Just read it on The Daily Mail (UK).

I don't know why but I think she is pretty classy - and that she traded up when she married hunka hunka burning love Keith Urban.

I know hat CNN, FOX and People.com are not reporting it yet. I go to the Daily Mail before I go to them as they seem to be way ahead of us on the news issue.

No offence to you, but why does anyone think this is news? Women get pregnant every day. So what? I am sooooooo tired of having celebrity pregnancies and their "adorable" mini-me's shoved down my throat as if the fact of a celebrity getting pregnant ranked as being as important as the assassination of a major world leader.

You know, I don't think it hurts anyone to be excited about life being brought into this world, even if it is a celebrity - especially after the assassination. If you are so tired of celebrity gossip/babies, you didn't even have to click on the thread once you saw what the title was. Just because you don't agree with the OP doesn't mean that you have to lash out like that.

ETA: concerning the pregnancy, I read that she has had two previous miscarriages, so I am really hoping that things work out well for her now - if it is true, that is ;)
 
I hate when people "lash out" on these boards, but I actually disagree here. I do not think Clare lashed out at all. She was not attacking the OP or out to offend the OP in any way. She even said so in her post. I think Clare just doesn't feel celebrity pregnancies are "newsworthy" items and is bashing the media for constantly making such a big deal out of it.

JMHO, ofcourse. :)

ETA: FWIW, I personally could give a hoot about what's going on with celebs so the news means nothing to me. Sorry! LOL
 
I love celebrity stuff!:7 And I don't care who knows!;) Sure I get sick of all the whoopla made about Ms, Spear, Ms.Hilton, but baby news is always exciting no matter who you are.

She is pregnant huh? Good for her.:) Oh, and I happen to think that little Shiloh (Brad and Angelina's little girl) is one of the most beautiful babies I have ever seen....lucky kid has some pretty good genes!
 
Ya know what? I rarely post on these boards. I post one thing, go to bed and wake up to a first response that is condesending in tone.

So here goes to "Maddiesmum"

FIRST - it's an open forum. I said OT on the thread title. If you so much as hate this kind of news than why in the world did you click on the thread link?? Not much self control because you clicked it and then responded - which probably took at least 2 minutes so you have some sort of interest I can only presume!

SECOND - obiously you are a mother by your name. My full moniker is Baylianmom so I am a mom also. I didn't post about Brittany Spears or her preggers 16 year old sister. I don't think it's any big deal when a celeb gets pregnant however I found the news unexpected and thought I would share.

THIRD - I see all sorts of thread topics on the thread boards. If one so much as irritates me by it's title I don't click on it.

And FINALLY - I don't know who peed on your wheaties but I suggest that you go and do a Cathe workout so you feel better.

Baylien, I see you don't need a defense as you're quite capable of defending yourself! lol! BTW, you don't need to warn us that it's an OT. This forum is for open discussions and I've seen lots of topics on the OD about celebrity pregnancies, drug addictions, jail sentences, and other such amusing fluff...Too bad some of us are on the edge around here, but it happens quite often. Someone posts about a little "fluff" and someone else has to chime in about the insignificance of it all because we have war, famine, disease, assassinations, animal abuse, etc, going on in this world. I'm so glad I have posters on this board who enlighten me about such affairs, otherwise I'd be totally clueless!
 
Thank you to those who defended! I truly mean it.

I also wanted to point out that NK's pregnancy was a brighter point of a week filled with grief in the death of Benazir Bhutto - who's life and career I have followed for many years. She was a brave women who risked her life for her beliefs. And now I fear for her son/husband as I am sure they will now be out to end their lives also.
 
AND I want to point out that I am happy for both! I think Keith Urban is great (he rocks in concert) and he deserves some happiness also.

Yes - NK had two miscarriages. One early (ectopic)in her marriage to TC and then one right at the time of the split up.
 
I haven't had time to be on the boards lately as my dad is here after losing his wife of 35 years to Alzheimer's (and he's watching Photoshop CD's on my computer :) ), but I for one was happy to read your post. Good for them. Happy news is always good news.

I think what all that stuff does is give us a break from the harsh reality that is our world. I am very aware of what is happening in our country and worldwide and it makes you feel helpless, nutso, and so sad, that joyous news or even gossip is a welcome respite-well at least for me. It doesn't mean you are less socially aware or do not care.

Thank goodness for entertainment, whatever that might mean to each of us. Hey, anyone up to watch the new episode of "Girls Next Door?";)

Suz, I am sorry for your dad, 35 years is a lifetime, bless him, I cannot imagine how hard that must be.

My Dad was just rediagnosed with parotid gland cancer. He's 86. And lives 2000 miles away. Hug your Dad!! Lighting candles!!

tneah - I agree - I am fully aware of what's going on in the world and I watch the news every day. My undergrad degree is in poli sci so it's not like I'm ignorant to the happenings of this world. It's a very sad world out there if you stop and think about it. I love all of the Hollywood gossip just for fun. Lightens things up!

NOW People.com is reporting that the Kidman/Urban camp is denying it.

She is scheduled to shoot a movie early 2008 and just wrapped a big flick in Australia.

Just thought I would update . . . .
