PEEPS do Saturday

Morning all. Today is "Robin's Day of Fun," as my DH has been calling it. It starts out not so fun with a few hours of overtime at work. While I'm working, my family will hit Heritage Days, a kind of historic-demonstration-craft kind of fair. After I get home, we are headed to a small, family-run amusement park for their last day of rides, along with a craft fair. Then we will head to an Oktoberfest for dinner and (Yay!) German beer. I'm so ready for my day of fun! If I get home from work early enough, I'm going to squeeze in a workout, but if not, I'll call this week a rest week and start up tomorrow. Next week shouldn't been quite as crazy.

LaDonna, forgive me for forgetting, but are you training for a marathon? Is it your first? Whatever you are planning, you go girl. Let us know the particulars so we can cheer!

Judy, LOL at "only" 3 hocky games being a slow weekend. Please give Mr Judy a hug from me. It's nice to be back in touch with you.

Shell-bell, you go girl! Will your sister be at the race? Many hugs to her. Please put my voice in your head, cheering you on.

Breckgirl, hugs! Hope yesterday wasn't too bad for you.

Hey to anyone else who stops by today. We may have to do some kind of getting-to-know-you post soon.

Peeks in to say hi to the peeps! Hopes Robin's work goes quickly and she has a fabo time with her family today!!

Is main lining the coffee this morning. 2 glasses of wine did me in last night and now having a hard time getting going  B&Gs awaits me,.....

I haven't been peeping here but I wanted to say 'hi' to my gal Robin (do you mind being called a gal?)

I am having one of those nice weekends without many plans. Just going to do some kettlebells at some point today.

Happy Saturday Peeps :D

I was up early and did BootCamp (4DS). Feel really glad that it's over.
But I got to admit, this is my first time with this and I wasn't thrilled. I wish the cardio portions were a little longer. I'm a weight wimp so the upper body work hurt, and I am still only using 6, 8 and 10 pounds :eek::eek:

I'm loving this check in though, because it's keeping me motivated. I tend to go on exercise binges. I week on, 4 MONTHS off.:eek:
So keep me going girls!!! :D

Looking forward to the get to know you thread
Have a great weekend
ellie

Good morning everyone. Yesterday I ended up doing a 45 min full body workout of my favorite exercises. For some reason I didn't feel like following a DVD. I feel my hamstrings so i guess I did something right. Today I am doing a 5K run for ALS. My book club does this event every year because all of the ladies in the club have a family member that was or is effected by the disease.

Not much else planned today but I need to run some errands before I take off to NJ on Monday.

Robin - I hope you have a great day of fun. I had one of those type of days 2 weeks ago and I still smile when I think about it.

Catherine - I hope the coffee starts working its magic soon.

Ellie - Good workout. I don't have 4 DS, but I keep thinking about getting it.

Hi to all who follow. Have a great Saturday everyone.

Hiya peeps. It is a tempo run for me today. I believe 8 miles. I need to check my schedule. Last hard run for me!

Robin, I am training for my first half-marathon and it is next Sunday. My bod is tired.

Berry, good luck on your 5k. I love 5k's

Ellie, Yay for getting that w/out in early.

Catherine, I am drinking coffee now too but I know better than to do the wine. I get a hangover from one glass anymore. Back in my young days I could drink up, stay out all night, and still make it to work smiling.

Hi Lainie!

Hi Lainie, I love being a gal, gal-friend-of-mine.

Morning Catherine. LOL at your two-wine-hangover. DH used to call me Two-Can in college. Not that 2 cans of beer affected me much. I just used to call it quits at two cans, because I knew any more WOULD affect me. How is your BIL doing?

LaDonna, whoo hoo. Good luck. I can't wait to hear how your half marathon goes. I used to run when my knees were younger. I miss it sometimes. I never pushed myself much past 6 miles though.

ellie, I always prefer cardio to weight work...

Karin, what did you do on your day of fun?

Still at work, but I'm almost done. Let the games begin!

Hello Peeps.

KPC on tap for me later on today after I get back home from running errands and getting groceries.

Robin your weekend plans sound wonderful!

Catherine I can totally relate to how you are feeling I was like that yesterday, I can not drink CABs at all . Get to feeling well soon.

Lainie have fun w/ the KBells. I'm really enjoying them.

Ellie 4DS Bootcamp is not one of my favorite Cathe cardio. When that one comes up on a rotation I sub it for another cardio. Have a great day!

Karin Good Luck on your 5K today.

LaDonna
will you be resting a few days before your half mary? Have a great run today.

Well I'm off to start my crazy, hectic day once again here. Hope you all have an Outstanding Saturday!!

Finally got motivated and did B&Gs the standing portion only. Glad it's done. Wasn't so much hung over from the wine, just dragging.

Robin, LOL at "two can"!! I'm the same way. I tend to stick to two, cause I know what more does. On the rare occasion though I do more and always regret it :D

BIL is doing really well, thanks for asking. He may be coming home today or tomorrow. It amazes me how quickly people get sent home from the hospital these days. I know he's better off not being in there and going home as as soon as possible, but three days after cracking open his head  I am put my faith in the people caring for him and feel they will do what's best :)

LaDonna, good luck on your 8 miler today

Ellie, you can always do some of the BC drills twice;)

Lainie, enjoy that you have no plans this weekend!! I love weekends like that!

Karin, have a good run on your 5K!!

good morning peeps!

Robin your day sounds full of fun! w/o or not, you will probably walk more steps than me today!

Catherine, hope your coffee kicks in soon... I don't do wine but LOL about Robin's "2-can" knick-name. I'm a very "cheap date" in the libations department!

elliemom I will send extra encouragement and motivation your way and we can all support each other in our fitness committment! :) I just keep telling myself that it is SO worth it!

So, this morning I raise a mug (of whatever floats your boat) to all who follow in toast fashion for a great weekend!

Yesterday was my rest day, and still recovering from DOMS from last Monday's GS Legs workout and those stinkin' calf raises... OMG... could barely walk all week!

Not sure what w/o is on the agenda today but need to get busy to stay in the running for the "at work" weight loss challenge... our pot is up to $600 now!

I really need to get ahold of my eating though, now that I am in a fairly regular workout routine of 5-6 times a week... figured I'd start in the hardest portion for me, workouts... Diet is my NEXT hurdle, as I am pretty much a junk food junkie... very picky eater and have a real (unexplainable) dislike for anything red, yellow, orange or green! Anyone have a successful way to start?

I can't believe I never thought to do it twice.:eek: I could have gotten a much better workout and how cool would I look starting a thread " I did Bootcamp twice" :D:D:D
This is THE ONLY Cathe workout I can ever say I could do twice. Most I'm barely hanging in there after the 40 minute mark!!!
I am so doing that next time. Thanks
ellie :)

OK, so I'm a day late on check-in, but I know check-ins help me stay accountable, so here I go:

Push/Pull Upper Body 2X
Stretch Max with stability ball

Yesterday I took a trip to Whole Foods...and three bags and $90, I was out the door. Gosh, I love this store but man! I need a part-time job to suppport my healthy food habit...LOL!

Hope the rest of you Peeps had a GREAT Saturday and are starting off on a good Sunday!

:) Wendy
