Pace Weights

What do you do if you have to use 14 lb dumbells. I have 12 lb and 15lb, so if I use 12lb with 1 lb weighted gloves I am still off by 1 lb. Most of my dumbels are non-metal, so I can't use pace weights.

For my barbel I would like to buy pace weights. Can anyone recommend a website I have only found one place online.

Thanks!

Not sure how you feel about it, but I actually have 2 pair of weighted gloves. A $10 pair from Walmart that adds 1 lb. to each hand. I also have Cathe's weighted gloves which are 1 lb. each, so I take out the two bads from each hand and shove them into my other gloves, so that I now have 2 lbs extra per hand, then I actually shove to hot dog shaped weights into the gloves which I take from my adjustable ankle weights. I know it sounds weird, but it has worked for now. I actually found a local store that has the plate mates and so in a couple of days, I will have those and my hands won't look like something from a horror film.

All the best to ya,

Michele

In addition to the weighted gloves I have several sets of wrist weights. I use these more often than the weighted gloves, depending what the workiout day looks like. If I look at the workout card and see that most of the exercises are going to have an odd amount that I know I'll need at least 1 pound for each hand, then I put the weighted gloves on and leave them on for the duration. If I see that there would be a lot of exercises that are right on with a dumbbell I have then I generally use the wrist weights that I can quickly put on and remove. My favorite ones are the ones I got at Sports Authority that I call my doughnut weights because that's what they look like. They're soft and just slip on over your hands and I often use two on each wrist. If you have small wrists, though, someone did post that they had to return these wrist weights because they slid around on them too much.
