So everyone - how's it going?! I've been hearing from people who say the Legs and Back is kind of woosey and they sub a Cathe Workout, so I was looking forward to a nice easy day. Well, hmm, I must be really woosey because this one kicked my butt (literally - and my hams too!). I LOVE the way he gets into the legs and works them all sorts of ways. Now, as this is the ONLY leg workout in P90X, in weeks 5,6 and 7, I will probably sub a Cathe workout for variety, but I really do like this one. And it's a major calorie burner! Amy - I'm going to feel this one tomorrow. I had entertained thoughts of adding cardio, but a run is pretty much out of the question right now.

Carole - I love your running. I have a friend who runs Ultras and I'm in awe of him. He ran the Badwater Ultra last year and did pretty well. He actually had a permit and ran to the top of Whitney... I hiked that and hiking it was bad enough. You distance runners are incredible!!

Morning Christine -

I think Legs & Back is a killer too - with that and KenpoX the next day - I am always sore. Stairs are my enemy after that workout for sure... :)

This morning was supposed to be YogaX - and I just can get to that one. :( So this morning I did Step, Jump and Pump - with skipping some of the weight work - since I know I am having to do Legs & Back tomorrow.

Anne...I do think Yoga is an important part of the rotation. I know YogaX is long and kinda boring but really check out some other Yoga's. I like the ones that go maybe 45 min to an hour. Baptiste, Kest and Yee to name a few I have tried and others I have heard good things about.

Thanks again Christine...:)...I feel in love with distance after my 1st marathon in 1997. I prefer trail running now as it is easier on the aging body rather than constant pavement running. I do think though that 50K is my max in distance as 31 miles seems far enough to me! That is great about your friend and Badwater, that is a tough run! I do agree with you about Legs & Back. I remember how sore my glutes were the next day. I did do Legs & Back every week but just added one more Cathe Leg workout as I have always worked my legs 3 times a week and couldn't see only working them once!!!

I did Bryan Kest Yoga after my run and it felt so good to stretch those muscles as my hams get a bit tight....:)

Christine- I PMed you before I saw the thread. Oops! I'm so glad you liked Legs and Back!!!! It's my current fave of all the P90Xs I've done. I'm glad I switched up my rest day this week- Kenpo the next day would have been rather miserable!!

I ran around a bit with the boot campers this morning, so I felt like the lack of cardio in Kenpo was okay for today...

I don't think I'll get into X Stretch today since I need to shower and get to the blood bank for my platelet donation. I doubt I'll be strong enough to spend an hour stretching after that!! ;)

Anne- have fun with Legs and Back tomorrow!!!!! My butt is feeling your pain as I'm typing, LOL...

Hi Christine-

we chatted a bit yesterday about a Pull-Up bar vs bands- Did you get the BB bands or get them elsewhere??

I am up in the air on which way to go here. I could use a Pull-up bar that mounts to one of the floors beam overhead-the only one not covered up yet-I work out in a finished basement(suspended ceiling). I am not exactly sure that I would want the bar hanging there all the time.

Thanks for answering my questions,

Kathy

Kathy - I absolutely understand! I got the bands from www.sissel-online.com. They have a better way to hang the bands from the door - it's much more secure. I can definitely feel that I'm working my back with them - it takes a few trys to get the position that works best figured out, but you'll get it.

Thanks Christine!!!

could you tell me which bands you got-was it the Fit Tube?? Yellow, Green, Pink or Purple??,or all of these??

Thanks again for your help

Yep, Kathy - I got the Fit Tube with the door attachment (on Amy's advice - so I asked these questions too). I bought the pink and purple bands. I use the purple one mostly.

I am excited to be joining in with you X'ers! Just started my classic rotation, wanted to up the ante and really bring it! Now I know what Tony means when he says Bring it! You really do have to mentally be there with positives, positives, ++++thoughts! Chest & Back was definitely challenging. Especially diamond pushups, military pushups and declinc pushups. My chest is on fire. I am using the bands for the back..(thank you to all who recommended sissel online) and don't feel that as much right now. We'll see tomorrow. Maybe I need to do more reps next time.. but ran out of time on Tony's clock. I am using the purple band. Ap ripper was tough! My hip flexors are definitely sore, as well as my lower back. I had to modify on the rollup/vcombo as well as the mason twist. I couldn't keep my legs off the floor the whole time- too tough on my back. I am looking forward to improving core strength from this! Drank my recovery drink ( endurox r4) as well as looking forward to eating clean! How is that going for everyone ...the clean eating? Any recommended recipes from the P90x nutrition guide? I will put up before pics soon. Got to track my progress! Looking forward to cheering you all on!
