Pacing yourself versus going all out

Does anyone find that when they are doing a tough cardio DVD or workout, that you pace yourselves? I'm wondering, is it better to finish, say a 1 hour workout pacing yourself, versus 45 minutes of the workout, not finishing the whole thing at an all-out clip?

I personally prefer to be able to finish the work out in it's entirety even if that means modifying certain moves and pacing myself.

I'm w/ Wendy- pace myself. If I am having a day where I dont feel up to the "complete w/o) I choose a pre-mix that is shorter in duration.. For me its a mental thing to complete a workout giving it 100%.
Yesterday my body was tired so I scratched the 75 min I had planned and switched to a 40 minute premix.... I was very proud of myself for not doing half-a**ed .... thats just me tho.... Do whatever motivates you. Its all good!

I pace myself. I think I burn more fat when my heartrate is steadily increased for a longer amount of time rather than when it is really high for a shorter amount of time.

I also like to pace myself and finish the workout but depending on the workout I also push harder when I can but realize my personal limitations.
