Out Of Body Experience With Interval 9!!!!

Hello!

I'm normally a "lurker" but had to congratulate Cathe on her latest videos! Today was the second time that I have done the IMAX 2 video. I really like the way IMAX 2 is set up during the intervals. I think doing 2 or 3 different moves really helps as opposed to IMAX 1 where you do the same thing the whole interval. So as I'm jammin' along to the great music I'm starting to get tired at interval 7, but still feel pretty good. So when I get to the infamous Interval 9, I decide hey, I'm feeling pretty good, I'm going to go for it and give it everything I have. By the end of the interval I swear I had an out of body experience. My legs were trembling and I thought my lungs were going to burst, but I made it and was even able to complete Interval 10 only by the grace of God and the "Pina Colada Song"!

THANK YOU CATHE for giving us challenging workouts! Your continuing efforts to produce high-quality, effective videos have changed us for the better enabling us to enjoy our lives as healthy, active adults.

Julie,

<<<<<<<<<<<<<<< >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> That's my "cyber clapping" of hands for you! YOU GO GIRL!

I've now done Imax 2 3x and I still only get through 3 reps of interval 9 before I'm wheezing, hands on thighs, bent over, gasping for air, and looking at Cathe hopping and jacking along while I eye the phone and wonder should I be dialing 9-1-1!
By the time she's in the "recovery phase", I'm just standing erect to march in place, and then I STILL only recover enough to half way do interval 10 with some fair form!
So I applaud you, and I guess since you got through it you can do the little "happy swivel turn" like Cathe when it's over huh? :)
I'll get there sometime, but really interval 9 is the least of my issues, I'm still working on several intervals before that one!
If I ever "disappear" from the forum, know that it was the "16 fast taps" from interval 5 that did it! I finally tripped off the step and cracked my head wide open! There are only 6 reps of that and I can only hang for 4 of them, 3 reps pretty decent, 1 rep by the skin of my teeth!

Hi Donna!

Thanks for the applause! I have to agree with you on the fast taps, I'm waiting for the day I twist my ankle or miss the step entirely, I really have to concentrate on that one. I almost feel guilty though, I can get through IMAX 2, but for the life of me I cannot get through IMAX 1 without modifications. The plyo squat and power scissor intervals get me everytime. Like I said before, I don't know if it is doing 2 or 3 different moves as opposed to 1 move the entire interval that makes the difference.

But, whatever level we do whether with modifications or without, at least we are giving 100 % of what we have that day. I am proud of everyone on this forum - from what I have read in the past you are all dedicated to improving your health and that is very important in a world where people with healthy lifestyles are in the minority. So YOU GO GUYS AND GIRLS! It is so cool to share achievements with others who understand how you got there!

Have a great day,
Julie

I did IMAX2 for the first time today, and had the biggest blast ever!!!

It's incredibly challenging, but like Julie, I could actually do the intervals without too many (or any, I think) modifications. Whereas in IMAX1, I can NEVER get through the Power Scissors or Flying Jacks segment, and I've done this tape so many times, I cannot count.

This is my favorite interval cardio tape so far - the music is awesome, the moves are new and challenging, and I am definitely going to be including it at least 1x a week from now on. I just cannot say enough good things about this one (I've only done Cardio and Weights and IMAX2 out of the series, and so far, these 2 are my favorite workout vids).

Am I the only one or do other people have to slow down when it comes to the 16 taps? I cannot go as fast as Cathe and her crew do. I am still doing them but at a much slower pace. This is the hardest one for me to go fast on.
