Hey Xers!

CLASSIC/PHASE 3/WEEK 9/DAY 4

So I finally picked up my anti-exercising arse last night and forced it to go to step class. :p Today I have to do S&A/ARX since I blew it off y'day and tonight is yoga. I am very much in need of the yoga so I intend to do YOGA X in full at this point.

So DesertBriez has not been around. Did she finish her X rotation and bolt out of the check-in? Does anyone know?? Seems I missed alot of folks finishing up while I was away at my girls weekend. LOL

Nancy, I wonder why the X never gave you the DOMS that Cathy does. That's intersting. I have been getting some pretty intense DOMS from the X this whole time...my back especially! }( Everyone's body responds differently to different things though.

Laura, I was happy to see you in the weight range thread too! LOL I have been reading it and there are more people who aren't "TINY" who have posted since we did. We are not alone! YEAY! :7

Good morning everybody -

I'm glad you were able to pick up and exercise last night, Wendy. I know the feeling of NOT wanting to do anything!!!!! (lol)

I'm trying to figure out why the DOMS are horribly obvious with Cathe and not with Tony. I guess I just wasn't "bringing it" as good as I thought I was. I can only go so heavy before I lose form and sometimes I guess that's just too light. Cathe does more reps and stays with the same muscle group - I don't know, is that the reason? All I know is that I can barely walk today after Gym Style Legs last evening and my triceps are still KILLING me after three days. It feels like I just started working out again. It's the weirdest thing to me.

Talking about weight range. I weigh 120 lbs. on this 5' body. I know I'm not perfect and can stand to lose a few, but some of us are 5'8" at my weight. Makes me feel like a tub.x(

Morning ladies ..
{phase 3 - week 10 - day 4 - my version classic)

OK .. instead of Kenpo I taught my cardio-kickboxing class last night .. OMG .. I kicked my own @$$!! LOL ... I forgot how dang hard my class was .. LOL ... yes I am sore from my own class. The arms .. the abs and hamstrings!! :eek:

I injured my knee about 1 1/2 year ago and have not taught my cardio-kickboxing class since .. there are certain kicks that would aggrevate my knee (I had a very similar injury to what Cathe had .. tore my quad tendon under my knee and had floating debris in the knee cap) .. I opted for no surgery b/c of my scarring my body does .. yes about 6 months of NO EXERCISE (except pilates)!!! . anywway I digress .. my class kicked butt last night!!! YYAYAYAYAAYAYAYA!!:7

Today is my favorite .. biceps and back!! I LOVE this workout! Tonights class is 1/2 cardio 1/2 yoga!

Wendy and Nancy .. I noticed some heavier people started posting after I posted my weight .. they were probably like us looking thinking .. OMG I am HUGE compared to these pixies!! And I in no way consider myself HUGE .. nor you two .. think we are NORMAL .. and HEALTHY .. not obsessed w/looking like a 12 year old .. LOL!! Heck I want curves .. I want to look like a WOMAN .. not a child!! LOL YAYAYAYAY for us is all I say!!!

Was wondering the same about DB .. she has been missing a while . . she should be somewhere in the program around where we are .. so I don't think she is done . . I have not seen her on the boards anywhere .. ??? .. Hope all is OK with her ..

OK .. have a great day .. congrats to you Wendy for beating the not wanting to exercise thing .. the X has a way of making you feel you HAVE to do it .. for no other reason than not letting it beat you!! LOL

oh and Nancy .. I am w/Wendy .. I have had MAJOR DOMS from the X .. it is more lifting than I have ever done though .. even though I did do do Cathe's b-4 this .. ?? .. I think it is the way Tony arranges the exercises that makes me sore! but I am sure once I go to Cathe again I will be saying the same thing you are right now!! LOL

Biceps and Back DONE!!!

once again .. I am surprise at how quickly I forgot how hard it was .. I tried to up my curls to 15# .. but could only do like 3 reps then my form failed .. so went back to the 12# .. I think my arms are just really tired from last night's class .. for sure will have more DOMS in the morning!! LOL

I noticed the girl in that DVD only does like 10 and 12 # .. so I should not worry about it I guess .. and I do 24# on the lat stuff .. and 50# on the reverse grip row .. so don't suppose I should beat myself up for being a bit whimpy on the biceps ..LOL ..

Ok .. where is everyone .. yooooo hoooo ??? guess the others have weekend fever .. ONE MORE DAY .. just one more day .. and we are off to the beach house (yes my workouts will not be up to par this weekend) !!

guess I will check back later to see if anyone has some news to report .. wonder how the weigh ins are doing???? I for one did not do the weigh in or measurments b-4 starting phse 3 .. I feel like I have gained ..but this is PMS week .. so not even going there .. LOL!!
 
Hi Ladies,

Well I opted for KPC this morning and may try to do yoga x tonight. KPC was pretty fun since I haven't done it in a while. I'm a little loose in the back side so I need to get back to adding my extra leg workout one day a week.

Wendy-Your day is certainly going to be full with shoulders & arms, arx, and yoga x. Let's not forget the cardio workout you will be getting chasing Joey around too. He is so adorable.

Nancy-just my opinion, but I think the DOMs may be from doing one body part to failure before moving on. Tony alternates body parts for the entire workout. I for one am looking forward to weighted chest work. I am so over pushupsx(

Poochy-I definitely want to come take your kickboxing class. We have class at the rec ctr called turbo kick that is pretty good. Great job, great class!!!!

Angie-I did go back and read your post. Gosh, I haven't done the new dvd's as made in quite awhile. I did them as made just to make sure they work, but there are some awesome premixes. I love the cardio fusion mix & match premix, BM2 scrambled eggs are 2 of my favorite. I've also LIC cardio only which is good if you are short on time. It's about 45 mins. Have fun with all the new dvd's.

Hi all

I haven't worked out yet. I usually do that before I post but I just picked up my new laptop and I'm trying to get the bugs out of it. It's funny how the screens are set up so differently. Everything is much smaller on this screen but everything fits on the screen. I am also missing some of my documents that the computer guy said he could transfer over for me. He's gone for today, so I'm gonna have to call him and see what's up with that. I've had to change all the little things like the homepage, passwords, etc. It's hard to remember all that stuff when you don't log in everyday. In fact, I'm always logged into Cathe.:) I guess I shouldn't complain, at least I have a laptop!!

Man, you all work out early! I wish I could workout in the mornings but just don't have the energy then. Now that I've just eaten lunch, I just want to go to sleep and forget the workouts but that won't happen. I had to get a new exercise ball today while I was out - my old one magically got a hole in it during the same day the kids were home on a snow day.....hmmmmmmm:eek:

Off to find some motivation...BBL for personals

Shoulders and Arms/ARX is DONE! WOOH! I love that work out! I upped my weights in most of the exercises! Yowzers!}(

I'm with you, Angie! I'm not a morning exerciser either. I can barely lift my coffee cup, lol. In order to wake up, I need a shower and what would be the sense of that......

Diana, I agree. It has to be the "work each body part to failure" thing that gives me all of these DOMS. I do love them.

Okay, off to do Stretch X. See, I didn't give up the X totally. My body really needs this stretch too.

Wendy - I knew you'd workout last night!:) And then turn around and do 2 X workouts today??? I still think you're a bit crazy}( but in a good way...

Nancy - OMG - you are hardly a tub. Do you have any idea how many women out there would practically kill for your body?? I still think you are too darn hard on yourself.
Yup - mornings are for mental work and then when my brain turns to mush (by about 10 somedays), it's time to work the body. I've always been a night owl, but at least I'm up before noon now unlike college.:eek: And for those who can actually tackle the am without java - I am in awe.:D
Also, Cathe has a way of bringing on those DOMS for sure. She can make a 5# weight resemble some sort of evil torture. She sure knows how to get deep into the muscle.

Laura - That's why I don't like kickboxing too and I don't even have an old injury. Some of the moves just make me uncomfortable - like I'm gonna tear a ligament or something. Weird because I've never had an injury. Oh well, Cathe and Tony keep me busy enough with other workouts and Kenpo doesn't really make me feel uncomfortable. I think the pace is slow enough that I can handle it without a problem.
It sounds like you have a fun weekend on tap. Good for you!! After all the recent working weekends you deserve some time for yourself - enjoy!

Diana - I was having trouble getting motivated today so I took your suggestion and did scrambled eggs. That was pretty fun. I did find though that I had a pause in the 4th series after the mombos on the step and before the blast. It wasn't on the first CD. I wonder if I should mention it - do any of you have the same pause?

My weigh in day is tomorrow but I felt light today so I thought I'd see what the scale thought. The scale was happy too! Another 3# bites the dust:) The heavy cardio after all that weight work has definitely shocked my body.

Now, what about those fitness freak workouts? Where do you find them and have any of you done a rotation that you particularly liked?

Nancy, I agree with Angie...ya gotta stop being so hard on yourself. "Tub" is not even close to how I'd describe you! Stop beating yourself up or I'll kick your butt!}( :p ;) :7

Angie, I'm not crazy...just very determined!}( Congrats on the additional 3# lost. So you kicked the cardio into high gear post X and that's how you figure you lost the extra pounds? Makes sense to me! I'll have to keep that in mind!:+

So Yoga X is done. I did everything but the Ohms ladies..EVERYTHING! I feel so good. :) Tomorrow is Legs and Back. I don't even have to do abs. Easy day! :p

Alrighty...time for a quick shower and then to bed.
