Other cardio workouts

Hi everyone,

I love Cathe's workouts, and have all of them. The problem is I have to ease on them, because they are high impact, and I am getting problems in my knees and hips (I am afraid overweight has a leading part to play in it !). I don't want to stop all Cathe's cardio workouts, but replace some of them by other ones, less impact, but with the fun factor of Cathe's ! Could anyone suggest me the other cardio workouts of my dreams ??

Thanks in advance,

Karina

Hi Karina,

I have found the same thing with regard to impact lately. I need to cross-train with some lower impact stuff. For me, some of Cathe's are pretty easy to modify, some others not so easy. Recently, I got CIA 2K01 with Gay Gasper (has a hi/lo workout, and a Step & Strike workout) - I like it and it has much less impact. I also like Christi Taylor - she always has lower impact modifiers. I have heard that Charlene Prickett is good for low imapct yet good/high intensity. If you like kickboxing, I heard that Aaron Lankfords Power Kicks is great for an intense but low impact workout too. If you find one, let me know, cause I'd love to get one :)! You can find out more about these and others at videofitness.com. It actualy took me a while to convince myself it's OK to do other instructors besides Cathe - almost felt like I was cheating on her!!!:D

HTH,

Beth

For low impact/high intensity I like: Charlene Prickett, TaeBo and PowerStrike primarily, but there are also random titles I've found that are pretty decent, but more low impact/medium intensity like Aaron Lankford's PowerKicks, Christi Taylor's Still Jumpin', CIA's Power Aerobics, several Gilad cardios such as his Step On the Beach and Fat Burning Workout.

Charlene Prickett's Low Impact High Intensity

Powerstrike

Donna Richardson's Donnamite

Kathy Smith's Power Step

I'd also recommend adding a yoga routine once a week to stretch your muscles. I have a bum knee and have really noticed a difference in my flexibility which has secondarily helped my hip/knee tightness.

Hi Beth, Donna and Stacy,

Thank you for your answers, I am going to print them, they help me a lot.
I think I will try Charlene and Christi, these sound great ! And yoga seems to be a good idea for restoring flexibility.

Thank you all,

Karina
