OT - Relationship Advice - a little long

When I met my ex-boyfriend's friends (including females) for the 1st time they said, "Oh you're deana! I've heard so much about you. He talks about you all the time...." It made me feel great! He'd introduce me as "This is my smart and beautiful girlfriend" or "this is the love of my life." Even after 7 years. He always made me feel special that way. It's such a simple thing, but it says a lot.

I agree with most everyone here.

I believe a man should be thrilled to call you his girlfriend or wife and should proudly introduce you to everyone. It shows his feelings for you as well as the respect he has for you and the relationship.

Also, the guy is 31 years old. It's not like he's 18 and needs some training on how to do things.

I just wanted to add one more thing...

I wish somebody had explained to me that it is better to be alone for the right reason than to be with any person for the wrong reason, or because you are afraid to be alone.

I'm not saying that's your situation, but "back in the day" it certainly would have saved me a lot of grief if I had understood that very simple idea.

Good luck to you!
