Pentagenarians & Beyond: June 22, 2025

we did our usual trail ride this morning. 1 hr 20 minutes, 15 miles.

DH is swollen but otherwise feeling half way decent. he was born with fairly crummy teeth and didnt get good care as a child. both he and his older sister have similar problems with unexplained abscesses and infections. he takes extremely careful care of his teeth but always some kind of dental issue. seems to be settling down now.

just had a deer family strolling thru our yard with twin fawns. omg they were cute, jumping and frolicking all over. i get so mad when they eat my plants, but they are so cute i cant stay mad for long.

Today I did CDorner Arms with Bands (mini loop) 22 minutes, 118 calories, heart rate 117/ 147 followed by CDorner 80's Aerobics high or low impact 40 minutes, 261 calories, heart rate 136/159. Total time 62 minutes, 379 calories, 4,451 steps. I also added some stretching while watching a youtube on movements that should probably not be done with osteoporosis. Yesterday I did not get a workout in. I went with my husband to drop off his car for some work and we ran to a pet store and lunch while waiting.
I was reading posts and the power went out. We had a heavy rainstorm come through. The power went out after the storm.

Cathy, nice that you got stretch max in before going out and shopping.

Carolyn, good job on Perfect Pump Lower Body and the extended stretch.

Judy, nice work on this morning's 30-minute Peloton Power Zone Ride and tonight's 30 minutes of Peloton Full Body Strength.

Valerie, I think the spine is supposed to move some, but some moves end up being more than it should be. The video I was watching mentioned superman probably being not good. The demo though had a woman really going up high with the upper and lower body though. Also getting carried away with Russian twists.
I feel for your husband. Every time I got a temporary crown it would fall off at least once.

Today I did Rev’d Up Rumble, 41 minutes, 255 calories burned, average heart rate 128, and maximum heart rate 160. I had several interruptions but I managed to finish it.

Valerie, nice job with the road ride. I’m glad that your husband felt up to doing it.

Cathy, nice job with Stretch Max with bands before you shopped.

Diane Sue, nice job with CDorner Arms with Bands and 80s Aerobics.

Hello to Judy. Have a great day everyone.

diane sue that was my take on it too. movement is good but not too much ,especially fast and with weights. the supermans feel wrong and even before my surgery i didnt like them. i do more stretches now and when using weights i do mostly moves where my back is supported. i need to respect the network of metal rods in there now. i do up and down with cat/cow but the sideways i am careful with.

another dust up with my sister. when the power has gone out, sometimes electronics need a reset. this is standard for electronics! unplug for 5 min, replug and let it reset. she has a phone and a new oven not working right. you would think I asked her to walk across Death Valley barefoot. I am so ready to totally block her and never speak to her again. Her landline phone is not old, maybe 2 yrs. . she just went thru problems because of a power out. she led me to believe she had done this unplug procedure but she lied. she switched handsets! not the same thing. what she wants is a new phone.... that she wont know how to use so it's my problem to figure out for her.

now she says she cant reach the wall plug because its too hard to get to, behind furniture, boxes, blah blah blah. if i got her a new phone it would need to plug into the same spot, but somehow that's ok. its ok if i shop for, pay for and send her a new phone that she wont be able to set up herself anyway, just so she doesnt have to unplug her current one. makes perfect sense to me. I have offered to buy a plug bar but she doesnt want one. no clue why.
Even when I help, she is obstinate and fights every part of the solution. her new stove probably has the same problem. getting her to flip the breaker on and off is "too much" for her to do. DH and I have "fixed" our oven multiple times. when the power is interrupted or flickers, this can happen.

just venting. raining today, so inside workout.
