Good morning. I’m getting us started for the week.

I did my weekly yoga/mobility this morning for 20 minutes. I’m waving hello to everyone and hoping that you have a wonderful day.

This morning I did the Killer Legs Barre Bonus and STS 2 Mat Yoga. Working on getting my new phone set up today. My biggest problem is that somehow my Apple Music app is linked to our iMac and has my husband's music and none of mine! It's not downloaded at least. I'm thinking I'll just cancel mine and start over with the free 3 months, but I have to figure out how to get rid of his first without getting rid of them on the computer. And because he's easily freaked out about any tech glitches I'd really rather not pull him into the picture. LOL

Carolyn great job with the yoga/mobility.

Valerie great job with the 30 min spin and therapy work. Chatting with my siblings at least lets us commiserate with each other and we can compare notes from conversations we've each had directly with them.

Hi Diane Sue and Judy.

cathy we have had issues with account overlap or bleed or whatever it might be called. we share an email account but have separate phone numbers on 2 apple phones. we have trouble with the phones getting confused with texts and even calls and voice mails. if my sister calls my phone and leaves a VM it shows up on both phones, even with entirely different numbers. I cant explain the situation, but mostly it works. Basically I would be cautious about that music thing and accidentally deleting his playlist. (there would no doubt be hell to pay.) we had our conversion/upgrade done at the verizon store not the apple genius bar. thats a longer drive and honestly the place is just seriously annoying. we did some switching of phone numbers too. maybe a factor. we also get overlap between windows based systems on our desktops. we had to assign which system was the main one.

good you have 3 reasonable people to confer and plan with. my brother acted like he was playing fair but he is an underhanded lying sneak. my sister is an idiot. so that ends that.

I am doing a unusual lab test today, collecting a 24 hour urine sample. every drop into a collection container. cant go anywhere, really. sample has to be refrigerated and taken to the lab drop off tomorrow. I had a choice when to do this and picked a day it was raining and we would be home anyway. it continues until tomorrow morning, and then Im done except for the drop off. its going Ok, havent forgotten, the biggest factor.

did x train ch, sh,ba from the middle to the end, overlapped some that I did 2 days ago, and the rest of it. along wth therapy. for some reason I thought it was a lot longer than it is.

Just finished STS Disk 11 Back and Triceps. Dentist appointment this afternoon for a cleaning.

Valerie part of the issue is that I have a different email address on my phone than on anything else I have, computer, iPad, MacBook. Years ago, I got a new phone and it would not let me use that email to set it up. But, it's an email that I only use for that phone, and in no way connected to my husband's email. I think I'm going to try again to change the email linked to the phone. I tried it years ago and it wouldn't work, but maybe the process is smoother now. My Apple Music is linked to my regular email. But, I've been using it on the phone with the unique email for years now and I have no idea why this time is different.

I've never heard of that type of urine test before. Definitely would have you staying home for that 24 hours. Great job with XTrain Chest, Shoulders and Back and therapy.

Hi to Diane Sue, Carolyn and Judy.

Test is done. it's for endocrinology to check a possible future issue. not a problem but could eventually need treatment if it changes. I'm not sure exactly what they are looking for but I asked for two containers. I stay well hydrated and needed both. it's a PITA because you have to catch all the pee and refrigerate it. (I used to work in a lab) familiar with the process but it's a waste of time if you forget and pee somewhere else without collecting the sample. or get up in middle of the night and forget. obviously not a good day to go shopping or on a ride.
your phone issue is not the same as ours. I was surprised that even with different phone numbers, incoming calls could end up on both phones. its not consistent either, sometimes it happens and sometimes it doesn't. more likely if a call goes to VM. sometimes happens with texts too. we have Sirius so Im pretty stupid about music apps. then we have and share the same email address, something people think is weird.

Today I did ICE Low Impact Sweat workout one. That was 28 minutes and 176 calories burned, average heart rate 128, and maximum heart rate 161.

Cathy, great job with Killer Legs Barre Bonus, STS 2 Mat Yoga, and STS disc 11 Back and Biceps. Your phone, email, and music setup sounds complicated. I’m sure that you will get it sorted out soon.

Valerie, great job with XTrain ch, sh, ba and therapy exercises. I’m glad that you have the 24 hour urine sample done. It’s good that you didn’t forget the sample procedure at any time during the 24 hour period.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

Hi, ladies. It's me again. I'm kind of thinking about joining you, if you don't mind. I appreciate the invitations from Cathy and Valerie!

I always exercise in the evening. Today is supposed to be weights, but I am switching to yoga. I took down most of a chain link fence Saturday and yesterday, which was pretty heavy work. I need a break. :) Not sure which yoga I'll do though. I'll let you know tomorrow.

Cathy, I don't envy you your technology problems. I hope they get straightened out soon.

Valerie, I don't envy you on your urology test! But I'm glad you're done. Fingers crossed for good results.

Carolyn, I love that workout. I usually combine 1 and 2 for a longer workout. But as you know, I'm rethinking things, so we shall see.

Hello to Judy and Diane.

--Shannon

Shannon, welcome to the group. Taking down a chain link fence is quite the workout! Yoga sounds like a good idea. I used to do both workouts from Low Impact Sweat, but these days I usually chose number one.

Saturday, I did Raw Box and Pump 8 38 minutes, 144 calories, heart rate 111/135 and Walk Strong 3 Jessica Smith Total Stretch, 18 minutes, 32 calories. Sunday was a rest day. Today I did CDorner Power Step 28 minutes (did the warmup twice because I restarted with cardio setting, heart rate 138/164. Finished with CDorner Full Body Stretch with towel, 33 minutes, 39 calories. My ribs and chest hurt so bad. I called my doctor and am going in tomorrow morning. I need to find out what is really causing this. I keep waking up in pain and having to take Advil and use my heating pad. I want to be sure I know what is wrong before making decisions on med. Being careful today with putting pressure on chest wall and ribs.

had to drop my pee sample this morning and get a blood draw. then we did a recycle trip to goodwill and dropped off our old TV plus a few shopping stops and then back to costco to get winter tires bought and installed while I did my weekly shopping there. costco seems to be going into tires more aggressively this season and had a very good deal on winter tires ( blizzaks) plus mounting that was several hundred $$ less than the other local competitive tire shop. I dont know if that's a factor for anyone else. we've been pleased with pricing\and services. its also a convenient place for us to use. they are always on time and their employees are always pleasant. I think costco pays well and treats employees well too, so what goes around comes around.

probably only therapy today. good enough.
\
welcome shannon.. always good to have a new voice and different ideas.

diane sue, best you go get this issue sorted out. that does not sound right and does not seem to be getting better by itself. look up costochondritis and see if that sounds like that might be it. you should be seen though. that sounds miserable.

I worked 6 hours Sunday and yesterday I did 30 minutes of Peloton Strength and Core work and a 15 minute stretch. I plan on rowing later today.

Carolyn-Great job with your weekly yoga/mobility and ICE Low Impact Sweat workout one.

Cathy-Great job with Killer Legs Barre Bonus and STS 2 Mat Yoga and STS Disk 11 Back and Triceps. I hope you can get the phone, email and music issues corrected soon.

Valerie-I’d never heard of that test before. I hope you get good results. Great job with XTrain ch, sh, ba and therapy exercises. We have Sirius too and I have the Sirius app on my phone. I’ve never tried any of the other music apps.

Shannon-Welcome to the group. Taking down a chain link fence sounds like a great workout to me. I’m trying to do more yoga too. It really helps when I feel like I need a rest/recovery type workout.

Diane Sue-I’m so sorry about the pain you are in. I’m glad you are going to the doctor today. I hope you can find out what is causing it. Great job with Raw Box and Pump 8, Walk Strong 3 Jessica Smith Total Stretch, CDorner Power Step and CDorner Full Body Stretch.

Good morning, and thank you for the welcome, everyone. Yesterday I did Perfect Flow from the Perfect 30 series. I did the premix that combines both workouts - yoga and basic mobility. It also includes a core segment, but I skipped that. So I guess my total workout was about an hour.

Did anyone see Cathe's latest update? It sounds like DVDs may be on the way out. I'm grateful she can still produce them, but let's face it, that outdated software won't last for long. Sigh.

Carolyn - I think I like the first one of LIS the best too. When I do the second one that's on the step, I just do it on the floor. I dearly love step, but I had to stop years ago because it made my arthritic toe ache all the time.

Diane - I don't see how you manage to keep exercising with that sort of pain. I sure hope your doctor finds out what's going on.

Valerie - Nope, winterizing my car is not an issue down here. I live in Arkansas. And I work from home, so I don't even have to worry about driving to work when we finally do get ice or snow. I'm glad you found a good place to take care of your car though. Finding a place you can trust is very important.

Judy - I think you're the only other one in this group who is employed, right? I think your job at Home Depot sounds fun - lots of activity and no sitting at a desk all day.

Was going to do legs today, but mine are in full rebellion from the Killer Legs Barre. Apparently, I did it too well. LOL Didn't affect my back and tri workout yesterday, but I swear they are more sore today. So, I did Stretch Max with the band, which is my go to when my legs are really sore. I have to go to get my drivers license renewed this afternoon, since the darn system kept telling me my account was disabled. I go south to a small town, that's generally pretty fast compared to the big ones in Battle Creek and Lansing. Plus they highly encourage appointments which helps.

Judy great job with the Peloton workouts.

Valerie glad you were able to collect your sample okay. I think I'm not even going to try and fix the Apple Music Issue. Spotify is the same price per month and I can get a free trial to check it out. So, I'll just cancel my current Apple subscription.

Diane Sue great job with Raw Box and Pump, Walk Strong 3, and Jessica Smith Total Stretch and CDorner Power Step and Stretch. I'm so sorry you are having so much pain. I hope they are able to find the cause.

Carolyn great job with ICE Low Impact Sweat workout one.

Shannon glad you are joining us. And taking down the fence absolutely counts as a workout. And my hat is off to anyone that can workout in the evening. If I haven't started by 10:00 a.m. it's not happening. I used to go to classes in the evening years ago, but for some reason I just can't do it anymore. I saw Cathe's update and yeah it sounds like DVD's are phasing out. Not surprised, but I know a lot of people use them. I always buy the DVD's, because although I have an OnDemand subscription, some days our wifi isn't cooperated, and I have to use the DVD. Great job with the Perfect Flow premix.

Im also a DVD user tho I can see the writing on the wall. our workout room does not stream very well. the TV fits in an alcove under a wood stove on the floor above. pretty serious insulation and brick work above because the signal is marginal. we can stream from one room in our vacation house in MT and it would require some issues there as well. this is likely the last set I will be buying anyway. I will keep moving but finding I need to keep things simpler without a lot of bending and twisting. this workout series will be it for me. I have plenty of older mid level things I can use. yesterday afternoon our signal was way messed up for unknown reasons.

when we do serious gardening or wood chopping I call it a workout. a fence take down should be counted.

my tests all turned out ok but it was a battle to get online to look at results. some sort of internet glitch going on locally.

Shannon-Yes, I work in garden and paint at Home Depot. It is very active and fun. I love getting so much exercise at work but I'm not sure how much longer I will be doing it. The concrete floors are unforgiving and I'm starting to feel the cumulative effects of almost 6 years of working there. It is a fun environment with a lot of great co-workers but the downside is how hard it is and the possibility of getting injured as I am getting older.

Cathy - I've always had to work out in the evening or not at all. Until just recently, I had an hour commute to work. I would leave at 5:30 and start work at 6:30 so I'd miss the morning rush hour. No way could I exercise before that. Besides, I like to get some movement in after a full day of sitting at the computer. I hope your legs feel better after the stretch! I haven't done a barre workout in forever. A totally different beast than weights, that's for sure.

Valerie - I'm glad your test results are good! So you burn wood for heat? We have three households out here on my parents' property (parents, brother, me), and we've all burned wood at one time or another. I think everyone is about done with that now. Electricity is much easier on old bodies. But yeah, splitting and stacking wood is a lovely workout. And it's outside, which is even better.

Judy - Ugh, yeah, concrete floors are definitely hard on the feet and joints. But having a job you love is a major plus!

Today I did P 30 Perfect Pump Upper Body and the Extended Stretch. My time was 48 minutes with 148 calories burned, average heart rate 107, and maximum heart rate 142.

Diane Sue, nice job with Raw Box and Jump, JS Total Stretch, CDorner Power Step, and CDorner full body stretch. I hope that the doctor can find the cause of your pain. I wondered about costochondritis when I remembered my experience with pleurisy.

Valerie, taking care of your tires at Costco is an excellent value. We have purchased tires from them, though not recently. Of course, we don’t have to winterize our vehicles.

Judy, great job with Peloton Strength and Core and 15 minutes of stretching.

Shannon, nice job with P 30 Perfect Flow, both workouts. I love my DVDs, but I know that they are being phased out. I’m definitely a morning exerciser. Before I retired I would get up at 4:30 to be able to get my workout done before work.

Cathy, nice job with Stretch Max.

Have a great day everyone.

Decided were going to ride the trail today. not great out but not awful. and at least not raining now.

shannon, a wood stove in our family room. we have a lot of trees on our lot and use our own wood. we heat the family room but not the house. DH cuts a tree every year if needed. usually trees fall down or get blown down and we ( mostly he) cuts and splits them. I used to do a good portion of it but my hand arthritis has gotten worse so I dont do much anymore. this week we had a logging outfit cut down several trees that are getting too big close to the power lines. that will be plenty of wood for a year. the house itself stays pretty cool. we have an electric heat pump for our main source. the wood stove is comfy for when we are watching TV, eating dinner.
I've become a later day exerciser unless we are hiking/riding and its warm. I do a lot mid to late afternoon lately.

Costco has become a one stop shop for me. I get gasoline, prescription meds, lots of OTC drugs , immunizations, and tire service there and a lot of grocery and nongrocery items. its only 5 miles away. I wish my regular grocery store was near there but the opposite direction.

this area varies a lot in winter. some years are very mild. other years a lot of snow. we spend a lot of time wet and in low 30's so driving conditions can get exciting. its easier to drive when its 10 degrees than when its 32. we go to MT several times a year during late fall, winter, and spring. winter tires are absolutely necessary.

did a road ride 15 miles and 1 hr 15 minutes.

No workout today. I went to my doctor and she says she thinks it is costochondritis/tietze. She asked lots of questions and pushed around on the area. I kept thinking the symptoms went more along costochondritis. She did send me to the imaging place and they did x-rays so we can be sure nothing was missed. So, she gave me a prescription of meloxicam to take for a few days when I am inflamed, and I picked up the suggested Salon Pas lidocaine patches. Also, she suggested I avoid exercises that set off the inflammation. Hopefully the x rays come back okay. I have read lots of stuff on Costochondritis and used a few youtube videos with PT for it. My husband is off and we have been getting some things done separately and together today. I think we have two tvs trying to go out on us at the same time. The one in my workout room had a pink screen two times this last week. I had to unplug the tv and plug it back in to get it to straighten out. Then another day it had no sound. The main tv sometimes loses the volume or worse suddenly goes full blast. The pink screen was odd.

Valerie, I read your post last night, and I have been thinking it was the costochondritis. I said nothing to see what the doctor came up with. Nice job getting out on a trail ride today. It is really dry here. I saw on the television in the restaurant that they were telling people to leave an area that they are fighting some wildfires in. It is super windy. The upcoming rain forecast is starting to dwindle. Still getting up in the 80's here. Usually, it gets wet and cold around this time of year.

Judy, nice work on yesterday's 30 minutes of Peloton Strength and Core work and 15 minute stretch. I probably should not have done the box and pump workout as I think it made things worse with the ribs.

Shannon, nice work on Perfect Flow both workouts together. I am pretty good about working through pain, but sometimes I regret it afterward. Welcome to the group :) I have not seen the latest update, but am anxious to get the dvds. I have run into some of my really old Cathy dvds when it comes to the premixes and my blu-ray player. Things change, I sure like the dvds though and have not considered the on demand because I pretty much own all of the dvds.

Cathy, those barre workouts seem to always burn and I get really sore from them. When I got my last license renewal I got it for 10 years. I didn't know I still had an Apple account till they contacted me (thought it was a scam) I found my old id and sure enough, someone hacked the account in Turkey and has a subscription. I changed the password, couldn't change the address, block all devices, and finally found a place to address the issue online when they were saying there was a problem with payment. Of course there was, I never attached a card to that account. Once it is settled, I want the account closed. I do not have apple phones around.

Carolyn, nice work with Perfect 30 Upper body and extended stretch. My primary doctor is a lot more attentive and spent a lot of time going over what bothers, how often, how long, and pushed around on areas. I really did not think the pleurisy was correct. The arthritis doctor never spends much time asking questions. I knew my primary doctor would. I am glad that I went. While I was at it I got my pulmonology appointment set, a little worried as I was reading stuff and hit on the lung nodules which I have so got that appointment set. They have been doing yearly imaging to be sure nothing changed. So, 3 appointments in January. I generally avoid Dec-Feb appointments to avoid needing to cancel and change.

Good morning, ladies. Yesterday I did a total body weight workout on my own while listening to my 80s playlist. It's so much fun. I spent about an hour and a half, but don't worry - it wasn't all solid lifting. Sometimes I just have to stop and jam to the music. :) I lifted PHA style, alternating between lower and upper body: squats/back, deads/chest, lunges/biceps, glutes/triceps, calves/shoulders. Then I did Icy Core #2.

Carolyn - great work with Perfect Pump. Okay, working out at 4:30 a.m. is NOT fun. I had to do that at one point in my career and hated it. My hat is definitely off to you for doing it for so long.

Valerie - We also use a heat pump as our main source of heat. There are some winters when it gets super cold for a brief time and the pump can't keep up. Then I have to use the emergency heat feature. I stopped using wood heat because my cast iron stove just gets too dang hot. One winter we had snow on the ground, my windows were wide open and I was in shorts and a tank top. I have to deal with insane heat all summer. That's quite enough, thank you very much.

Diane - did your doctor say whether costochondritis will heal completely, or is it chronic? Please take care of yourself! Our weather sounds similar to yours. Hot and dry - the entire state is under a burn ban. But like you, we are normally wet and chilly by now. Global warming sucks. Sigh.
