I don't expect many here to know who I'm talking about, but I have nowhere else to complain about this so you are the lucky ones!
Anyways, I think I am the only person in the country who is totally ticked off about the whole Creed reunion and tour. Mark Tremonti is like my guitar HERO!!! He is an amazing talent and all he ever got to do in Creed was play mediocre back-up to crappy no-talent Scott Stapp (lead singer). I about did cartwheels then when Mark and other bandmates dropped Scott's sorry butt and formed their own band AlterBridge. They found a singer (Myles Kennedy) whose vocal range made Stapp sound like Elmer Fudd (just listen to Blackbird by AltarBridge if you don't believe me. That man has an amazing set of pipes!). The guitarists including Mark were finally brought to the forefront and the music was made just as important as the lead singer.
Now, Miles is working on a solo album while the group has sold their soul and reunited with Stapp for a new album and tour. They basically said they "had" to do it contractually and that they would be going back to Alter Bridge after the tour. Right... I'm so disappointed. Just heard the new Creed single and although it might sound good for any other group, it's the same old crap for Creed. The guitarists play background accompaniment that ANY guitarist could do while Stapp warbles along sounding half stoned and bored - ok, he's probably not "that" bad, but I'm jaded at the moment. I think Mark got maybe a 10 second solo in the whole song - which was awesome because Mark ROCKS, but sucked that he had to pick along the entire song to finally show a few seconds of talent. UGHHHH!!!!
Ok, I'm done whining.... Did you realize that Metalheads could actually be picky about "principals" too???
