OT - Halloween Costumes for the office

Cathlete
Hey everyone, I need your help - so put on your thinking caps. I work at a school and there are 7 of us in the office (including the Superintendent). Well, our supt decided we should all dress up on Halloween in the office, but he wants it to have a theme. Any ideas for seven people? There are two guys and 5 women. We thought of the 7 Dwarfs, but that would be hard to find costumes for.

Any other ideas????

Thanks,
Marcia ;)

Wizard of Oz? Dorothy, tin man, scarecrow, cowardly lion, Oz, Wicked Witch of the West and a munchkin or ToTo? :)

Wendy beat me to the punch.:D

I was going to say Wizard of Oz. Here's a picture of my mother & friend.

Characters from any book would be great. Off the top of my head, Harry Potter.
Charlie Brown characters would be cute.

Nightmare before Christmas or Narnia

Superintendent could be the President and you could all be the Secret Service (wearing a suit and dark sunglasses)

Everyone wears all green and you are a gang (Ganggreen...get it??!)

Wear all black with white dots attached. You all line up and "fall over" You are Dominoes

Beauty contestants...everyone wears a special sash (could be harder for the guys)

Blue Man Group

The Warden and the prisoners

Exterminator and bugs

A football game (referee, players, cheerleader, coach, mascot, waterboy, a fan, etc.)

Pimp and hookers (probably not appropriate for school!)

A bunch of bananas

Wear all of one color each and you can be a rainbow.

An Elvis convention

At my school we are going to have our principal be Mickey and our secretary be Minnie and we are all going to be Mouseketeers (jeans, with a white shirt with our names in big letters across the front with mouse ears)

Hope that helps!
Good luck!
Jenn

You guys could all paint yourself a black eye and wear a shirt with a big "P" either pinned or painted on the front of it, and you could be "The Black-eyed Peas." (Get it? Like the rock group, but not...) If you are at a middle or high school they might get it more. Plus, it's super cheap/easy.

WOW Jen!! What great ideas you have. I had also thought Wizard of Oz. Let us know what you decide & be sure to post a picture if you can!! Sounds like fun.

Themes

About 25 of us bought orange scrubs and went as inmates. We hung strips of black crepe paper on our doors to look like bars. We bought cheap plastic hand cuffs and ball/chains. It was cool. Last year we did an insane asylum theme. We split up and half were in white scrubs as "patients" and the other half had teal scrubs and were doctors. We had a medicine cart (cups filled w/candy); we all wrote up a scenario of who we were and what our "ailment" was and hung it outside our cubicles. We individually accessorised ourselves. Scrubs are cheap so it was easy to get everyone to participate. I even bought all the scrubs online at one place, had them delivered right to the office and everyone just paid me back.

Boy, it's been a long time and I can't remember how many of us there were in the office (we were all women) but anyway, we were the Addams Family. Took first place in the office contest too!

super 70s......I am going to be Mrs. Roper from Three's Company this year, so that is the first thing I thought of: Jack, Mr. Roper, Mrs. Roper, Chrissie, Janet, Lana, and/or Terri/Cindi :)
These are easy costumes to put together as well - you may have some stuff or it would be cheap to get!

I thought I posted this yesterday.

The school fun fair is always a themed event. We dressed as Candy Land characters or things in the game. I don't remember many of the names of the characters, but everybody did a great job coming up with ideas.

I guess this theme would be best for elemntary school.

You could always be smurfs. ;) Fairly easy costume to throw together - some blue face paint, blue shirts, white pants, funky white smurf hat. ;) One of you could be Smurfette and Grandpa smurf.

We are a math dept of 7 teachers and we have done the following in the past...

7 dawrves
cast of gilligan's island
wizard of oz
Dr. Seuss One fish two fish...
Sesame Street's Count and Numbers

We have done some others but I can't remember them all.

Good luck.

Do you guys have to all be grouped together? If not, you could just each pick a main character from your favorite children's book. One of the men could be Harry Potter, someone could be Alice in Wonderland, someone could be Max from Where the Wild things Are ... etc. That way, you guys get to surprise each other too and have fun seeing each others' costumes... AND it inspires a whole "reading" theme. Just a thought...

OMG - these are some great ideas!!! Thank you!!! I've written them down and we are discussing them at noon. I love it!!!

THANK YOU!
Marcia.
