Pentagenarians & Beyond: September 21, 2025

I did 30 Minute Kickbox Express and Live Core with Yoga Blocks Express. I really hope she does another yoga block core, because I love that workout. It's been raining lightly this morning, but nothing that's going to help our parched ground.

Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, morning energy practice for 18 minutes. Saturday was my rest day.

We seemed to have lost Diane Sue. I hope all is well with her.

Valerie, nice job with the trail ride. I hope to get a Covid vaccine soon too, but the how of it is still unclear. Georgia is one of the states with specific requirements.

Cathy, great job with HiiT 30/30, Live Bands, Lopos, and Weights, 30 Minute Kickbox express, and Live Core with Yoga Blocks express.

Hello to Judy.

carolyn i looked on the costco website for vaccines and i can get covid. not clear if i can do it on walk in basis or if I need an appt. nobody to ask on sunday. we dont have restrictions here. dont get me started on the lunacy of the whole vaccine situation. they are undermining well founded science in so many areas. people who want the vaccine should be able to get it without second guessing by completely unqualified people in leadership positions.
I suffered thru all the miserable childhood diseases. i knew two people with polio. my father almost died young from diphtheria and had the scarred throat to prove it. kitchen table surgery. this situation will get very ugly before it gets better as we've seen with measles. these people simply do not realize what they dont know, and a 15 minute Google search does not equate to a degree in medicine or the sciences. . use your vote, contact your representatives and speak your mind.

i also noticed Diane sue has not posted in a while. hope she signs in again soon.

raining today so far. not sure what i can do today.

Today I did Live Time to Hiit it Low Impact and PHA Supersets, both of which are tough. The hiit workout has minimal rests and it longer than most, and the PHA was pretty fast paced for the weights used, so it kept the heart rate up.

I ended up getting the COVID vaccine at Walgreen's as they canceled my one I'd scheduled at Meijer because I'm still 64, but Walgreen is dong them in a lot of states for anyone. They let me schedule the appointment and then texted me to call an hour and a half before my appointment and said they couldn't do it, so while shopping I made an appointment at the Walgreen's across the street. My sister lives near the SC border, and she qualified because of autoimmune issues, but her husband didn't. He couldn't get it in NC, so they just drove to the SC Walgreen's. It is crazy, but I think in general anyone over 65 is supposed to be able to get it, and there's a long list of conditions which also qualify.

I had mumps, laid on the couch watching TV and eating ice cream and jello. Chicken pox went through my kindergarten class and I brought it home to my brother (3) and my sister who was an infant. She got one spot my Mom found and never had them again. The measles vaccine came out when I was about 3 and I definitely remember it making me feel really bad for a few days, and I had all the other vaccines. Honestly, I remember feeling far worse from the measles vaccine than from either chickenpox or mumps.

I hope Diane Sue is okay.

Cathy i had measles and chicken pox when i was a little older, probably 13-ish, junior H.S. OMG i was sick with both. my sister brought them home and we slept in the same room. i lost at least 15 lbs with each and i was not over weight. had to get the doctor on a house call for both. i dont remember how close together two illnesses were. i had so many step throats it was not clear when i had mumps, but none was not anything i wanted to revisit. out of school for several weeks. i dont remember what happened with my brother. he was a lot younger. and then after chicken pox, when i was in my mid 20's i got shingles. chicken pox is the virus that keeps on giving.

Today I did Jessica Smith’s One Mile of Motivation, 15 minutes, 120 calories burned, 143 average heart rate, and 188 maximum heart rate. Then I did Jessica’s Total Stretch for an additional 18 minutes. I had all of those childhood diseases. There was six of us, so a lot of shared germs!

Cathy, great job with Live Time to HiiT It Low Impact and PHA Supersets. That sounds like a tough workout.

Hello to Valerie, Judy, and Diane Sue.

Yesterday was a rest day and today I did a 45-minute Peloton Ride. Tomorrow my husband and I have our annual cardiologist appointment in the morning.

Cathy-Great job with Kickbox Express, Live Core with Yoga Blocks Express, Live Time to Hiit it Low Impact and PHA Supersets. I love the PHA Supersets workouts. That’s weird that Meijer cancelled your Covid vaccine. I’ve been getting texts from CVS this week asking me to schedule mine and I’m 62. I have an appointment Thursday for my flu shot so I will see what they say about it then.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, morning energy practice, Jessica Smith’s One Mile of Motivation and Jessica’s Total Stretch.

Hi to Valerie & Diane Sue

we rode the trail for 15 miles and 90 minutes. spent time looking for salmon and saw some jumping but not a big run so far. it rained yesterday and that often starts things off. i scheduled my covid for tomorrrow. i usually get no side effects but its a new vaccine each year. nothing vigorous planned. mine is thru costco rx.
