Good Afternoon!
Did 2 chins last night. This morning I did Flow Yoga with Jennifer Lynn. I thought I was doing the int/adv practice but didn't realize until I was almost done that it was only the beginner flow. This was a nice gentle practice (I guess you would call it restorative?) I decided to preview the int/adv practice and did a few of the poses - side crane
, warrior 3 and also standing big toe balance with leg to front and side. From watching it I realized I need to get my knees up to my shoulders in crane and not just to my elbows. Maybe that will help me get back to chaturanga from crane (like David Swenson does).
I finally figured out how to print out the STS workout cards (thanks to Deanie's question). I never realized you have to go into the calendar and schedule a workout first.
Deanie - re STS - it's not like STS is all heavy lifting (actually only one month) so you'll basically be doing 1/3 to 1/2 each of endurance and heavy lifting. I hear you about the splits. After comparing this month to last, I was a couple of pounds lighter and felt leaner. If I go below 122, my body fat starts to shoot up. Body fat % has gotten lower with the heavy lifting though. Instead of HIIT, I found that lower impact aerobics/longer (not real long, nothing more than an hour) seems to work better for me. I think next month I might try upper/lower and a full body (or circuit) with cardio and yoga and see how that works for me.
Gin - I'm feeling much better. Thanks for asking. I hope your mother is going to be okay. I think it's a good idea to do your 1RMs Thanksgiving week. You've given me something to think about. I wonder if she's still planning on shipping around mid-December. If she does, you'll be right on schedule as you'll be doing them as close as possible to starting STS. Are you going to want to start STS as soon as you get it?
The pyramid premix sounds good. I think I may have done it once. It might be better for me since it's alternating body parts. I won't need as much rest in between.
I work out on carpet and I have no problem with the paper plates sliding.
Have a great evening!
