p90x upper plus

ok, i just did p90x upper body plus workout as well as the core plus workout and it was AMAZING! I loved the quickness between each exercise which made it a circuit like workout. I challenged my upper body like i haven't in a long time. I have been increasing my cardio but honestly all it has done for me is make me hungry and irritable and tired. I'm going to try an upper/lower split using my new p90x plus workouts and not do any cardio. I'm going to tighten up on my diet and see where it takes me. I have always wanted to do this but have been so afraid but in the end of a month if i don't like my progress i can always change it. the p90x plus workouts are intense and keep my breathing up anyway without logging long boring minutes on the tread or elliptical. so my training will go like this:
monday: upper body plus and core plus (p90x)
tuesday: plyo legs
wednesday: either rest or yoga
thursday: upper body plus and core plus
friday: plyo legs
sat: rest
sunday: rest
I'm going to try eating mini meals again b/c i feel like my 3 larger meals are causing me to hang onto body fat that i'm trying to get rid of. i'll keep you posted on my results. i'm hoping that my energy levels increase and i lose this last bit of fat.

Good luck!

I also love the quicker pace of the X+ workouts. They go by fast! Are you talking about Plyo legs from Tony's new One on Ones? I think that would almost count as cardio!

Hope it works well for you, keep us posted!

after doing p90x+ for a month,i switched to p90x. i had major doms after doing chest and back. i had to wait 4 days to start doing the arms and abs.

I love the way Tony designs his weight workouts. It's hard to go back to straight-set workouts after working out with him for a while.

I really like Upper Plus as well. It's got a nice blend of some traditional moves with more functional moves that work more than one muscle at ones and in multiple planes. The shoulder work in particular is excellent, IMO, (I've always liked what Tony does for my shoulders...working them while actually making them feel better rather than feeling twingy).

X+

Hi,

I'm just finishing a modified X+ rotation (week 12). I did all the weight and core work, and subbed 2 runs and Cathe leg work. Total body + got deep into the muscles for me and was much more difficult than it seemed. I have gotten so many comments on how good my arms look and in the process healed up some nagging injuries because I haven't been lifting heavy. Every time I thought about quitting, I made just a little more progress and I'd continue another week. It really has been a nice change from traditional weight lifting.

ITA, Kathryn. I love the way Tony works shoulders and how he designs his weight workouts. Upper Plus is a great workout! I need to do that one again, thanks for the reminder! LOL
