ONE BODY PARTY PER DAY

Cathe,

Am I going to get the same benefit doing one body part per day as doing all. I am just wondering if you do say... Upper Body Pyramid without very much rest if this benefits all muscles as you are exhausting each and every one of them. OR, do you benefit more by having all your energy focused on a specific body part. I don't know about the rest of you but sometimes it's like a holiday to do one body part per day.

I'm not Cathe (and if you want a direct answer from her I'd recommend posting on the Ask Cathe forum), but my personal opinion is you'll get better results by doing one body part a day. That's what I would do if my schedule allowed.

Here are the reasons why:

--by doing one body part a day you don't exhaust yourself & have more energy to work that one body part
--you can focus more on that one body part & add some extra weight training since you have additional time/energy

When I was in college I did the one body part per day & got amazing results, which I've pretty much only been able to maintain since. I still work each body part once a week but it's doubled up so I just don't feel like I'm doing the most effective workout possible.

I second Laura for the reasons she stated plus you give your muscles plenty of time to recover before you "tear them up" again. I also got the best results doing this.

ETA I reread the thread title and I love it! I could definately party at least once a day!!!:p

I did maybe four excercises and repeated them three times each so.... Maybe 20 minutes per part I am guessing. So, for triceps I would do dips, overhead extensions, kickbacks and lying extensions 3x each. Back would be overhand grip rows, underhand grip rows, 1 arms side rows, pull ups. Shoulders: side lateral raises, overhead presses, front raises, rear delt raises and strait arm side raises 3x each and so on and so on. Except for biceps. There are only two excercises for biceps, but I did a lot of those, let me tell ya'!

Good luck!

I weight train about one hour at the gym, three times a week. (often it's longer depending on if I'm doing legs or including abs).
