others living in Europe please help

Has anyone ordered a 14inch mini step here in Europe? It costs a fortune to have it shipped from the States and I am really hoping that someone can advise me on where to order from here? I live in Germany and have been to every fitness store I know of here in Stuttgart. Hope to hear and thanks in advance.

Ann

Maybe you want to consider making your own 14" step out of wood. I used to use a home made wooden box for the longes. It is only 36 cm high and the "Praktiker Markt" would probably cut the dimensions for you.

I am from Germany, living currently in the US and I know that the German fitness stores don't have half the equipment the US has.

With all the postage involved, I really would consider using something that is stable and 36 cm high, preferably with a platform of 36 cm, too.

Good luck.

Ann: I'm sorry that I don't have an answer for you... my old step goes to 14 inches and I haven't ordered a new one. But, I wanted to say hi since we are so close, I live near Sinsheim (between Heilbron and Heidelberg). Do you have access to US military stores/postal services? Good luck in your search!

Katie

Would it be cheaper if one of us here in the states purchased a 14" step for you (like the FIRM fanny lifter) and then shipped it to you and you could pay us back?

I would be willing to help you out if you wanted to research that avenue.

Let me know what you think.

Susan,

That is a fantastic idea, but Ann would still get hit with import tax in Europe, and for items over $30-$40 's, it is pretty expensive  !

Anna :)

Can it be mailed through the US Postal Service? If so, there are no import taxes!

Katie

PS Where do I look to find out more about it so I can figure out about mailing?

Are you absolutey sure there would be no import tax if sent through US mail?

I live in the US and am hit every year when my family send me regular Christmas gifts from UK through the regular Royal Mail/US mail connection.

Also be aware that the mail charges for airmail will be very high on this item. Consider surface mail, which can take up to 6 weeks, but often a lot less, but is way cheaper.

Thanks you guys! I am thinking that I will try to have my DH make one for me. I have had a bit of bad luck shipping things here but I cannot thank you enough for offering to do that for me. You all are so nice. Well to answer the question about the millitary stores, we are not in the millitary. My husband is German and I moved here for love. How romantic. I was happy to here that someone is living so close. I have not had much luck meeting Americans over here. Anyone else close by?

Thanks again,

Ann

That's exactly what I meant - I would go the the Le Tarzhay (Target), buy one of the Fanny Lifters and send it to you through the US post or UPS, whichever was cheaper.

The offer still stands if you change your mind!

Hi
CK sales suggests using a 14 inch rubermaid kitchen step as a substitute.I bought it at the local hardware store and it works great.

The firm fanny lifter is also available in Europe. Of course you would have to buy the videos with it. :)
In the netherlands they even have it in retail stores (Perry Sport) or you can check the web: www.telsell.com
