for a workout today. I woke up so sore and decided rest was probably best. Surprised though as the workouts were lighter on the weight category, but some of the moves were rough. Also, I seem more prone to injury when doing compound moves.

Valerie, I hate it when there is a leak like that. We have gone through it several times. Each time it resulted in us getting a professional out that could find the leak. Even if you find it you still have to pay someone that knows what they are doing to repair it. The last house had one under the shower. They used cameras to repair and managed to save the floor by going under the tub and through. We just had to build the wall back next to the tub and retile it. That was our third experience with slab leaks, and we had an upstairs leak two houses ago and noticed it because the ceiling started getting mold on it downstairs in the laundry room. I kept think there was one here as it sounded like water running somewhere. I finally attribute the sound to the air system in the attic as I hear it in the laundry room and sometimes, I do not hear it and I realized the sound was when the air is running. This is a two-year-old house so you think there would not be leaks.

Cathy, my sleep patterns have been terrible. I end up till after 12 and wake up multiple times, fall back to sleep in the recliner and get such a late start and slow going till I get to a workout. I much prefer getting up earlier so I can shop and get some productive things done. Since it rained finally last night, I went out earlier and cleared out some grass in planters while the ground was still wet. I used to love doing Hiit Pyramid. I don't know if my knees would love it so much though.

Carolyn, I was thinking of doing Step and Stride this morning with a stretch if I did something. I know Jessica Smith is not going to cause me a bunch of pain and discomfort.

I had to have some dental work done late yesterday afternoon. I have a cracked molar and needed to see an endodontist for a root canal. She started the procedure yesterday and I will need to go back in 3 weeks to finish it. Last night was a little rough but I felt much better today. This morning I did Cathe Live #405, Standing Legs. It is a mix of weighted and unweighted exercises. I liked it and will do it again. I went pretty light today but I just wanted to do something. I'll go heavier the next time I do it.

Valerie- I hope you can locate the leak. That sounds very frustrating. I can start the thread early Sunday morning.

Carolyn-Great job with JS Stride and Step.

Cathy-Great job with Hiit Pyramid.

Diane Sue-I'm sorry you woke up sore. I hope taking a rest day helped. I think I need to take one this week too.

Dental problems are so difficult! I'm really lucky to have needed relatively little significant dental work but my DH has had "everything" done 10x over. so I have great sympathy. he has been stable for quite a few years but had to get a lot of work. he had bad care as a child. he develops abscesses at tip of the tooth root. Judy, hope it goes smoothly.

I did a fast upper body workout just to do something. I do two sets each of dips, tricep pushups, curls, concentration curls, kickbacks, push ups, and rows. it only takes about 15-20 minutes with some short stretches in between. I get in a fast uncomplicated workout.

we've had a floor leak from the shower pan. the contractor had to come back and redo that. now we have the water turned off to the washing machine. we've replaced toilets and all their shut off valves etc etc. I'm hopeful this might be it. weve done the refrigerator, all outdoor water, dishwasher, checked all sinks. there is no water present but when turned off, we are not hearing the pressurizer much. it would be so easy if there was water dripping somewhere! there is a leak somewhere that exits by a normal route so its not as easy as a wet spot on the ceiling. we would not hesitate to call a plumber if we thought they would be useful. No.

This morning I did Total Body Trisets Upper Body. My time was 61 minutes with 279 calories burned. My average heart rate was 119 and maximum heart rate was 159. This workout included core and I am already feeling it.

Valerie, nice job doing your own short upper body workout. I hope that you can find the leak. That’s so frustrating.

Diane Sue, I’m glad that the sprinkler guys finally came. Taking a rest day was probably a good idea. I turn to Jessica’s workouts for that very reason, I know that I won’t injure myself.

Judy, nice job with CL Standing Legs, especially after having a root canal. Sometimes it helps to just get in a light workout.

Hello to Cathy.

Today I did CDorner 30-minute Butt workout, 39 minutes, 93 calories, heart rate 89/109, 823 steps. I then did Raw Step Boxing, 28 minutes, 119 calories, heart rate 118/153, 2,462 steps. I finished with Raw stretch finisher and the neck and shoulder portion of CDorner Neck and hips stretch. I stopped after the child pose to up dog portion. This was 26 minutes, 38 calories. Total time was 93 minutes, 250 calories(that does not make sense) 3,285 steps. I guess the workout was not a real heart pumping workout though and I spent a lot of time on the floor.
Butt Workout uses dumbbells and a heavy fabric loop band
Warm Up
Band around ankles and 1 15# dumbbell squats 1 minutes
Band above the knees push back alternating legs/squat to jump 1 minutes
Band 1 leg balance hinge bend at knee and stand up straight knee up 60 seconds

band on leg back diagonal tap/lift alternating 1 minutes

band on bridge with hands on the floor/knee in and out 1 minute repeat other side
remove band for last series which is repeated 3 times 30 seconds each move
glute bridge with dumbbell on hips 15# 30 sec flip over and do glute presses with 10# db behind knee 1 1/2 30 sec then pulses for 30 sec glute press other leg
repeat all two more times
stretch

Valerie-Thank you. I'm hoping I won't have any more dental problems for a while. I'm not looking forward to the next appointment but it will be good to get it done.
Great job with your upper body workout.

Carolyn-Thank you. It does help to get a light workout in. Great job with Total Body Trisets Upper Body. That reminds me that I need to get some core work in. I've been neglecting that.

Diane Sue-Great job with the CDorner 30-minute Butt workout, Raw Step Boxing, and the stretches.

Hi to Cathy

This morning I did Total Body Trisets Lower Body. My time was 42 minutes with 198 calories burned. Average heart rate was 119 and maximum heart rate was 151. I am very sore from yesterday’s upper body workout.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Butt Workout, Raw Step Boxing, and CDORNER stretch. I usually notice a lower calorie burn with workouts that have a lot of floor work.

Judy, I have to remind myself to include core work. It’s easier when the core is integrated into the main program.

Hello to Valerie and Cathy.
