Pentagenarians & Beyond: July 20, 3025

Today I did Live Low Impact Cardio Hiit and Metabolic Upper Body. On Friday, Derek found out that his position is going to full time August 1! Right now it's permanent 25 hours a week, plus filling in for others. That will guarantee him an extra 60 hours a month, which will make a big different and hopefully gets him insurance. He's meeting with them tomorrow to do paperwork. Today he's on his way to Roosevelt National Park, the north unit, with a friend. He's really hoping to see big horn sheep, but they seem to be hit or miss for viewing.

Valerie all those days of working out did include at least a couple that were just yoga/stretching and maybe core. I don't really consider those workouts. Sorry your drive back was so unpleasant. It's definitely construction season, though this year is the least I've been impacted in about 4 years.

cathy weve seen a lot of bighorns but they definitely dont stick out like mountain goats. they blend into the background vegetation and rocks really well. we used to know where to look for them at yellowstone but all changed after the flooding a couple years ago. trails and bridges got washed out and aren't getting replaced. cant get to the best areas unless you cross the river and now its not possible. another area has construction going on and is too busy. hope your son finds them. sheep arent very skittish IMO after you find them. weve had them walk very close many times if we sat quietly observing them.

there are several HUGE replacement projects going on this summer on the interstate. even if you avoid that particular road, all the traffic it normally has diverts to other route so they get way worse. . traffic here is always awful to begin with. We try to avoid peak times but even that doesnt help much. a big reason we left and came back on weekdays is much is being closed on weekends. we will be staying home mostly for the next two months. this is getting old and depressing!

This morning I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga for 18 minutes.

Cathy, great job with Live Low Impact Cardio HiiT and Metabolic Upper Body. That’s good news for Derek and his job status.

Hello to Valerie, Diane Sue, and Judy.

This morning I did a 45-minute Peloton Power Zone Ride. I am really looking forward to not working. It will be wonderful to have a long break and to be able to decide if I’m ready to retire or if I want to go back for a few months next Spring. I appreciate that Home Depot offers this as an option.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga.

Cathy-Great job with Live Low Impact Cardio Hiit and Metabolic Upper Body. That’s great news about Derek’s job.

Valerie-Great job with your park walk. I’m sorry that your drive home was so bad. There is so much construction going on here too. It makes it hard to get anywhere.

Hi to Diane Sue

Today I did Live Long and Strong Mobility. Did anyone see the crazy hail in ND yesterday afternoon. Bonus that Bismarck had some pretty bad flooding in areas. Derek's at work, so he didn't have any issues. He came back from the National Park and was 1-2 hours ahead of that storm. And the rain in Bismarck didn't happen until around 10.

Valerie Derek didn't see any bighorns. Bison, prairie dogs, and then birds, a white tail, a chipmunk and some lizards. In the lizard category, Nick's kitten found a tiny gecko in his apartment and after putting the kitten away, he rescued the gecko. LOL

when foliage dries and turns brown they are they are hard to spot. we knew spots where they hung out so got to see them regularly. hope he has better luck next time. once time we saw a pair in Waterton NP dueling in fall. looks better in person than TV.

holy crap. never saw hail like that!. think that might be hard to drive on??? we crashed a truck in a sudden hail storm back in the 90's. came around a corner on the freeway and drove into a white out with an inch of hail slick as ice. one of those massive crashes with 20+ cars. thought we had stopped but got hit from behind multiple times and into knocked into someone in front of us. a mess but no one was hurt because no one was going very fast. didnt hear about that storm on the news but sunday night there is bad news coverage.
we rode trail this morning for 75 minutes.

Today I did Low Impact Sweat workout one, 27 minutes and 150 calories burned.

Judy, nice job with your Peloton Power Zone ride. Trying out retirement is a good idea before jumping into it full time.

Cathy, nice job with Live Long and Strong Mobility. That hail in North Dakota is unbelievable! I didn’t know about that.

Valerie, nice job with your trail ride.
