P90X RUT BUSTERS Check in week of 2-7

You guys are doing awesome! It IS nice to hear everyone's feeling the same effects. Margaret- it was great to see you're eating nuts and cheese too!!!
I think I'm going to go to the health store and stock up. Get nuts and cheese, etc. I want to try to ignore calories/fat - but eat CLEAN - very basic. And try to eat consistently through the day instead of set meals.
Let's see if I follow this idea ;-) (not like it's a NEW idea, just I personally have never done it)

I know it stinks that you are not enjoying the workouts or Tony. I do agree that I feel harder worked after doing Cathe - at least definitely with cardio. It's just SOMETHING about the way the rotation is set up and how the individual workouts are. I don't know!! I had the same thing with the Slim Series, I got so bored with them, but they did show results.

I really can't wait to do the hardcores too though!

You guys are such a great group!!! Great job everyone!!!
 
I JUST RECEIVED MY SHIPPING NOTICE!!! And I preordered October 23rd!!!

I am going to keep with P90X, maybe just not as strict as you guys. I know that all these benefits (for me, anyway) are coming from the TONS of push-up and TONS of pull-ups. Plus, something about Yoga X has me sore which tell me "something is working right". I may just replace the cardio workouts with something FUN!!! Have got to stick with the push-ups and pull-ups, though...I am seeing an improvement in that regard.

My goals...to be able to DO a pull up (or two) and to be able to pump out 30 push-ups like their nothing! Am I dreaming?

Not at all! You seem to be right on your way to meeting that goal, Ima! I, on the other hand, did not do my "Ima challenge" yesterday but I promise that I will tonight! ;)

Ruppie - I whimped out on Ab Ripper Monday compeltely :( I will fit in an extra one day this weekend or next week if it kills me
x( I suffered for it b/c when I did ARX this morning, it hurt more than usual!

Margaret, Wendy, Ruppie - I AM STARVING TOO! I guess that this is a characteristic of this workout.

S&A this morning was AWESOME!!!!!! I LOVE This workout. Ruppie was right - it is my favorite! I increase weights again on about 40% of the exercises and I am waiting for the burn to kick in ;)

I may try to get in an extra cardio tonight that is like 45 minutes. I am just feeling like it. Maybe a new Hardcore premix or a premix from another series. I am alsp going to take a long look at next week's plan an dchange it up just a bit. I want to get at least one extra leg workout in before we go into phase 2.

On thing I wil say is that I am DREADING Core synergistiscs. I previewed it (very briefly) a while back and thought "I will NEVER be able to do this!" For those that are not new to P90X - how bad is it?

Just finished shoulders and arms. I too increased my weights on this workout today. Felt great.

Christine, I've been doing core synergistics on the Lean Rotation. I actually like it. It's not too bad and I really felt it the next day after my first time doing it. Plyo isn't part of the Lean Rotation, and THAT's the one that looks scary to me? Thoughts on that anyone?

I should be getting my Hardcore today. Woohoo!

Hi everyone!!

S&A - check!!

I'm kind of sad that's the last time for that one for a while, but I remember really liking the others too, so I think the change will be fun. The second phase is kind of where I dropped out last time, so I don't remember it as much. All I remember one of the girls in the next phase workouts is a much more realistic peer for me - she most of her push-ups on her knees!

I got my hardcores yesterday. Quite intimidating! I just sat there at looked at all the DVDs on my lap.

I never really got into core syn - for some reason I don't like it that much. Maybe because I find some of the moves strange - like the running in place crouched down, and the dreya roll. I'll give it a shot again though.

I definitely want to sub in some Cathe now that I actually have hardcore. I'm thinking her kickboxing for Kempo. And maybe her Core for Ab Ripper X.

What fun!

I ordered thru ck sales (why i don't know?????) and they havent' been shipped yet. Today, i felt like doing my leg workout so i did pure strength legs and abs. I went really heavy on the squats and lunges, hopefuly i'm sore tomorrow. I have a hard time feeling DOMS in the legs.

I don't know about core synergistic either. I did it once, and don't quite know where it fits in my workout schedule. I am someone who likes to focus on strength and cardio. I know i should do stretch and yoga, but just can't make myself.

Congrats to everyone getting their hardcores!!! I'm hoping they are kick-butt hard!
 
Hey, Wendy, I did a heavy leg workout today, too. I went really heavy and already I can feel my leg muscles stiffening up. Maybe I should do that P90X stretch tonight. I can hardly wait to get Cathe's Stretch Max.

Shoulders & Arms, Ab RipperX---Check! Plus ran on the treadmill.

I had a great workout today, I am feeling AMAZING!!! Sounds like you guys are too! Yeah for us! I don't know if it is because I am improving in these workouts and seeing progress, if the eating back in the "Zone" is helping, if it is because Hardcore is coming tomorrow or if it is because my bathroom and kitchen are clean. Whatever the reason...I am FULL of energy and super phsyched about P90X!!! Bet you never thought you'd here me say that!

I am skipping the Ima Challenge because my shoulders are howling! They need and deserve a break.

DH is taking me this weekend to buy me a pair of running shoes for Valentines Day...I love new workout gear!!!

Christine, I am new to P90X but remember, the first few days I did the lean rotation and Core Syn was first on deck. I really liked it, I thought it was fun!

Bubbles, I don't think Plyometrics is all that hard, it isn't easy, I just think it lacks in fun factor as far as cardio goes.

O.k. ladies, doing GREAT! Let's keep it up...if you are like me and have tons of energy, don't waste it...get an extra cardio or some leg work in. I think I am good...done enough today, wouldn't you say? Maybe if the energy is still here I will make an attempt at the Ima Challenge but not if the shoulders burn even a little!
 
Oh, I wanted to add... "the tip of the day, don't smash your face", I always enjoy it when Tony says that during the tricep portion of Shoulders and Arms:7 :7
 
YogaX - check! Although I have to admit, I don't do the entire thing. I just don't have 1.5 hours in the morning before work!

Last night I did one of the HardCore Kick Max premixes. I had some extra energy and needed to get some of the stress from the day out. It was a 48 minute low impact premix,which broke down to a warm up, two combinations and lots of leg work. From the things that Cathe said during it, I gather that I missed out on 2 combinations and maybe some extended warm up with kicks and punches from the regular workout. It was a pretty good workout! Nice little pump for the legs. Might be a nice one to add in for some extra leg work for those of you that feel you need it with P90X.

YogaX---check! Plus a few miles on the treadmill. My quad doesn't feel right, inner most part feels "pulled". I was trying to figure out what I did. After each workout, I do a super stretch that lasts about 15-20 minutes and ends with splits on each side. Well this a.m., while doing my splits I could feel it "pulling". Now that I know what it is from, I may have to lighten up on the treadmill a bit and refrain from the splits on that side. Don't want to be out of commission!!!

HARDCORE...hitting my door today! I won't do any since I have already done so much...well, maybe something from Core Max or Stretch Max;) !

How is everyone else doing? Oh, I still have to do the Ima Challenge for the day!

Can you believe I slept until 8:30 today?
My DH was sick all last week though so I think my body is trying to fight it off. I think I needed it. BUT- that darn Yoga X - I will do just about anything to excuse my way out of it. I'm just not a yoga gal.
 
Yoga X done. I always dread this workout, but after doing it now for the third time I'm better at the poses and am always glad I did it.

I have Kick Max in the DVD player right now. Looks like fun! I'll do this on Saturday in place of Kenpo.

Did my Ima Challange. Can only do 8.

Hey, gang, only ONE MORE DAY TO HARDCORE! I am jealous of you, Christine. I'm gonna be comin' to your house! (To paraphrase Tony!)

Cardio today for me... back to Step Blast, but I was a lot weaker than I was Tuesday because of my big leg workout yesterday. Still, it was fun!

Okay, explain the Ima Challenge to me again, please. You just drop and give the crowd how ever many you can do? I'm feeling stronger--I'm sure I could do at least one on my toes.

Tomorrow is Shoulders and Arms. AND HARDCORE!!!
 
I did my Ima challenge yesterday and got out 10 -- but I don't know what my problem is. I'm absolutely not comfortable doing push-ups. I think I'm better doing it during the workout then on their own. I think I hold my breath or something. My face turns all red and my head hurts. I remember some comments before about just having to be able to relax while doing them. Any tips?

Ruppie, Try to exhale whne you push up. Inhale on the way down, exhale up, during the excertion.

Yes, the Ima Challenge is to drop and do what you can ON YOUR TOES!!! Even if it is two. I tried to do mine but my son jumped on my back and wanted "a horsey ride". I am not quite ready to do push-ups with a 32 pound toddler on my back! Maybe after 90 days are up!
 
Shoulders and arms for me tonight, i really kicked butt!! I upped my weights on almost every exercise, at least for the first 5 or 6 reps. I couldn't believe it but i actually used 20's for some of the bicep work. Well, at least a few reps;-)
I'm going to miss this workout the next three weeks. I'm getting so familiar with all the little "tony" comments and actually think i'm starting to like him (as an instructer LOL). I always laugh during the warm up when we are doing arm circles and he "caws" like a pterodactyl. I don't know why that makes me laugh:)

Anyway, i won't be getting my hardcores till next week cause i ordered thru ck sales, and for once, i'm okay with it!!! I'm going to move into the next three weeks of p90x as planned, but using the cst and back bicep ones instead of the core syn/stretch week.

Ruppie, as far as doing pushups, i had a hard time for the longest time. this may sound silly, but what helps me is if i conscientiously (sp???) think "fire from the pecs, push from the CHEST". And also keep reminding myself to tighten my core. Once i remove all focus on legs/shoulders etc... and think CHEST CHEST CHEST, i can crank out at least 20 pushups. They have really improved since p90x, but i cannot and willnot do them at the pace Tony does them.

Well, cardio for me tomorrow. I'm kind of eyeing up MIC.

Congrats to everyone getting their Hardcores!!! I'm so jealous!

Wendy, you made me laugh out loud! You had no problem spelling pterodactyl and questioned your spelling of conscientiously!

I'll have to try your CHEST mantra. I struggle with those pushups. This morning was Legs and Back with Ab Ripper. I actually did all 50 mason twists. If I really suck in my gut, I'm starting to see more definition in my abs. Woohoo!!! Maybe if I lost that last 8-10 lbs., those muscles would show more.

I did bootcamp today. good sweat. by the way i am so happy i cant wait to get home. i am at work and i received the HC. i love it.
