Ok, did anyone see Lost last night?
Can you explain to me in the Sawyer flashback what the whole counting to Mississippi thing at the end and then going back into the house and the money was there part? I didn't get that! Did she come back and leave it there - then leave? Did he give her a different bag? If so, then what was the point of waiting in the car then going back? In case she was looking?
I'm lost!

Sawyer gave her a different bag with fake money. I think the counting thing was to make sure she was gone.

The whole episode was just what the title claimed--The Long Con. Sawyer conned that women from the beginning. He was waiting in the car for her to be gone so he could go back and get the money he always intended to take from her. The scene in the diner (where Kate's mom was the waitress--did you notice?) was part of Sawyer's plan to con his partner as well. From the moment the flashback started Sawyer intended it to end just the way it did.

Sawyer conned everyone in this episode--Locke, Jack, Kate, ect.--he probably planned it after Jack took his pills, and everything after that was just the other characters doing exactly what he predicted they would do. Good episode, no?

OK thanks!! It took so many turns..
I can't believe that he'd be able to forsee such a complicated a detailed con! In both cases!

I LUV the new shariff in town! I found this episode so entertaining!!! This show is just so interesting. I still don't think Sawyer will turn out to be as bad as he thinks he is. I think he will redeem himself. Now I am a little worried about Charlie. The hood and the look in his eyes just make me think he is going to be a "lost" cause in the end.

I didn't notice!

I loved this episode. LOVE the shift in power, and Jack and Locke standing there looking like d'oh! while Sawyer waved the gun around. Good stuff.

I absolutely loved this episode! In fact, this is one of my favorite episodes this season! Great writing and thought were put into this one!

I did notice that!!! But when I said something to DH he didn't believe me!!! I am so happy that I am not the only one who noticed!

He had told her that there was a man in the car (his partner) who was going to kill them both. Then he must have made a switch with the bags/money. He was counting just to make sure she was gone. She ended up being the 'long con" in the end.
