P90X loss of strength after recovery week

For anyone who has done P90X, I asked this one the P90X website, but didn't get many replies, so thought I'd check in here. I've noticed that after the recovery week, my strength is lessened and I do less pushups, pullups, etc. than when I'm in the midst of a rotation. Is this normal? Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks in advance for your input.
 
I found that I came back stronger after each recovery week, and could do either a bit more weight, or a couple more reps per workout. Definitely didn't lose any strength.
 
Kathryn: I know that you're very knowledgable . . . any theory or guess as to why this would be occuring?
 
Just a guess: are you getting enough sleep and good nutrition during the recovery week?

Or maybe you just work better with a shorter recovery period? Try reducing it to 4 days and see if that helps.
