Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 22, 2025

This morning I did the Upper Body Balance Discs, SB Bonus Abs 2 and Restorative Yoga. We don't use our air till it hits 80 in the house, and set it at 78. This morning the temps got down to 74, so I opened everything up because the air in the house felt dead, but it was back to 80 by 9:00. So back we are to air again. I'm just not a fan, I like being able to open windows, but it's going to get nasty outside again today.

Today I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, Morning Energy practice which was18 minutes. It’s a very warm day already and it will get even hotter over the next few days.

Cathy, great job with Upper Body Balance Discs, SB Bonus Abs 2, and Restorative yoga. The a/c is critical here with the heat and humidity. It looks like this summer will be extremely hot.

Waving hello to everyone and wishing you a wonderful day.

a big reason i moved to the PNW was its cooler here most of the time. a lot of people hate it but im happy at 50 degrees!. i cant function when its hot. we set our AC to 65 although it never gets close to that. the house doesnt need much heat in winter. we like windows open too. no matter what its set on, the upstairs stays warm. a couple years ago we got some mini splits installed in the bedrooms. since then they are what we use. if we run the full house AC, its seldom for long. if wildfire smoke is a problem, then yes. mostly we use the bedroom coolers and thats enough. we seldom get serious humidity like i know the midwest and southeast get.

yesterday i did every therapy exercise I've ever done, and walked for half an hour in the yard. we planned to walk or ride this morning but it was still 50 and raining so maybe later today.

Today I went for a 30-minute walk outside and did a 30-minute Yin Yoga class. I walked around 9 am and it was already hot.

Cathy-Great job with Upper Body Balance Discs, SB Bonus Abs 2 and Restorative Yoga. It’s going to be very hot out for a few days.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga, Morning Energy practice.

Valerie-Great job with your walking and therapy work.

Today I did 4DS High Intensity Step. I wanted to put together a workout with the step from the 2 cardio workouts, but while LIS has a breakdown between the step and the blast, HIS does not. Which seems odd. Then I did Live Metabolic Madness. That was very challenging!

Years ago the house we lived in (I was 7-9th grades there) didn't have air, though my Dad managed to have a window air conditioner in their bedroom. One of the summers we had a really hot spell, and all of us set up in the finished basement and slept down there for a week. Even on hot days, our basement only gets to about a high of 72 which is fine with me.

I didn't get called into jury duty for today, but I have to check every day after 5:00, to see about the next day. So, I set an alarm, so I wouldn't forget. I have an appointment for a tire rotation tomorrow, so we'll see if I get to keep it.

Today I did JS HiiT Walk, 30 minutes, 213 calories burned, average heart rate 136, and maximum heart rate 163.

Valerie, nice job with the yard walk and therapy exercises.

Judy, great job with your outdoor walk and Yon Yoga. Walking early was a good idea.

Cathy, great job with 4DS High Intensity Step. Hopefully you won’t have to actually go in for jury duty.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Today I did LMR Pilates Fusion just to the cat cow for a warm up with LMR Cardio bonus, 22 minutes, 100 calories, heart rate 105/151. I then did CDorner Move To Improve Day 23 Tabata Cardio 27 minutes, 188 calories, heart rate 140/162. Total time was 49 minutes, 288 calories, 3,458 steps. I did not do anything this weekend.

Carolyn, nice work on JS Hiit Walk today.

Cathy, good job on 4DS High Intensity Step and Live Metabolic Madness. I use have used the 4DS Premix that does both step workouts together many times. I always dreaded jury duty. They always made us come in every day till they had picked who could leave and stay. Usually got out of there after two days. I have been through it 3 times. That is plenty.

Judy, nice job on the 30-minute walk outside and 30-minute Yin Yoga class. It has been pretty warm here lately in the 90's. My dog has me out there multiple times playing fetch with him.

Valerie, nice work doing every physical therapy move you have done and yard walk.

yesterday DH had his big oral surgery. it didnt take too long, an hour, but tough one. he is doing ok with some swelling and needs to keep it toned down this week. careful with eating and drinking etc. soft pedal exercise. i was very busy all day so took a day off exercise.
we live in a community of 150 homes with a HOA. yesterday our HOA president posted his dog had been killed by cyanide poisoning. it was most likely bait for coyotes/rats but no one is saying anything. what a terrible thing! we all live on 5 acre lots. most people dont have their lots walled off and even electric fencing might not work 100%. it was a friendly dog who didn't usually go off his lot unless being walked. i dont know details. like most semi rural areas, we have predators around but generally minding their own business. so sad to see happen. all our neighbors especially those with dogs are terrified and afraid to walk because no one knows where this came from and what is the source.

diane sue be cautious with the cat cow move. i do it but not with the energy i used to put into it.

This morning I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body, 41 minutes, 123 calories, average heart rate 106, and maximum heart rate 135.

Diane Sue, great job with LMR Pilates Fusion, LMR Cardio Bonus, and CDorner Tabata Cardio.

Hello to Cathy, Judy, and Valerie.

Have a great day and try to stay cool during this heat wave.
