good morning. we are in an interesting weather pattern with heavy fog morning and evening and partly sunny days. fog doesn't burn off until late morning usually. we had planned a trip locally in our camper to make sure all is in working order when there is still time to fix something isn't. this is not good weather for this. it's cold enough at night to get icy spots on roads and you don't need to be a serious bicyclist to figure out this could be nasty. will take mt bikes, do a day trip to test the camper. If Ok, then maybe do a short trip right after. campers are a lot like boats, ALWAYS something.

This morning I did Live Cardio Core Challenge. I've done it before and it's a good solid workout. Definitely had my heart rate up there. Some 140's-160's and usually I'm more in the 120's-130's range. Woke up to a couple inches of snow on the ground today. Getting more tomorrow. Not in a rush to do the drive, especially with more coming. No where to go until Thursday. Temps are too low to melt it, but at least the sun is out now.

Valerie hope your day trip with the camper works out well!

so far, have not gone anywhere. never cleared off at all yesterday, damp cold foggy, visibility low. we were hoping for sunshine but fog never burned off. where we planned to go is even foggier so not a good time. DH wanted to do something because he is having a minor surgery friday to remove a tiny basal cell. not that worrisome but the location will prevent him from exercising in some ways for a while. sign. we were so happy to see no rain in the forecast but this is not a lot better.
yesterday I took a rest day.

This morning I did Cardio Slam, the no mat cardio premix. That was 34 minutes with 232 calories burned. My average heart rate was 129 and maximum heart rate was 158. I have been loosely following the January rotation, but I seem to substitute more than follow it as written.

Cathy, great job with Live Cardio Core Challenge. It sounds like a good workout.

Valerie, hopefully your weather will improve soon. We finally have a sunny and mild day today which is nice.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

This morning was Disk 4 Chest, Shoulders, and Biceps. My pecs are going to be dead tomorrow. That one starts out with drop sets totaling 50 and then all but two of the chest exercises are various types of pushupsI Only other things are incline and flat bench chest flies. Used 18 lbs for those and when I look back to the first few times I did STS and used 27 lbs for those in Meso 3 I'm just like

Valerie sorry your weather isn't being cooperative. We were originally supposed to get 3-6" here today, but other than waking up to maybe an inch, it's been doing nothing but very light snow all day.

Carolyn great job with Cardio Slam! I don't think I ever did one of the monthly rotations because I was wanting to substitute so much.

Cardio slam is another one I have but haven't done.

we worked on our wood chopping and stacking again today, DH doing a whole lot more than I did. I had not been down there long when we both saw "our" owl fly in and perch on a post above our vegie garden. of course, being a slow learner I didn't have the phone and had to go hike up and get it again from the charger. this time he didn't hang around but flew down to posts and branches along the edge of our other neighbors yard. this neighbor has a mini farm with sheep, pigs, turkeys and who know what else. not a lot of any one animal , a few for his family. so we got to see our great gray owl several times again but not as close as the first pictures

This morning I did Supercuts which was 47 minutes and 286 calories burned. Average heart rate was 125 and maximum heart rate was 151. Cardio Slam is a good cardio workout. There is a premix where Cathe demonstrates low impact modifications in a side view on the screen. I use most of those modifications when I do Cardio Slam as well as other Cathe workouts.

Cathy, great job with STS disc 4, Chest, Shoulders and Biceps. The push-ups are agonizing in Meso 1! I like Cathe’s rotations because of the variety and balanced structure. I don’t worry that I am overworking any single body part. I try to choose a similar type workout when I make substitutions.

Valerie, you might enjoy Cardio Slam. It’s not choreographed like Cardio Party. It’s more like a series of cardio drills, even the segment that uses the step.

Hello to Judy and Diane Sue.

drove to mts to ski this morning and a waste of time. much more snow on the roads but old nasty snow. then roads were driven on and frozen into icy ruts. too long since the last fresh snow.

yesterday we did a lot of chopping and log rolling. before the log is split its cut into big rounds. rounds probably weigh 300 lbs but they are semi round so will roll if you wrestle with them. anyway, a lot of work but can't find any category on WW to get credit for it. I realize this is not a common activity and 'gardening" definitely doesn't cover it.

carolyn, I might take a look at that today. I may have done cardio slam but not sure. I tried Cardio party enough times! that one bothers me because it looks like so much fun.

cathy those STS pushups were something else! I used to be able to do them or very close. I used to limit some of the types like reach/ tap and military. I've had trouble getting my hands flat( arthritis) for a long time now and ones where you lift an arm are tough. I do most pushups holding onto the feet of a bench so they aren't totally flat.

Today I did My Finished Step workout and a shortened version of Coremax the Stability Ball one. Need to rearrange the order of the segments before I do it again. My lower back is cranky today which isn't a plus since tomorrow is back and triceps. Oddly enough my pecs aren't very sore at all today. The Elmos pushups haven't shown up yet, but I'm pretty sure they are in Meso 1. I can do all the various pushups, but almost all of them are on my knees. Planks I can do on my toes without an issue, but pushups...not so much.

Valerie sounds like you are getting excellent workouts from all the wood you've been dealing with. That's great that you saw the owl again. Sorry to hear that your attempts to ski today didn't go well.

Carolyn great job with Supercuts! That's one I've done only a few times and almost all of them back when it came out.

Today I did 40 minutes of Peloton rides after work. I'm off work tomorrow and will be staying home all day. It's too cold to go anywhere if I don't have to.

Carolyn-Great job with Cardio Slam & Supercuts. Those are both challenging workouts. I need to revisit them soon.

Cathy-Great job with STS Disc 4, Step & Coremax. We ended up getting about 4 inches of snow yesterday.

Valerie-I agree with Cathy, it sounds like you are getting a great workout with chopping and rolling wood.

Hi to Diane Sue,

DH did the yard work, I had to get supplies at Lowes and costco. came home and did 20 fast minutes on the elliptical, and then 4 sets of 25 knee push ups and dips, 50 sit ups, 16 tricep push ups. biking tomorrow foggy or not.

really disappointing find such terrible conditions.

I didn't allow enough time to do a formal workout but those 100 rep challenges are fast the way I'm doing them. if I do a segment on the elliptical I feel warmed up and go into upper body work. eliminates loading dvds. didnt do a complete core workout but did two sets of ankle grabber sit ups and the "banana position" move, forgot what it's called. took me only about 30 min to do the whole thing. DH wants to eat at 5, not something I like but he turns into an eating machine in the afternoon. I keep telling him to eat more for lunch or have a higher protein snack but he just chews thru everything he can get his hands on. no, he's not losing weight.

we planned today to do the trial camper drive with mt bikes. it's 32 degrees and foggy. Ugh. yesterday it burned off a little but not until after 3 pm. this weather pattern is SO hard to deal with. a few miles inland its sunny but all crusty snow. the local airport has cancelled all flights for several days now, a combination of roll out of 5G, and smaller jets that have an altimeter problem in significant fog.

Today I did Boss Loops Glutes and Core, standing segment only. That was28 minutes and 144 calories burned. Average heart rate was 115 and maximum heart rate 142.

Valerie, great job getting in a workout after shopping. That’s too bad about the poor weather conditions. Does your husband want to eat at 5:00 every day? We eat dinner around 5:45.

Cathy, nice job with your Finished Step Workout.

Judy, great job with the Peloton ride after work. I can’t blame you for not wanting to go out in the cold on your off day.

Have a wonderful day everyone.

Did Disk 5 today Back and Triceps. Fortunately, my lower back was much better this morning. Though I did skip the Superman's at the end as they really hit the area that was sore. Judy's right it is very cold here today. We have one day in the next two weeks where we may get slightly above freezing, and it's already been cold for a bit. Usually we get at least a little break from the cold in January.

Judy great job with the Peloton workouts! I'm sure you're glad to be able to stay in for a couple days.

Valerie sorry to hear the weather is still causing you problems. I hope things are better tomorrow. The whole 5g thing is confusing. Everyone has known it was coming and has years to figure out how to deal with potential issues. Great job with elliptical, pushups and sit ups. I don't know that the banana holds have another day do they? My back is not a fan of those, so I'll either only do one leg up or substitute a different move.

Carolyn great job with the Boss Loops workout!

Today I did KCM Cardio Fit, both workouts and Power Splits, Upper Body only. Chris is still working from home so we were both here all day. I didn't go outside at all. I'm not looking forward to going to work tomorrow but at least I have 4 days off after that.

Carolyn-Great job with Boss Loops Glutes & Core. I should do that one this weekend. I need to do more work with the new bands and loops.

Cathy-Great job with STS Back & Triceps. You are making me want to do STS again! This cold weather is really getting to me. The forecast looks pretty bleak for the next couple of weeks. I'll be happy when it gets back up to the 30's. That will feel like a heat wave!

Valerie-Great job with the elliptical, push ups, sit ups, dips and tricep push ups. That sounds like a thorough workout. I'm sorry about the weather conditions. I hope they improve soon

all of our intentions went down the tubes after another cold foggy day. did get in my 50 min on the elliptical. I was only doing the longer time at level 8 so did most of it at level 9 today. that worked well on the spin bike and works on elliptical too. this is an old machine. at least 20 yo. still works fine. the intensity number is very relative! our newer machine is much harder at the same number level. this is enough, like a brisk walk but not a run.
did not do the planned mt bike. we will today. forecast says fog will burn off sooner so will give it a shot. taking the camper to do the shake down trip check.

cathy there was a decent explanation of the 5G issue today from a journalist( washington post). there is more than one level to 5G and it depends on which levels have been activated and how close the towers are. for here, I'm not sure how much the problem is related to the fog and how much to the 5G. blech to the Supermans! I do them but not happily.

diane sue, hope you are doing well and progressing in your recovery.

Today I did Burn Sets Chest, Back, and Shoulders for 52 minutes with 253 calories burned. Average heart rate was 115 and maximum heart rate 153.

Cathy, nice work with disc 5 Back and Triceps. I hate doing the superman but I do them. In fact, they were in today’s workout, but I only did half.

Judy, great job with KCM Cardio Fit and Power Splits upper body. I’m sure that you are looking forward to the 4 days off.

Valerie, nice job with the elliptical. Hopefully the fog will cooperate today and allow you to get out for biking.

Hello to Diane Sue.

Loaded up the camper this morning and drove to the state park and rode our mt bike route. about 7 miles. it was cold and foggy but not as dense as the last several days. it was cold to start. ice on the windshield and surfaces so I don't think it was more than 35. foggy for most of our ride. as we finished, fog burned off, especially along the water where it was about 20 degrees warmer. we were cold and suddenly it was like we were in a heated room. a decent ride, but harder than in AZ. the elevation is a lot lower too. it was a lot colder, trails were wet, not mud, but interesting how much easier it is to ride on hard dry gravelly dirt., wearing less clothing.
Our camper passed the test. all ran fine, no load shifting or movement problems. we fixed whatever the assorted issues were.

I always liked burn sets. I think X train is my overall favorite group of workouts.
Cathy and everyone else who is interested, I will put in a link to that 5G story. Like I said, its a Washington post article, and they limit the free # of articles you can access. I hope it works.
5G service just got faster for some people. Here’s why | The Seattle Times

Shopped today so no workout. We actually made it up to 28! Sun cleared off the road yesterday, but it was drifting when I went out and more so when I came back. I could drive the 55 mph speed limit, but in a couple places that was driving in the middle of the road, cause the stuff in the middle was still clear and dry, but the sides not so much. LOL

Judy great job with the KCM workouts! Agree on the cold, my sister was flying back from CA to FL today and lamenting that weather in FL was going to be dropping into the 50's. Oh let me play my little violin for you! :D

Carolyn nice job with Burn Sets! Normally I'm good with superman's but when my lower back is sore, they hit in exactly that spot.

Valerie great that you were finally able to ride! Glad your camper was fine. Thanks for the article I'll see if I can read it. WP is very hit and miss for what you can read.

This morning I did Cardio Party and the Extended Stretch. That was 49 minutes and 318 calories burned. Average heart rate was 126 and maximum heart rate was 155. I wanted a fun cardio this morning this worked perfectly.

Valerie, thanks for the link to the article on 5G. I remember hearing about the mid-range band, but had forgotten about it. The article was a good reminder. That’s great that you were able to ride in the state park and had no camper problems.

Cathy, good job getting your shopping trip completed.
