Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 28, 2026

This morning I did my usual yoga and mobility practice for 18 minutes. Yesterday was my rest day and I went to the Farmer’s Market. I enjoyed the outing but it was very crowded.

Judy, nice work with the Peloton rides, Live Fast and Furious Upper Body, outside walking, and 10 minutes of rowing.

Valerie, nice job with therapy, abs, and Stacked Sets Upper Body.

Hello to Cathy and Diane Sue.

Yesterday I did 50 minutes of Peloton Rides and my PT work. Today I did a 45 minute Peloton Ride. I was going to do a walk/run but by the time I was ready to start it was a little too hot out. I’m going to have to get out early in the mornings this week if I want to do any outdoor workouts.

Carolyn-Great job with your yoga and mobility practice.

Valerie-Great job with your stretching and ab work.

Cathy-Great job with Live Upper Body Balltastic. I’m going to have to check that one out.

Hi to Diane Sue

This morning I did Strong and Sweaty Cardio Slam, floor cardio only. That was 26 minutes, 150 calories burned, average heart rate 125, and maximum heart rate 166. I had to take care of some business this morning and took much longer than I expected. I was there almost 3 hours.

Valerie, nice job with stretching and Ab work.

Cathy, great job with Live Upper Body Balltastic.

Judy, it looks like we were posting at the same time. Nice job with the Peloton rides and PT work. It was 75 degrees when I woke up this morning. It’s too hot to be outside for any length of time.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

we have switched to a chilly damp forecast. i am not complaining with the 4th so close and idiots with fireworks scare the crap out of us every year. might make it worse in fact, but its damp so the burn risk is less. not gone but less.
we wanted to ride today but it never lightened up so i did stacked upper body again along with two sets of stretches. trying to ride tomorrow instead.

I didn’t work out today. The plumber was here again to install new hot water heater. That should take care of plumbing issues for a while.

Waving hello to everyone. Have a nice day.

Did our mountain bike this morning for an hour and 45 minutes. Wish they would finish logging in the area so we aren't repeating the same ride all the time. when we finished today we were the only people there. it was very cool and overcast still, with a little misting but not really wet. Again I am grateful we have general dampness and no wind. so sad to see all the fires to thesouth.

plumbing issues are the worst part of home ownership. DH an I do some repair things but mostly we leave plumbing to the professionals.

Today I did a 20-minute Peloton Outdoor walk. I started around 9 or so and it was already way to hot to be comfortable. I won’t be doing that again this week. It’s just too hot. I need to get some strength work in anyway and this looks like a good week for indoor workouts.

Carolyn-Great job with Strong and Sweaty Cardio Slam, floor cardio only. That’s good that you got a new hot water heater. I agree, it’s too hot to be outside for any amount of time this week.

Valerie-Great job with stacked upper body, stretches and your mountain bike ride.

Hi to Cathy & Diane Sue

Today I did Jessica Smith’s 30 Minute Fat Blaster, 30 minutes, 168 calories burned, average heart rate 116, and maximum heart rate 141.

Valerie, good job with mountain biking. It is very sad to see the fires.

Judy, nice job with the outdoor Peloton walk. Indoor workouts are a good idea.

Hello to Cathy and Diane Sue.

the crazy thing is its cold and snowing in montana. some ski areas got more snow than they got all winter. totals like 16-24 inches. but of course climate change is a hoax.... we arent there now but we keep an eye on whats happening there. we are quite cool and cloudy here which is fine with me. i have a pretty short tolerance for hot sunny weather. its fine for cycling but today DH has a dental appt. just cleaning but its always a stress producer. he has crummy teeth and there are often surprises.

Yesterday I did Restorative Yoga, walked at the zoo and then went to my parents. At 9:00, I was already wearing a tank top, but the week before, I had started my zoo walk in a sweatshirt. Definitely prefer the sweatshirt. Today I did an AOLIH MIX, Express Core w/Yoga Blocks, and Stretch Max with the band. It was 78 before 6 a.m. today. I have walked a few times. Real feel is almost 100 but I don’t stay out long, but I feel like moving today. At least it’s breezy.

Judy definitely a good week for indoor workouts.

Carolyn I am definitely missing the below 60 morning temps we were having.

Valerie I hope your DH had no issues show up at the dentist. Hard to picture snow anywhere right now. Hope things stay damp there for you.

I did the upper body section of Pyramid pump followed cathes weights on it. I will get sore from this one. I did it with a bench and not a ball. it would be harder with the ball but i didnt go upstairs to get it.

cathy there were even some roads closed due to snow. Beartooth pass is really high, like 11,000 feet but its usually open in summer after plowing. there is some snow up there all year but not on the road. it snowed much lower than that. warming back up in a couple days snow will melt cause slides or flooding. no normal here!.

His dental visit was not great. his preventive care is really good so he gets an atta' boy for that. but 6 little cavities along the gumline. i am going to brag for my instant read on this. he uses these cough drops at night. looked at the ingredients. sure enough, there is sugar in them. he thoroughly brushes and flosses, then sticks in a cough drop , puts his night guard in, instantly sealing in the sugary suspension along the gumline. ive said before i didn't think this was a good habit. He didnt listen. I am very sorry to be right on this but he blew off the idea before. very small and can be done in one appt but avoidable.

We rode the regular trail this morning for one hr twenty minutes. still cool and cloudy and possibly the whole weekend. lessens the fire danger so I'm happy about that. our next door neighbors appear to be gearing up for a real blow out. they usually don't start up until midnight so that is" "nice" but it will be very loud. we have all the hoses out and ready in case of fire. its awful to go thru this every year. much quieter in montana but we are afraid to not be here in case something ignites. someone not far from here somehow ignited an estimated 700 lbs of fireworks in his house and burned down his own house and a neighbors plus injured several firefighters a couple days ago. there is no explanation for how crazy it gets. Our kitty was very agitated last year but he wss new to us then. hopefully he deals with it better this year.

This morning I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body. That was 40 minutes, 125 calories burned, average heart rate 107, and maximum heart rate 140.

Valerie, I saw the news story about that fire started by fireworks. That was crazy. I’m sorry that your husband has more dental work, but I think that I agree with you. Cough drops are a bad habit.

Cathy, great job with Restorative yoga, walks at the zoo, AOLIH, Express Core w/yoga blocks, and Stretch Max.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

Carolyn i had no idea story got nationwide coverage. no details reported here but wow, talk about dumb! its an hours drive away so not a neighbor or something. since everything exploded im not sure how much detail will show up soon. A lot of the cities have outlawed fireworks but that is within city limits. if you live outside the city, its the wild west. some places like Utah have simply banned fireworks to avoid more fires. its stunning to look at the fires burning everywhere and to see the majority are human caused. doesn't mean someone intentionally set a fire, but they were careless and fire got out of control. like the person who tosses their cigarette butt out the window.

DH has this bad habit of using cough drops at bedtime to clear his nose but the little devils have sugar in them and long term use caused tooth decay, he uses a night guard and the sugar must pool underneath it. he's a really smart guy who has been doing something extremely dumb. this will be 6 tiny fillings all in one visit.

Today I did LMR2 Kickbox Fusion and Live Metabolic Mash Up.

Valerie there are definitely times you wish you weren’t right about something. I hope you come through the fire works okay.

This morning I did Jessica’s One Mile of Motivation, 15 minutes, 115 calories burned, average heart rate 135, and maximum heart rate 154. Then I did STS 2 Chair Yoga for an additional 21 minutes.

Valerie, yes the fire story was on national news. I read that the fire was started by someone smoking near where they had fireworks stored in the home!

Cathy, nice job with LMR 2 Kickbox Fusion and Live Metabolic Mash Up.

Hello to Judy.

Wednesday I did a 5 minute row and a 30 minute Peloton Upper Body workout. Yesterday was a rest day, I did 30 minutes of Yin Yoga. Today I did a 45 minute Peloton ride.

Carolyn-Great job with Jessica Smith’s 30 Minute Fat Blaster, P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body, One Mile of Motivation and STS 2 Chair Yoga.

Cathy-Great job with Restorative Yoga, walking at the zoo, the AOLIH MIX, Express Core w/Yoga Blocks, and Stretch Max with the band.

Valerie-Great job with the upper body section of Pyramid Pump and your trail ride. It’s terrible that you have be prepared to fight a fire due to your neighbors and their fireworks. The township we live in is pretty good about enforcing the fireworks regulations (no fireworks after 11:45 pm and only on specified holidays).
