painful wrist

when doing chest press and flys when doing upper pyramid. when getting to my mid-weight my left wrist and actually elbow hurt to the point that i almost think i cant finish but i do have the strength and finish. They get a little shakey. THis only occurs in my left wrist and elbow? i do keep everything in line so not sure how to build the strength.

can you describe the pain a little more? sharp, stabbing, pulsating, etc. Does it start at your elbow and go to the wrist? Does it stop right when you stop lifting? How long have you had it?
it could be weakness in your left arm/hand or it could be carpal tunnel syndrome. are you gripping the weight with the wrist harder than the right during the exercise?

seems as though this has always occured when doing the previous mentioned exercise. the description is a hard one..just hurts like if someone is standing on your foot...you just keep pushing andit keeps hurting then i feel as though losing strength-barely able to control it,then i do over compensate gripping harder. every other time pain in the elbow probably more sharp there. this only occurs during this workout.:)
