Pentagenarians & Beyond: 9/15/24

Good morning again. I did Jane Adams Gentle Yoga today for 18 minutes.

Diane Sue, great job with CDorner Step and Strike, Pyramid Pump Triceps and Biceps, and Flow with Mira Back Pain Relief.

Waving hello to Judy, Cathy, and Valerie. Have a wonderful day everyone.

Today was a rest day from exercise. I did 45 minutes of Yin Yoga after work.

Carolyn-Great job with Jane Adams Gentle Yoga.

Hi to Diane Sue, Cathy and Valerie

Today is a rest day and family time. Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get a workout in. My husband and I need to run a couple of errands before he goes to work and I will be preparing for hosting game day on Tuesday.

Today I did Cardio Party, 39 minutes and 271 calories burned. My average heart rate was 132 and maximum heart rate was 163. I had forgotten to renew my car tags and ran out to do that after my workout. Fortunately that didn’t take long.

Hello to everyone and I hope that you are having a wonderful day.

been preoccupied with my oral surgery tomorrow. I know I will be "out" and not aware of anything. its really not a big deal, and I know that, but I have nightmares and terrors, anxiety attacks etc a lot. completely out of proportion to reality. my brain knows this but I still react this way. back surgery was less traumatic for me! I have not needed much dental work before so it doesnt feel like "business as usual" at all.
Anyway, I did elliptical and therapy saturday, therapy only on sunday, and today we did a hike, not long but a short steep one for 2 hours.

ETA yesterday afternoon while gassing up my car there was a pop in my jaw and sudden intense pain and a terrible bitter taste. there must have been an abscess and it opened. A lot of pain for about 6 hours and then it toned down to almost nothing so I slept ok. cant wait to get this mess over with. that was likely the reason I could not get numb, infection can interfere. sorry for all the drama but I am such a wimp about dental things.

Today I did Perfect 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body, 41 minutes, (actual 31 minutes), 101 calories, heart rate 93/118. I did not push with this, I lightened up from my usual weights. I also did Flow with Mira, Chest stretching} neck and shoulder relief, 28 minutes with a couple of added stretches, 38 calories. Total time 69 minutes, 139 calories. I host ladies get together tomorrow, so it depends on how early I drag myself out of bed if I do a workout.

Didn't realize I never posted Sunday. LOL I did Bun Burners Barre and Ball. Yesterday, Aliah and I went to the zoo. I wanted to do something early, but NEITHER of our wifis would stream, so I gave up. This morning I did IMAX 3 step combos and then P30 Upper Body. She really just kills me with how heavy she lifts in that one for so many things. Tomorrow I'm doing the zoo and going to my parents as I have to drive my Dad to an appointment. Derek and Aliah will be heading to Detroit to catch their flight to Denver.

Diane Sue great job with P30 Perfect Pump Upper Body, and stretching.

Carolyn great job with yoga and Cardio Party.

Valerie I truly get the dental wimp thing. I swear if I move away from here, I'm driving back for dental work because I really like my dentist and he understands my issues, as do the hygienists there. Hopefully, everything goes smoothly. My sister takes drugs before dental work now, but I react so strongly to medication that I'm too leery to try that route.

Judy great job with yoga.

Today I did STS 2 Upper Body 2 timesaver. My time was 51 minutes with 120 calories burned. Average heart rate was 202 and maximum heart rate was 131.

Valerie, I totally understand your dread of the dental work. I hope that it goes well today.

Diane Sue, nice job with P30 Perfect Pump Upper Body and Flow with Mira.

Cathy, nice job with Bun Burners Barre and Ball, IMAX 3 combos, and P 30 Upper Body.

Hello to Judy.

I'm back. all went well. tooth is out, procedure took less than an hour. I remember nothing. its barely bleeding. I am supposed to take it easy for a week so I will see how I feel but likely just easy stuff without a lot of hard work. icing it. will be eating very carefully. last night I had scrambled eggs and applesauce, not favorites but could slide things by with minimal chewing. on antibiotics and watching for GI issues but usually immune to those side effects. my dentist has frozen me before without issues but not this corner.
thanks for not making me feel wimpier than I already do.

Things are getting back to normal here after our family visiting last week. I have an appointment to get my flu shot tomorrow and a hair appointment Thursday. I’ll be working the weekend then will be off until Thursday. Yesterday I did 45 minutes of endurance rowing and 45 minutes of scenic (easy) Peloton rides.

Carolyn-Great job with Cardio Party and STS 2 Upper Body 2 timesaver. We did a 2-year renewal for our tags last year, it was the first year we’ve done that.

Valerie-I’m glad your dental work went well. I completely understand being a wimp about dental things. I’ve had several dental issues in the past couple of years and they caused a lot of pain and anxiety.

Diane Sue-I hope you had a good rest day. Great job with P30 Perfect Pump Upper Body and Flow with Mira.

Cathy-Great job with Bun Burners Barre and Ball, IMAX 3 step combos and P30 Upper Body.

Today I did KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout two. That was 29 minutes and 209 calories burned. My average heart rate was 132 and maximum heart rate was 163. Workout two is more intense thane one.

Valerie, I’m glad that your procedure went well.

Judy, great job with rowing and the Peloton ride.

Hello to Diane Sue and Cathy.

stuck to directions and walked up and down our yard for 30 min in addition to doing grocery shopping and costco. ends up being a lot of walking total did the countertop push ups and about 80 of them, balances and toe raises. I'm not supposed to do weight lifting. I think its overkill but I will obey.

Today I did a short workout. Not much sleep the last two nights and lots of bad eating over the weekend. I did CDorner Power Step #418, 22 minutes, 118 calories, 2,176 steps. I followed with Raw 20 minute stretch/flow and Raw yoga stretch, 34 minutes, 48 calories. Total time 56 minutes, 166 calories. I hosted my ladies group get together yesterday and did not work out. Maybe I can get in the lower body workout that I had planned on tomorrow.

Today I did STS 2.0 Lower Body 2 express, 1 set. My time was 32 minutes and 120 calories burned. Average heart rate was 100 and maximum heart rate was 124. Then I did STS 2.0 Chair Yoga which was 22 minutes and 42 calories burned.

Valerie, it’s good that you took an easy day and followed the instructions after your oral surgery.

Diane Sue, nice job CDorner Power Step, and Raw stretches. I’m sorry about your poor sleep. Getting out of your routine will do that.

Hello to Cathy and Judy.

actually carolyn its supposed to be an easy week. I'm not supposed to do sports or weights for a week. we plan to ride this morning because since I do it often, it's more like serious walking for me. I dont think I'm at any risk since I have had no bleeding swelling or discomfort and because riding is such a normal activity for me.

ETA waited for this afternoon instead because it was cold and foggy earlier so rode right after lunch 15 miles. I felt a little less energetic than normal but did it ok in normal amount of time. I feel more tired than usual but thats it.

Today I did Cathe Perfect Pump Lower Body+bonus lower, +extended stretch, 48 minutes, 125 calories. I followed with a CDorner Core Mobility for 12 minutes stopping because it was too much bear and on my hands, went on and do Day 18 mobility/stretch chest and shoulders, finishing with some hip flexor stretches, 28 minutes, 42 calories. Total time 76 minutes, 167 calories. I went a little lower on some exercises today.

Cathy, nice work on I Max 3 Step Combos and P30 Upper Body. I have just come to the conclusion that trying to compete with Cathe on weights is not necessarily a good thing for me to do at this time. Hope things went well today.

Judy, it always feels odd when visitors leave and suddenly it is quiet and things slow down. Good job on the 45 minutes of endurance rowing and 45 minutes of scenic Peloton rides.

Carolyn, nice work on the STS 2 Upper Body 2 timesaver on Tuesday, Cardio Quick Fix 2 yesterday and STS 2 Lower Body 2 Express 1 set along with STS 2 Chair yoga today.

Valerie, good for you taking an easier day of walking. It seems like a ride would be okay. I was wondering, does riding a bicycle bother your back? I am hoping nothing bothers me with riding, as my husband has bought a lot of stuff. I ramp, rack that will go on the truck came today. Fed X delivered it and the box was broken open and bolts and washers loose. I hope everything is there.

Yesterday I ran for 30 minutes and today I did a 10-minute drills row and a 30-minute Peloton Upper Body mobility workout. I’m dealing with a shoulder issue and also a knee-hamstring issue so have been trying to do shorter and lighter workouts for a few days. I should probably consider this an active recovery week.

Carolyn-Great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix workout two, STS 2.0 Lower Body 2 express, 1 set and STS 2.0 Chair Yoga.

Valerie-Great job with walking and riding. I had to take a few easier days when I had my root canal done last year.

Diane Sue-Great job with CDorner Power Step, Raw Stretches, Perfect Pump Lower Body+bonus lower, +extended stretch, and the CDorner Mobility work. I have also come to the conclusion that it isn’t a good idea for me to try to do the same weight as Cathe.

Hi to Cathy

Diane sue, riding does not bother my back. before the surgery riding was ok too. after surgery I didnt ride for 4 months. my doc didn't think it was wise. falling is a risk & could have dislodged all kinds of metal parts! part of it was seasonal too. no strong need to ride outdoors in January or February. mt biking didn't feel good at first, but road riding was Ok right away. the position is comfortable, more comfortable than walking. my road bike has dropped bars so I'm leaned over more, while the mt bike is more upright. both are ok. my butt wears out before my back.

I agree about not competing with cathe on weights. at one point years ago I tried while doing STS but never succeeded. on some things I could match her but not even close on most. not worth the risk.

It's been a crazy week. Wednesday, I walked at the zoo and then went to my parents and took my Dad for his laser procedure. Was not going to head home during rush hour, so I stayed until a little after 5:30, and it wasn't bad. I think I that was the morning I also did XTrain a mix of fire walkers, disc, ball and barre. Yesterday I shopped and this morning, by the time I went to workout, and was still having wifi issues I said to heck with it and ended up doing STS 2 Mat Yoga. Next week looks far more normal. Derek and Aliah flew out to CO Wednesday and have been having a good time. Yesterday they went to a nature preserve and saw bison and tons of prairie dogs and then later in the day went to aquarium. I believe today is the day they are going to the zoo in Colorado Springs. Derek had his itinerary all planned out. LOL

Valerie I'm glad your tooth procedure went well. I honestly don't remember any restrictions when I had mine pulled a few years ago. But, mine was less involved, since I only had gas and injections, and I'd been on antibiotics already to clear up the infection. Great that you got in walking and the ride. Other than sometimes on overhead presses, shoulders are the only area that I can match Cathe on. I can come close on a couple others, but there are times when she just is so crazy with the weights that there's no way.

Diane Sue great job with CDorner Power Step #418, 22 minutes, Cathe Perfect Pump Lower Body+bonus lower, +extended stretch, mobility and stretching.

Carolyn great job with KCM’s Cardio Quick Fix , STS 2.0 Lower Body 2 express, 1 set and yoga.

Judy great job with the Peloton workouts, run, drills and upper body work. Hopefully, giving your body some rest will help.
