P90X for husband???

I just wanted your opinion if I should buy my husband this program. He wants to get in shape but hasn't found any motivation to start. I thought this would help. What do you think? You think he would like it? He use to lift weights back in Highschool but hasn't done much since. I know I would probably use it!

It's an awesome program. My dh did one round w/ me last year and now is doing just mainly the weight work from it (he just really doesn't care for Yoga or Kenpo).

Anyway, I love it and have seen incredible results in strength & definition from it.

Most men do really well with the program. Shoot me an email if you have more questions!

In terms of DVDs that I would consider geared toward a universal audience (male or female), I think the P90X series is a good pick. It has a traditional gym feel to it that I think many men can feel comfortable with.

Has your husband seen the infomercial for it?

<I know I would probably use it!>
Really...that right there is reason enough to buy it! ;-)

P90X is pretty advanced if he hasn't lifted weights since high school. I'd get him started with something else and *THEN* get him P90X!

I agree with AmyG - maybe the Tony's Power Half Hour workouts or one of the other Power 90's, then work up to P90X.

It's a great idea. And he can grow into the exercises. He will notice from day 1 until next time around how much he has improved. It's awesome. Don't forget Cathe's STS series, it will be just as awesome, and maybe more so.

The idea is to die young as late as possible

Yep, good point also. P90, P90Masters are great workouts too (I don't have the Power Half Hours so I can't comment on them!)

I wish I had asked this question way back in November! My husband wanted p90X to "get back into shape" so I bought it for him for Christmas. He tried the first session and came upstairs red-faced and sweating profusely after the first 20 minutes...and asked me (seriously) why I hadn't come down to check on him (after all didn't my wifely ESP inform me that his heart rate was soaring?). Needless to say, he put this workout aside for now and is just focusing on walking/running and losing some weight. He realizes that he needs to get into shape in order to get his body ready for p90X! Hope that helps you!

p.s. after a year of Cathe workouts I was able to do a fairly good job completing that very same session...but I didn't rub it in ;)

You all are so helpful! THank you so much for your opinions. I am getting Cathe's STS, which I think my DH will use, but I don't want to wait for it! I still can't decide what to do! I guess I really want P90X for me (selfish huh!!!). So instead of the P90x, I think I will check out the other, P90 Masters, etc. to see what he might like. I don't think he would stick to it if he was all red faced and dying after the first time! I would love to see him work up to it.

Are the P90 Masters good? I haven't even heard of these.

Andrea, Good job on completing it! I had to laugh when you said "didn't rub it in".

P90X is an awesome purchase. P90Masters is basically an add on to the P90 series- it comes with Core Cardio, Cardio Intervals, UML, Sculpt 5-6, Sweat 5-6, and Plyo Legs.

And I don't rub it in when I can do more pushups than my dh either.... ;-) Cathe really got me in shape to even attempt P90X, that's for sure!

Click on my link below & email me if you have any more questions!

FYI- my husband did two rounds of P90X and lost 25 pounds and is the leanest I've ever seen him. It's just amazing what that workout program will do for you if you follow it. I haven't gotten up the nerve to do it myself, but I can sure say that it worked for my husband.
