P90X January Starters, Thursday

Shoulders and Arms and ARX was awesome y'day. I felt sooo good when I was done. I upped my weights on 2 exercises. I've never felt so strong doing shoulder work before!:)

This morning I will take a spin class at the gym and then this afternoon it's yoga time!:7

So I "cheated" this morning and took my BF measurement. I couldn't stand it anymore! LOL I wanted to see where I was at after 3 1/2 weeks of X'ing! I can't divulge the results but let's just say that I was pleased! :) I will OFFICIALLY measure, weigh and take pics upon the completion of week 4. I hope I don't mess it up between now and then!:eek:

My lats are STILL sore! Do you believe this!? LOL It's not bad but it's definately still there. I feel it a bit when I move in certain ways and when I lay on my sides I am VERY aware of my lats!}(

Alrighty...I'm outta here for now but I'll be back ladies!
 
Morning Wendy - so glad you are seeing good results. And, nothing beats the DOMS eh? Although a few days of 0 DOMS might feel good too:D I have Yoga today too - I need to do it while the boys are at school. When they get home and start being boys it's hard to concentrate and I get so mad when I start wobbling because I can't concentrate. It kinda defeats the purpose of yoga.:D

Anybody else getting sick and tired of ARX? I'm gonna stick with it but man am I getting burned out on it. It would have been nice if Tony could have made 2 or 3 ab workouts. Especially since we have to do it so often!:(

Off to fininsh laundry, vacuum, etc., etc.,....

Good morning Ladies .. {week 4 - recovery week}

back after a 2 day absence!

yes .. DH worked my butt off moving furniture and laying the sub floor for the new carpet .. Tuesday did nothing but move furniture did not get a chance to workout .. but beleive me ..I got a workout all right .. GEEZE ... where does all the crap come from??? I found things I have not seen in 10 or more years .. :eek:

Yesterday .. the carpet guys came in and yes .. my new carpeting is beautiful .. now I want to re-do some more stuff in the house and DH is freaking out .. LOL .. we moved the furniture BACK in .. and I got rid of lots of the crap we did not need .. a much needed purging!!

while the guys were laying carpet I got in a 50 minute interval walk/run on the treadmill (Cardio Coach 5) .. and ARX ... between the workout of moving furniture and the treadmill run I am sore today! my legs - hip flexors and back!!

Today is yoga!!! I LOVE IT!! (I know I am in the minority)

.. and desertbriez .. think your not eating good rubbed off on me .. bc/ man DH cooked these last 2 days and I have been bad!!!! and had several adult beverages after moving all the furniture each night .. }( .. but oooooooooooohhhhh was it soooooooooo good!!!}( }( }( (hey is was "light" beer that is clean right? LOL}

Today will try to get back on track and eat better had my egg white omlette this morning .. planning on Lean Quisine at lunch .. so will try again to do better ...

Still have some major "crap" to mull thru and purge and the house is still not where I want it (closer than it was yesterday by a mile though) .. so will be busy again tonight AFTER yoga!!:7

Wendy - congrats on the upping the weights!

I did the Arms and Shoulders last night as well and increased my weights :) Yipppee!!! I also did abwork in between the exercises. I had to be quick and only got about 15 reps of abs in between certain segments - but I just could not fathom having to do ARX - again and again...I felt that my abs were worked very well though :)

Some of the exercises I am done with my reps about 20 seconds earlier then when they finish the timer thingy, so then I have those 20 seconds plus the 30 seconds they usually give you in between each exercise, so that is plenty of time to crunch out a few ;)

Tonight I am going to The Lion King off broadway with my mom - so no workout for me - once again going to be playing catch up!! oh well - I am soooo excited to see this!!!
 
sure, poochy... blame it on me! lol! i've been good with the adult beverages! none since my margarita on sunday! yay me! lol! however... thanx to my loving mommy... i will be being bad tomorrow evening! she fedexed some yummy REAL polish keilbasa to us and i'm going to cook it AND some mashed potatoes for dinner tomorrow! (unless she gets back to my email and says i can freeze it.. then i'll wait and cook it sunday! lol!) but still... do you have any idea how BAD yummy keilbasa is for you? *sigh* at least i'll make the mashed taters with light smart balance and 2% milk (isn't that like ordering a big mac and DIET soda?)

anyways.... now that i've alfeady gained 5 pounds just talking about it! i actually felt decent and not bloated or "fat" this morning!

i was thorougly TORTURED by EVIL coach troy last night! i swear he was trying to KILL me! he's a mean man....... if only the time would change so i could go out on the road and cheat by not riding so hard... oh wait.... that defeats the purpose, eh?????

this morning i did core synergistics for the second time this week.. i really love that workout! so much fun! brie (dog) gets into the act when it's time for the football tires and run back! gotta be careful not to fall over her!

i wish CS was in the workout more often! heck... he coulda done that instead of kenpo a couple of times?

angie..... i SOOOO agree that we needed more ab workouts! we do that what???? 30 times? YUCK YUCK YUCK! i do it and don't sub cuz it does seem to work.. but dang... talk about dread factor! no wonder it took me a year and a half to do this rotation again! i think i may be convinced to do a mini rotation of a month maybe.. like do phase 3 every once in a while???? but i'm NOT gonna want to do the whole shebang again for a while!!!!

wendy... i'll bet your BF is way low! you're already slim in your pictures! and being a runner... i'm guessing mid teen? (you don't WANT to be lower than mid teens!!!!)

i was going to look at your progress pics but you passworded them! *pout* of course.. i didn't do pics.. since i hadn't planned to do the rotation! wish i had! i did do the measurement on cathe's calendar though!

Good evening, ladies!

Today was Kenpo X for me. Yesterday was Core Synergistics. (Not sure what I think about that workout yet. It wasn't what I was expecting.) Tomorrow is supposed to be X Stretch but I think I am finally going to put my money where my mouth is and sub "Reach." I skipped the yoga earlier this week, so I think my stretch needs to be something more than just a stretch.

I am SO with you guys on the Ab Ripper thing. I started dreading it after the first week! I really think the only improvements Tony could have made to the rotation is to add other cardio workouts and a couple of more ab workouts. Maybe someone should go to his forum and suggest he get working on that! lol

I also agree with everyone on the AB Ripper thing! I'll probably stay with it though because I made a promise to myself to follow this thing to the end.

So...I did Core Syn. again tonight because I really didn't do well last night and felt awful about it all day. It did a much better job of "bringing it" this time. Of course, some of the exercises I probably looked foolish doing, but that's another story. I feel better now.

Tomorrow is Kenpo, which I love.

ETA - Congratulations on your measurement results, Wendy!!!! You must feel great! Are you following the diet closely? What Phase are you doing? I'm trying.......still off a bit though. I'll keep trying, and keep trying, and.......

I thought I posted this morning but it's not here. Who knows, its probably in another forum and they are all wondering "who is that and what is she talking about?

Anyway, I did MIC this morning. (thanks to Wendy for mentioning it) I missed my workout yesterday but will do the 2nd core synergistics tomorrow. I don't have an opinion on this workout since I've only done it once.

Wendy-glad to hear you are happy with the results your are getting. I'm definitely not happy with my weight, but my bodyfat % is heading in the right direction.

I dread arx too. I only do it once a week and do cathe AB work the other 2 days. I do the fifer scissors and add those in during the week too.

I hope everyone is looking forward to the next phase.

CLASSIC/PHASE 1/WEEK 3/DAY 4

Good Evening Ladies...Well, in a short while I will be off to ATTEMPT to complete YOGAX in one shot! Think I can manage it? I have my doubts! LOL

Spin class today was intense. Always is. I find spin to be quite a challenge for me. For that reason it's probably one of the best choices of classes for me at the gym and yet I don't take it very often! I wonder why!?:7

So I got my materials to begin studying for my personal trainer certification today! I already started reading the main book. It's an oversized text book that is 550+ pages long! YIKES!:eek: I started reading it before I let it's length freak me out. LOL I'm very excited. I hope I pass the test. I have until May 15th to complete it and mail it in so I should have enough time so long as I don't WASTE it! :eek:

Angie: When it comes to home exercise I only do it uninterrupted. If I can't have my peace and quiet during my work out time I get mad so I do very little when DH is home and if DH is NOT home DS MUST BE SLEEPING in order for me to work out. :)

Laura: Light beer is clean!? Well yahoo for me! I just hit the jackpot! LMAO! ;) Hope you enjoyed your yoga.

Reba: Let us know how the show was! You sounded so excited about it. I hope it met your expections. Doing ab work in between exercises was a good time saving idea and a smart way to avoid ARX. You sneaky lil' devil you!}( I don't want to burn out on ARX so I do it 2x per week right now and sub in Cathe ab work once per week. So far so good. :)

DB: You are too kind to think that my BF is that low. It's sooo not! LOL I have never had it tested professionally though. I use the handheld monitor by Omron. I'll bet the more accurate tests would prove it even higher then the omron says it is! It's actually not a BAD #...by all accounts I've read there is nothing wrong with where my BF% is at right now...IF it's accurate but I want to be leaner because I want more definition to show off my muscles! ;)
I LOVE KEILBASA! I rarely eat it either as I know it's sooo not healthy but yes, soooo very yummy! ENJOY!:9 :9 :9

Marie: I agree with you that they should have included another ab work out or 2 for variety's sake. Cardio as well. I am not adhering to the cardio in the rotation but I can see where it could get old as well even if you enjoy the work out!

Nancy: I am sure all of us have looked foolish doing exercises at one time or another. You are SOOOO not alone on that count!:) I am not following the X diet AT ALL. I've barely cracked open that book even! LOL I follow my own moderately clean diet. I try not to eat too much garbage but I am no saint and still seeing results so you don't always have to eat perfectly to "bring it". I guess it just depends on what kind of results you want. I know there is a limit to what I will get since my diet is not 100% but I am fine with that!:)

Diana: I think with this rotation we kind of have to block out the weight thing as it can be very deceiving. My weight really hasn't changed so far but I am only nearing the end of phase 1 now so who knows what will happen down the line. I think most don't see much of a change in weight but see BF dropping as well as inches and that is what counts!:+

Okay, I'm off to wind myself up into a pretzel for 90 minutes! YIKES! I'll be back in the morning so long as I don't get stuck in a pose and can't get out of it!:p
